So I'll ask again, would I be aware fully if I had a trojan on my computer? It seems to be acting fine, but I don't really know what to look for. My internet connection is strong and isn't lagging or anything and everything appears to be normal. But I didn't get any trojan message or anything when I was on the site.

So would I be aware if I had a trojan or not? I have no idea.

Trojans kinda will get something into your computer under the disguise of something else. You may not notice any differences in regular performance, likely it will do something without you noticing like open it up to hackers to play with. You gotta be really careful. I'm going to do a virus scan now.

Also, clear out your temporary internet folders.

i wouldnt worry too much about getting a virus from fwoosh, unless your downloading something... usually they have to find a way in.. either through downloading or opening a file... i know the only site i ever got one from was from trying to download a MP4 converter for my PSP

I'm not a genius with computers, but I think trojans can sneak their way as a temporary internet folder or a cookie. I remember that when the trojan I got from fwoosh yesterday got deleted, it was located in my temporary internet folders.
They just get in, mess around with the code of certain programs and pretty much open the doors for hackers.

Thanks bud. I didn't even think about the temp files. And I'm correct in thinking the only thing I really have to do is do a disk clean-up to delete those files right? Just making sure there isn't any other way they could be hiding. But I did do the disk clean-up, so hopefully I'm good.

I actually had the personal address of an admin from a trade we did in early 2006. Not the fwoosh addresses most of them use now.

I just was tutoring a kid over the proper usage of those words...

Anyways, I'm sure some people did freak. I do like fwoosh in some ways, and don't in others. I like it that it's such a large community that there's always something to look at or read. New customs, toy sightings, people's pictures of stuff in the general figure thread (where I'm becoming a regular), the action and funny picture threads. It's also fun to jump into the "community" forum where people talk about random stuff. I do enjoy our little group of people here quite a bit more, but fwoosh offers more info for me to go through while I'm bored at school.

As many of you might know by now, fwooshnet.com was hacked Saturday August 25th.

The hackers used a brute force attack that went unnoticed until after 6 days when they finally got in. Once in they created some havok.

There are 2 terrible things that occurred from this malicious and cowardly attack.

1. They now have the ability to point fwooshnet.com to phishing and trojan horse sites. This is not content designed by me or my staff.

2. They compromised my e-mails. My e-mail is no longer fwooshnet at fwooshnet dot com, pablolobo at fwooshnet dot com, redelephant at fwooshnet dot com, admin at fwooshnet dot com. If you are receiving emails from these addresses they are not from me.

None of the data regarding the elephant inquiries prior to the attack are damaged.

We are still going to proved red elephants, but there might be a minor change to our logo...

My apologies to the users of fwooshnet since this impacts them the most. They want to log on each and everyday to see our content, but are pointed to something else.

Our content should be up and running soon.
