Disney's Enchanted

She was the actress during the soap opera scene. The set was made to look like the bandaging scene in Beauty and the Beast.

Ah...ok! Wasn't she even telling the guy in the scene how she couldn't love someone who couldn't even love himself? Sounds familiar...

The Hairspray, Superman Returns, Rent and Wicked Billboards, were all just coincidental from what I read.

Yeah, they're just part of Times Square. The Wicked, Rent, and Hairspray billboards are still there. Unfortunately all 3 of those shows are closed due to the stagehands strike right now. :csad:

And there was a Hairspray billboard (although it was for the Broadway version, not the movie) across the street from the SR billboard.

The billboard for Wicked was also visible. Stephen Schwartz wrote the songs for both Wicked and Enchanted. Wicked also starred Idina Menzel, who played Nancy in the movie (she was also in Rent, which there was a billboard up for as well).

I also noticed that the manhole cover in Times Square was conveniently located where the theaters for Beauty and the Beast and Tarzan were both clearly visible. Both shows have since closed, but The Little Mermaid is set to open in one of those theaters next month.

Speaking of The Little Mermaid, Patrick Dempsey's secretary was played by Jodi Benson, who was the voice of Ariel. I swear I heard "Part of Your World" playing in the background during the scene in the lobby.

When Edward is knocking on all the doors looking for Giselle, the pregnant woman who opens the door and says "You're too late!" is Judy Kuhn, who was the voice of Pocahantas.

And I saw her name in the credits, but I'm not sure where she was...but Paige O'Hara, who was the voice of Belle in Beauty and the Beast, also has a cameo.

The opening and closing narration was by Julie Andrews, who was Mary Poppins. The couple who wound up not getting divorced were Mr and Mrs Banks, which was the same last name as the parents in Mary Poppins.

That was a fun movie for a Disney fan. :oldrazz: :woot:

Wow thats cool, I can't wait to see it now and find out all the Disney peeps in the film :p

I did notice the billboards in the trailer etc and I knew about Idina (I saw her in Wicked over here she was so amazing in that role)
But I like what they have done there with all the old people who where in Disney films.

I noticed the Hairspray, Wicked, and Superman Returns billboards, didn't see Rent though. I'm sure the creators of those respected works could sue. for unwanted promotion as Mel Brooks did back in '02. Unless of'course, they had permission...

I saw Idina in Rent and Wicked on Broadway, she's terrific.

Found a few more Disney references in the movie:

The TV reporter who Prince Edward mistakes for the 'magic mirror' is named "Mary Ilene Caselotti." That name is a combination of Mary Costa (the voice of Sleeping Beauty), Ilene Woods (the voice of Cinderella) and Adriana Caselotti (the voice of Snow White).

The name of the pizza restaurant is "Bella Notte"--which was the name of the song playing during the spaghetti scene in "Lady and the Tramp." That's also James Marsden singing "That's Amore" in that scene.

During the soap opera scene with Paige O'Hara (the voice of Belle), she mentions the characters Angela, Jerry, and Ogden--which were names of the voice actors in Beauty and the Beast (Angela Lansbury, Jerry Orbach, and David Ogden Stiers).

Now I need to see this again... :oldrazz:

Yeah, the billboards were coincidental. They weren't put there JUST for the movie.

Saw it today, really cute and Amy Adams was a doll.
I did notice The Little Mermaid song playing while she was in the law office and scoping out the fish tank.
Love the big number in the park.
I want to go to a ball, Dempsey was looking extra yummy in his get up.

Just saw this movie, and I was thoroughly impressed. Very charming and pleasant, plus a great sense of self-aware wittiness - highly recommended.

This was one of the better parts because it was pretty much choreographed exactly like the Disney musical numbers are in the cartoons, complete with goofy cuts and extras popping up from nowhere.

Is it wrong that this is like my favourite moive of the year I think lol

It open this week in the UK

Saw it yesterday, I loved it the moment till the end, it was great, the animation part was cool.

I loved the songs and all the refernces to past Disney films.
And I downloaded a couple of songs, I really liked it.

I am going to see it again!

Amy Adams was great, she was just perfect at that role, she made me laugh

And James, oh he was so stupid in it like Pip ''you like the way I jump'' when his trying to explain poison apples lol.

But great film, worth seeing !

Watched it, and loved it.
I swear I heard Aladdin's 'A Whole New World' somewhere throughout the film, in the background.

All in all, no flaws here. I shall be buying this on DVD, singing my way to the shops :o

And when Prince Edward is watching that soap beauty and the beast is playing. the theme.

I'll say the same thing I said in another thread :oldrazz:

Easily one of the best Disney films of all time, in my opinion :yay:
Also easily the best Disney film of modern times (excluding Pixar, all the Pixar films are genius in their own right :word: )
I'm a huge Disney fan,I've seen all the Disney classics, & it is on a level with them, even exceeding some - that's how high I rate it :woot:

10/10 :woot:

This is the best film I have seen in 2007. 10 out of 10.

My face has not felt the tight pull of a huge grin like that for a while. That movie made my day yesterday. The new princess is great. The animation at the start was wonderful. It was really nice to see a more basic type of animation. Oh and Prince Edward. That dude is the man.

"Thanks for taking care of princess peseants."

Oh how amazing that film is. What a story. Best of all the evil which from snow white finaly got her death scene. Gezelle = hot of course. But she was more than a pretty face. Perfect actress for the part.

I totaly noticed that part! Frack yeah!

Well, they are one and the same now, so whoever does better, Disney takes all the credit.

But Pixar has the unquestionably true power.

Separately though, as far as content etc goes, Disney has a long way to catch up if it wants to undo the reputation it has received in recent years.

Meh

Who cares who makes the movies as long as they are made well. Enchanted was so good!

I really didnt want to see this movie. Looked like crap. My wife begged me to go. I resisted. Then we got into an arguement about other stuff, made up, so I felt like I would smooth things out a bit by going to see this in the theatres.

Theatre was empty. Not a good sign. But you know what...I enjoyed this thing. It was cute and fun. And I didnt expect that at all.

For anyone who thinks a movie like this is lame....your instincts would be 99.9999999% right. But this is that rare 0.00000001% phenomenon that will prove you wrong.

Go see it.
