Christ... Rogue Squadron? How many goddamn times do we gotta see Rogue Squadron? Obi Wan? Lando? Ashoka? Everybody's favorite Rogue One character Cassian Andor? It's really comical just the lack of imagination they have.

10 SW series? 10??? That's a lot to ask to invest in a franchise that doesn't really conjure up enthusiasm anymore except The Mandalorian. This move seems like a jump skip from the failing movies to shows because The Mandalorian is a success. This just reeks of all Lucasfilm ingredients. Superficial "hot" talent, endless spin offs with no creative new ideas. TWO Mandalorian spin offs? Very on brand of them. They're getting overconfident and now they're going to oversaturate the market with similar and uncreative SW content.

Maybe The Acolyte will be cool? What's Rangers of the New Republic? I want to be open minded about that one, but with no details of it and their track record, I have no enthusiasm whatsoever.

What happened to the Kevin Feige movie? I was genuinely hopeful for that one. I suppose that's dead.

I think the Ahsoka episode of the Mandalorian deliberately had a very different look and feel from the other eps, because that show is gonna have a much more Eastern, samurai-esque feel in general. I’d imagine they will be making similarly concerted efforts to keep these shows from feeling “same-y.”

Yes, good point. Mando already has its own aesthetic compared to all the SW films to date.

I mean look at Disney's culture and their slate. Kathleen Kennedy or not your just gonna get a bunch of spin offs, prequels, and sequels

They have announced so much content and they have yet to touch Pixar and Marvel. Talk about stealing WB's HBO Max's thunder.

I wasn't expecting anything on this level today. Ahsoka, Boba Fett and Bo Katan shows would have been my prediction and I would have been nearly totally wrong lol.

I wonder how Mick Garris feels about it! Fun story: my friends mom dated him for a bit and he was super salty Hocus Pocus is what people remember best of his work. As opposed to.... all the very high quality 90s Stephen King miniseries he directed.

Though I have to question...is there a "future" in Star Wars? They've found most of their success during a very specific period and present day doesnt seem to be that yet apart from the Ray trilogy.



HBO better announce a bunch of Harry Potter spin off shows. And a bunch of DC shows set in the same universe (neither of which will happen lol)

There's tonnes of EU stuff that was popular so it can be done. I think they can mine many different SW eras to get solid material.

Luke Evans was definitely the best thing about that Beauty and the Beast live action movie IMO, but then again I'm somewhat bias because I have loved Luke Evans in almost everything I've seen him in.
