I too finally got around to watching Dumbo on this last night.

And yeah, it wasn't bad, but I just usually hate watching anything involving circuses and animal exploitation. so it was just a generally unpleasant watch for me, as I'd expected. Dumbo himself was indeed absolutely precious, though.

That's one of the weirdest things about this movie. It feels completely anti-animals in the circus. It even ends with Dumbo going to live in the wild. Which is crazy, when you consider how much Disney himself loved the circus. It feels like one big critique of Walt, with him even being Keaton's character. Which honestly explains the hair.

Oh yes I agree, it definitely did not endorse animals in the circus, but I still had to watch 1.5 hours of (relatively tame) mistreatment to get there, which is still not particularly enjoyable.

I am with you there. And considering even tame feels so awful when its with animals that have no control, it is definitely uncomfortable. Especially with that little cutie.

Dumbo kinda just washed over me, and I feel like my biggest takeaway was noticing that Dumbo's flying rarely seems effect people in the wide shots. He can be flying over them and their hair and hats will stay perfectly in place. Unless they need a dramatic closeup of hats flying off. It's a small thing, but it honestly annoyed me given how prominent his flying is to the movie. Set up a fan, dammit!

Endgame will be available on 12th of December (btw. already is in the Netherlands)
So I guess movies will find its way to Disney+ 7 months after the theatrical release.

Am I the only one that finds it odd that this service launched with so little original content? Besides The Mandalorian, is there anything that seems to be a big draw for potential customers?

Not really. Most of the popular streaming services launched with NO original content. They started as resources for people to watch their existing/old faves at, and then ventured into the world of original content at a later point. Disney+ has A LOT of those old faves for people, plus one huge original series and a bunch of little original shows and movies. If anything, they're starting out ahead of the curve. Only reason Apple TV+ has a few more scripted shows outta the gate is because that's ALL they have. They have no back-catalogue of beloved shows/movies to speak of.

Or parents. I know my roommates would have picked it up for Little Einsteins, one of their kids favorite shows, which wasn't shown anymore on cable.

Right now the issues are annoying yes but still so much content on this thing. When I was watching rogue one the other day 2 times the sound stopped and also it was only 1080p not 4k dont known why. Also not having resume option for shows to known like what episode you left at. Even still there is so much content and i could live with disney+ with zero new shows/movies. There are so many cartoons I grew up watching on hear and older cartoon movies I have not seen in a long time that I dont really care about new stuff that much. I dont known if I am ever going to have enough time to even watch what is already on hear has I am a big sports fan and most of my time is taken up by that then playing video games. My time is limited for things out side of that and I find most newer tv now days sucks any way.

They are certainly listening to the feedback, all the tv series are now in the right order . From Spider-Man to X-Men and Avengers etc..

The early problems were caused by the app architecture according to Disney's Kevn Mayer. They apparently were not expecting so many sign-ups out of the gate and are now working to roll out fixes. He expects a re-architected version of the app to be available within the next week or two.

When they bought 20 century Fox it was packaged deal ergo Sound of Music belongs to them now along with Home Alone and other Fox properties

The first like 3 home alone movies are on there and 1-2 I always loved but never cared for them after that. I watched a episode of darkwing dunk, duck tials, goof troop last night. I have not seen those shows in years. I also have watched like 9 episodes of might ducks cartoon. What star wars cartoons are like the best on Disney+? I have never really watched star wars cartoons but I see several of them are on hear. I thought maybe I would give them a try.
