Chris Hemsworth Is Thor

We can speculate either way. Is Hemsworth going to remain in the role opposite a new Steve and Tony? Will Tom Holland remain, I don't think anything is concrete at this point beyond Spider-Man 4 and the two Avengers films?

Is the universe after Secret Wars going to be called the MCU? How about the MCEU? It'll be a weird continuity. I would think audiences would prefer something wholly new from the ground up. I can imagine talented creators being much more excited with a fresh new canvas as well. A cobbled together "new" universe with old faces mixed with new ones sounds more like something made-up by executives for executives first and foremost. I feel cynical already.
The mcu isn't ending in 2027. Thats just your speculation as no one from Marvel Studios stated mcu is ending.

Reboot, or "reset" as Feige has coined it the past year, all semantics until we know the full extent after SW.

Tony Stark and Steve Rogers will be recast. So having a potential mixture of old and new faces is a definite possibility. Also not having (that I'm aware of) concrete contract commitments from Hemsworth or Holland going forward can logically leave the door open for a more extensive reboot ("reset").

Like I said, the soft reset approach is the safer option for the executives and is done more so for their benefit than it is for creative exploration. They would be hedging their bets somewhat against a wholly new creation not being able to stand on its own two feet and compete with the past iteration of the MCU.

As a fan I want a fully new creative endeavor, not a mishmash of new with the older greatest hits.

Cool to see people almost universally cheering this new Thor look, the seriousness of the dialogue and the strong acting by Hemsworth. That’s what people really wanted to see and they are giving us just that.

Only a shame that some people are bashing some other stuff and in a bit of a harsh way. Anyways here are my 2 cents regarding Thor’s last 4 MCU outings and I’m sticking with it.

Thor Ragnarok - Loved it! My favorite MCU film. Taika did an incredible job and completely revitalized the character and the franchise.

Infinity War - The best interpretation of the character with snippets of absolute brilliance. The Russos expertly took the baton from Ragnarok and ran with it, seamless blend of humor and pathos.

End Game - Understood the direction but it just didn’t work for me aside for some small bits. The Russos pulled the rug under Thor and it was at best an average outing for the character.

Thor: Love & Thunder - Had the potential and ingredients to have been great but in hindsight it was just a big wasted opportunity of incredible source material. Taika burnt through all the goodwill from Ragnarok.

Now we’re witnessing a needed course correction for the character and also at the same time trying to salvage what worked from before and rise from the ashes once again.

I mostly agree with this, I personally didn't mind thor in endgame. But I am exicted to see peak Thor again.

Mcu is still ongoing after Secret Wars. You said it will be over and thats just not true at all.

After examining the teaser bit by bit here’s what I’ve noticed and my interpretation of what the footage may show/mean.

- At first we see a what looks like a tired/worn out Thor walking through the forest. He’s seen cleaning his face/forehead and moving slowly.

- Love is seen sleeping in what looks like Thor’s cabin from New Asgard, but she’s also doesn’t look quite right. She might be sick. She also looks worried and is comforted by Thor.

- Then when Thor is kneeling and praying, he’s visibly shaken and worried with his dialogue and his expressions conveying just that, it seems as though Thor is physically drained, likely having already faced this threat earlier in the film and has witnessed first-hand what happened to him and those around him.

- Thor is focused on the task at hand but there’s also some fragility to his conviction, the fact that he has the responsibility to care for Love and the idea that he truly loves her as his child adds a powerful twist, “something for him to lose” as he really didn’t had for a while. Not to mention that Thor likely dredds losing anyone else in his life since that’s what his MCU journey has been all about… loss.

- Also it seems that Thor is away from home, from New Asgard even… could be in a different planet/universe all together. He just wants to come home to Love and be there for her. He prays and looks to the sky to get some help and it seems from his reaction that something might happen.

- Thor asking for the “strength of the all fathers” seems very specific. That one thing is the so called Odinforce or eventually what becomes the Thorforce, it is to say the ultimate power the Allfather/ruler of Asgard wields at every given time. For Thor to be asking for such a blessing is that he probably doesn’t see it as his own just yet and that level of request comes when things are very very dire and such use usually comes with a price as well, if the task is too great or the wielder isn’t quite physically strong enough to wield it.
