Django Unchained

LA Times:

On a cold, wet afternoon two cowboys trudge across a muddy street in a western town carrying saddles on their backs as a loud speaker blasts Jim Croce’s hit song “I got a Name.” The scene was being played out at the historic Melody Ranch in Santa Clarita , where director Quentin Tarantino was filming his upcoming western “Django Unchained,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx.

"It's a blast shooting here," Tarantino said to the Los Angeles Times in a break from shooting. "Most other western towns look like dollhouses. This has the complete look. It's fantastic."

I want set pictures. Now.

In Santa Clarita? That's like 30 minutes from here...are they still filming there and is it possible for outsiders to go in and watch?

I wonder if he can top the opening scene of inglorious basterds?

Yep. Playing Dr. King Schultz.

I really can't remember the opening scene from when i read the script, but I think I remember it being really good. I recall a cool scene with Waltz' character and some guys on horses although I'm not sure if that's the opening.

the opening scene is nothing like the one from basterds... but in involves waltz though... (like PowerCosmic said, thats the one)

I hope so. Maybe something involving the good Dr. Schultz's knowledge of dentistry coming into play in his new career as a hunter of men.

Hopefully we get more set pictures soon. Movie is sounding great so far.

Oh, dear god. This is all way to good. My heart can t take it. I can t stand the greatness of this movie. I want it NOW.

Wait, Garret Dillahunt is in this movie? He is a preposterously underrated and under recognized actor, but to a certain degree I think it works to his advantage.

It's Tarantino. Has he ever not had great opening scene?

He was one of my favorite parts of No Country For Old Men. "Awww shoot Sheriff we just missed him!" He played a dopey, inept cop to perfection.

He just visited the set. Based on what I read, that was the same set for Deadwood.

By the way, I don't have the link at the moment but it's Tarantino related.

Did you guys hear they're making an adaptation to the prequel novel to Jackie Brown? John Hawkes will be playing a younger version of DeNiro's character.
