i think it would be awesome!i would love to see that,i was reading the new issue of astonishing x-men and i was just wondering,'jee, this comic would be so much better if kitty looked like ellen page and colossus looked like daniel cudmore.'
does anyone agree with me?its not that i dont like the art its just doing that would be so much cooler
so wolvie would look like hugh
emma like who ever(personally,id go with kelly carlson but not many people know who she is so than id go with charlize theron)
colossus like dan.cudmore etc

:woot:

No, I dont. Most importantly, Daniel Cudmore and Ellen Page are way younger than the Colossus and Kitty in the comics.

Although, there are a lot of concepts I like from the movie. I liked the uniforms being, well, uniform. Although they have already made the suits more alike in the comics for some time now. Plus they downplayed Wolvies hair in the first two. I think it is the most changed part of his appearance when artists change.

i dont mean the exact look in the movies,i mean facial features and such, keep their comic costumes and stuff

fair enough,its just my opinion

Well, they tried for awhile to make Lady Deathstrike look like her movie compatriot.

The Ultimate Universe does that alot....

Why don't you change the comic book characters' names to match the actors while you're at it? :down

I think that would be too limiting to the artists. Every artist uses earlier versions of characters as the basis for their interpretation. I wouldn't want them to try to draw Marsden or Jackman, I want them to create their own Cyclops and Wolverine.

Besides, with all due respect to Patrick Steward and Hugh Jackman, to me Xavier will always look like Yul Brenner and Wolverine like Harvey Keitel.

Keitel??? The hell? :woot:

And as for the original question... NO.

I think it departs from the creativity that an artist possess if they have to compromise to facial features of the actors. I mean, thinking about it, there would be a lot of artists right now that will be out of commission. Like Bachalo for instance. The only two artists I know who has potential to make their drawings of the heroes look exactly like the actors, are Greg Land and Mike Deodato. I think that they're style is very realistic, and I think they can always pull it off. I swear, in Endsong, there are some panels, that Jean actually looks like Famke Janssen.

No. Especially since Marvel has never really gotten over the ethnic stereotype thing. The last thing we need is more bad assumptions now mixed with the lack of ethnicity from the movies.

This is the one of the MANY reason why I can't stand Greg Land, Jim Lee.... Not only are his characters uber generic, they body and FACIAL structure for each woman is exactly the same. It's a sad shame. People already whine about Storm not being "African" enough, imagine what Halle's bi-racial features are gonna do, because as of right now that's what's happening. I mean for christ sake look at M. She's got that Micheal Jackson skin disease.

I know people don't want to here this but it's the one thing that Oliver got right in UXM. In the last arc she's modeled with a wider nose, wider mouth, longer neck and the darkest skin I've seen her with in decades which I'm am delighted about. Hell know that I think about it she's starting to look like Alex Wek, the super model. If you don't know who that is SHAME ON YOU.

Here let me show you

Oliver's Storm

Alex Wek (First super model recruited, like in '99, with African features outside of dark skin)

Now let's look at the widely over hyped Greg Land and his muse...
Notice the lighter skin tone, smaller nose, thinner lips, smaller curves...the only thing that stayed the same was the long neck which unlike everything else, it is a universal sign of beauty.

and lets see the muse and why there is an unwelcomed difference between Wek and Berry lookwise for me

Seeing that isn't a good thing. Watching storm go from African woman with cat features, to paler and paler with smaller and narrower features that are considered attractive to a mainstream world is a slap in the face. Watching her being modeled after a woman with no African features is a punch in the gut to this Bermudian girl.

I have nothing against Berry, most people here know that. But If I see her in a comic book I will set something on fire. Either Alex Wek for the Storm model or NO ONE AT ALL. Not Iman, not Berverly Johnson, not friggin "I want nothing to do with this" Angela Basset. NO! All of those women have Western features.

well some already do do it and its not entirely bad. The last rogue mini series covers were definitely inspired by anna paquin and anna has been referenced relating to rogue because she had a piano poster in her house.i think she is the most referenced in 616. Ultimate is based on the movie universe so it wouldn't surprise me one bit if the actors are referanced. i can definitely see jackman in ultimate wolverine and well xavier and patrick stewert are identical anyway :p

read this post...

actors should be more cast to look like their comic book counterparts, not the other way round...

there is a diference between should and the reality though. We all know it SHOULD work that way but it doesn't a lot of the time

NO! Because it doesn't work for everyone, therefore it needs to get thrown out. Like UXM. Did you know that Wolverine is now taller than Storm, and almost eye to eye with Cyclops. How long is it before Wolvie towers over him to? I loved how in 60# it was clear that Storm had at least an in over Wolvie then in #78 he's three inches taller. WTF! If Hugh wasn't tall, LIKE HIS ORIGINAL COUNTERPART, Ultimate Wolverine wouldn't be going through puberty.

I really don't want Rogue to look like Paquin, who more often than not looks scared and like she doesn't want to be at the mansion. That would defeat the purpose of 616 Rogue. UXM Rogue = X3 Rogue who is annoying, whiny, horny, and bchy. Meh. Panquette can't draw and Oliver is inconsistent. Once again, meh.

I think you should probably check out the movie adaption comics if you want to see those

No,the characters already have a good likeness on their own.The movies is what partially ruined the X-Men.Older readers like myself..know what i mean.

Same here and I vote NO!

I couldn't stand it when characters such as Jean, Cyclops, Rogue and Wolverine were being drawn to resemble their movie counterparts.:o And I'm glad Marvel says X3 will not be influenced on the 616 universe like the first 2 were. It's also true that movie casting should be based on qualities and reseblences to the comic characters and not overratedness.

but changing a drawing style shouldn't be even an option...

i quite hate when comics are changed to fit in with movies, its highly unnecessary where the characters are potentially from different universes...

it's quite tacky and takes the viewer/reader out of the story.
