Disney+

Has anybody else had a issue verifying their account? When I first tried Tuesday morning on my tablet I couldn't even enter the code I was sent. It was just zeros and you couldn't change them. The I tried my laptop and kept getting error code 21 so I had them resend the code. When I went to my email I had been basically spamed with I think 10 emails with different codes. I tried the last code I was sent on my laptop and error code 21 again. Then I tried through both Roku and the Xbox app and more of the error code 21. The yesterday I think it was I saw on Reddit where people were complaining about verifying their account and then being locked out of the service. Unless I'm misunderstanding it was on the official Disney Plus Reddit. So now I'm skittish about trying to verify my account.

This has happened quit a bit with many finally getting access. I'd wait a few days if I were you and let the technicians correct the bugs in the system. No point getting more frustrated.

Yep.

1. Episodes Watched

2. Resume Watch

3. Things Watched

I’m kind of surprised that something so basic as this has not been added yet. You would think they would look at the other streaming services out there to see what works and try to emulate that.

The thing is, they were all there on day one. I saw them and was using them. Then they updated and disappeared. My brother says it still keeps his place on his phone. So I wonder if that stuff was a big part of it not working for a lot of day one and they need to fix it all.

I never saw it on the first day. It did keep my place when I watched The Mandalorian but I never saw different sections for “continue watching” “things watched,” etc..

Yeah, definitely needs a tab which automatically stores everything you've watched so you can get back to it quickly. I'm sort of shocked they don't have that.

I figure they got complaints via social media so they know.

Not sure I will be dipping into this one. Already have more than I can watch with Prime, Hulu, and Netflix. Not a huge fan of Disney and I am not sure I want to do anything to directly support their growing hegemony of the entertainment industry. Also, there isn't really any content on it right now that I care about, other than maybe The Mandalorian.

Plus, between my Smart TV, Sony Blu-Ray player, and Nintendo Switch... I apparently have nothing that can even play Disney+? Seriously? Guess I'd have to go buy a Roku or something.

If you want to watch anything star wars or marvel related that you already don't own it's your only option.

Sure, but that's not that big of a deal to me.

I know Netflix has a ton of crap but they are also the only streamer that--when Hollywood won't--steps up and funds considerable budgets for new passion projects from great filmmakers, like Cuaron, Scorsese, Baumbach, The Coen Brothers, etc. They also have some wonderful foreign films that that they option like My Happy Family, Atlantics, Happy as Lazzaro, not to mention some smaller projects they fund and/or distribute like Apostle, Private Life, and so on.

And I know a lot of Netflix TV is bad or hasn't held up well (hi, House of Cards), but they do have a few truly great ones, like Bojack and Hill House.

That kind of support of marginalized cinema or cinema that the big studios won't take a chance on... that is FAR more valuable to me than Disney continuing to milk their mega-franchises for every last penny they can get. I will be pretty sad if Netflix does get shut down or bought out in such a way that some of these films are never available again. I don't think that will happen but you never know. Just glad that Roma is getting a Criterion release.

I will say that of all the streamers I think Amazon Prime has the most exciting/intriguing new TV projects lined up, so where someone earlier in the thread suggested that Amazon and Netflix combine their forces and Amazon uses all that money to erase the Netflix debt (and maybe only adds in the top 10% or whatever of the Netflix library to weed out most of the dross)... yeah, that could be a real powerhouse in the streaming future and that might be the way that Netflix has to survive.

just came across the „the legend of the three caballeros“. This show is awesome.
The animation style is beautiful renaissance disney and the story is great with awesome monsters and creatures

It was good. Disney didn't promote it or push it at all.

I was rewatching The Little Mermaid, probably haven't seen the movie in its entirety since I was maybe in elementary school, but that movie is just the wrong message to send to little girls. It virtually teaches them to give up the best part of themselves for a dude.

That's some Part of your world BS.

yeah, most of those flicks were like that until they hit Beauty and the Beast. But people would gripe about SJW pandering and **** if someone did complain about it.

It's true. Keira Knightley has talked about how it is banned in her house because of that. :hehe:

That being said, it has imo the best Disney music of all time and I cannot ever give that up. :funny:

So I finally saw Dumbo on this tonight. I was surprised by how much I didn't hate it. It isn't great or anything, and it is like an hour too long. But Eva Green and the little guy got me through it. Dumbo is legitimately one of the cutest things I have ever seen, which is a suprise to me. He looked super creepy to me when they first revealed him.

I too finally got around to watching Dumbo on this last night. :funny:

And yeah, it wasn't bad, but I just usually hate watching anything involving circuses and animal exploitation. so it was just a generally unpleasant watch for me, as I'd expected. Dumbo himself was indeed absolutely precious, though.
