finally got around to listening to Olaf's In Summer.

it's a cute catchy little tune.

But poor Olaf......he's so optimistically, hopelessly naive............. :(

and the ending with Kristoff and Anna.

"I'm gonna tell him."
"Don't you dare."

lol

in listening to these songs, I'm getting a very "broadwayish/show tunish" vibe from them. And that's probably no surprise because the songwriters come from a broadway/theater background, I believe. Yes?

and not just the melodies/lyrics themselves, but the way they sort of weave dialogue and singing together, making the talking more "sing songy."

and then you have dueling melodies/singing going on at the same time ( as in For the First Time and the Reprise ).

reminds me of some songs from Les Mis or Phantom.

Sounds like Robert and Kristen-Anderson Lopez are the new Menken and Ashman.

I wouldn't go that far yet, but I think they've definitely got a bright future with Disney if they want it.

Saw this movie back in October, finally able to release a review about it.

In a nutshell, this could've released in 2nd hand-drawn animation back in the day and still had been an inevitable classic! This movie is mother ****ing incredible.

Aside from a revelation toward the end that might deter some people. Fantastic animated musical!

Nice:

This movie is mother ****ing incredible.
Good enough for me.

What songs do you think has a better shot at oscar? Let it go or for the first time in forever.

fantastic!!

so, is Elsa a platinum blonde throughout the whole film or does her hair turn silver/white at some point?

also, how's Elsa's Let It Go musical number? is it as spectacular as I'm hoping it will be?

and, is the revelation towards the end referring to

[BLACKOUT]Hans?[/BLACKOUT]

Either...or even Do You Want to Build A Snowman has a great chance!

If I remember correctly, it always maintains hair color...it's everything else that gets saucy.

It's one of the best sequences in the movie and perhaps Disney animated history. ;)

Yep...there may be valid points behind why the twist is a good twist though. Such as
never judge a BF or GF by mere first impression and stunning appearance...a moral lesson for kids to think before they choose while dating lol

thanks!! what do you mean by "saucy?"

and that's great to hear about Let It Go!! I'm looking forward to that scene the most!! I hope it wins something, and I hope Frozen wins something.

about the ending.......

how sad and emotional is it?? especially when [BLACKOUT]Hans first tells Elsa that Anna is dead and she falls to the ground crying. and then when Anna uses her frozen body to shield Elsa from Hans' sword strike?[/BLACKOUT]

speaking of Elsa and Let It Go, here's an interview with Idina which contains some new footage from Let It Go.

The interview may contain spoilers..........haven't listened to the audio yet. so beware.

It's emotional but not like Toy Story 3 emotional, just very profound.

And I mean saucy because Elsa covers up her whole body and conceals herself for a while, and then she..."lets go" and shows off some skin. And it's kinda sexy, for a Disney movie haha.

well, y'know.......Elsa's up in that huge castle all by herself......so...........:o

speaking of that, does Elsa go back to more royal dress/look by the end? or does she stay in her Snow Queen look?

I don't want to say anymore but think from a story perspective, what do you think? :D

I would think yes because she officially becomes Queen of Arendelle again by the end. So she'd dress more official like she did at the beginning, but perhaps not as conservatively (like without the gloves). Am I right?

Or maybe I'm wrong and she retains her Snow Queen dress and look because that's "her true self" or whatever.....

Glad to hear how much you loved it, Spideyfan. Thanks for sharing! I getting really stoked for this.

hey, is anyone kind of worried that Disney isn't marketing this aggressively enough?

I was talking to a friend the other day and if I didn't tell her there was a new Disney animated film coming out Thanksgiving, she would have had no idea.

that's just an isolated instance, of course. But I don't really see any tv ads or anything.

When Despicable Me 2 was coming out, there were all kinds of tv ads with those minions......

And it seemed fairly late in the game when Disney released the trailers........

I really want Frozen to be a hit critically and financially at the BO.

It practically has the family market all to itself for the holiday season, so it should be just fine.

hope so.

I'm really excited for this and I want it to do well and not flop......lol

I don't expect this to flop, but I do agree that Disney needs to amp up the marketing campaign.

It's got Thanksgiving and Christmas pretty much all to itself. Tangled made 200 M domestically and Wreck-It-Ralph came close (with competition from Rise of the Guardians last year). If this is as great as all the early word of mouth is saying, I can see this passing Tangled.

I wouldn't want it to be shoved in our face every two minutes though either. DM2 was a good flick, but damn it if I wasn't sick of seeing a Minion on tv or at a bus stop.

I'm really hoping the Elsa trailer will be attached to Thor when I go see it this weekend.

.

They are hitting all of the key demos, we have seen a million Frozen commericals. I'm guessing we are watching different channels. We watch a ton of Disney Jr and Disney.

Plus they are holding a ton of pre screenings with moms/women bloggers/parent bloggers who are then blogging their thoughts to their thousands of followers with pictures etc.

Disney Frozen has taken over complete sections in the toy department. Like half of a row is dedicated to Frozen. I don't have a problem one bit with their marketing campaign.

I'm kind of concerned about the seemingly sparse marketing.........

but then I guess I'm not watching the right places.

hopefully people are aware of this film and it does well critically and BO wise.
