That's one of the weirdest things about this movie. It feels completely anti-animals in the circus. It even ends with Dumbo going to live in the wild. Which is crazy, when you consider how much Disney himself loved the circus. It feels like one big critique of Walt, with him even being Keaton's character. Which honestly explains the hair.I too finally got around to watching Dumbo on this last night.
And yeah, it wasn't bad, but I just usually hate watching anything involving circuses and animal exploitation. so it was just a generally unpleasant watch for me, as I'd expected. Dumbo himself was indeed absolutely precious, though.
