I never would have pegged Cinderella for 19. I always thought she was in her early 20s. The voice actress sounded pretty mature for 19.

I always wondered why Cinderella didn't just tell her stepmother to shove it and leave home. She was smart and hard working and old enough to make her own way. She didn't need to hang around and be abused by people she wasn't even blood-related to. But that's the fairy tale!

Different time period, different social/gender standards.

Anna............sure is something...........lol

the original Snow Queen story protagonists, Gerda and Kai, are in Frozen........sort of.....

just finished reading the screenplay. it's pretty much how I had envisioned it based on the stuff I had read previously. except now all the missing pieces have been filled in.

It's a good story, and I liked it.

there was perhaps a bit more humor in it than I had expected, due mainly to Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven, and the interactions/chemistry amongst those characters.

The story does take a rather serious turn in the final act, leading up to a very emotional climax. I'm sure seeing the actual film will make the finale all the more powerful.

I also liked how the song numbers flowed "organically" from the dialogue. like they are talking through the songs and continuing the dialogue along.

iow....the songs felt like extensions of the dialogue........if that makes any sense.

make no mistake, this is a musical, and there are a good number of songs.

so, overall, it was an enjoyable read and I can't wait to see the film!!

And yes, Anna is super adorable......very Rapunzel like.....which is a good thing, imo.......lol

But I'm still on Team Elsa! Big sister Elsa FTW!!

Would people have been turned off to the film if they kept the original protagonist names?

Can you sell Gerda?

As a nuturious yogurt snack, sure can! :D

There are some low quality recordings of some of the songs out there (They were being played in a Disneystore).

Low Quality but WOW guys. This Soundtrack is a day one purchase for me.

Only listened to bits and pieces from each song, but I really loved what I heard.

I just can't stop listening to Let It Go!! It's so raw, powerful, and moving. You can really feel Elsa's pain and sadness, all the emotions she's been holding back for 13 years. And then just letting go and embracing who she is and her powers.

It's a liberation/empowerment anthem, and the lyrics and Idina's singing really convey that.

I even love Demi Lovato's cover version of the song.

And For the First Time has such a lovely, sweet melody. very flowing. and quirky and whimsical........just like Anna! lol

Both songs capture the essence of each sister. But both songs also convey the sadness and loneliness both sisters have had to endure for so long.

I had my doubts about this film, too, but I'm even more excited for it now!

I made the mistake of not seeing Tangled in the theater. I saw Brave, but that was Pixar. So Frozen will be the first non-Pixar Disney animated film I'll see in theaters since........Tarzan.

And an animated film has to look really good and interesting to drag my butt to the theater to see it......lol. :oldrazz:
