Hi.
I was wondering for a couple minutes about something. From Luthor's detailed map, his description of the destruction his krypto-continent (i call it Otis-berg) would cause, as well as Lois' claim that millions (wrooooooooong, Billions!) would die after Otis-berg finished forming, I got the impression that we'd see 'The day after tomorrow' effects on the United states, and possibly Canada (I'm not sure if canada would be hit too)... I imagined it'd be like a whole continent submerged in a gigantic tsunami wave, like we may have seen in the day after tomorrow (Decent survival movie.)
But then of course wasn't that. The worst Otis-berg did was cause a baby earthquake and slowly kept growing without other efects on the world. So I assumed it'd slowly flood America and Canada in maybe days or weeks, not hours. That made me think we'd have time to escape somehow.
With that in mind, how do you think an angry America and Canada would react to this slow flooding of their lands? If we couldn't Nuke or atomic bomb (or whatever) he hell out of Otis-berg, would we have a plan to escape to another country?
My idea would be that we'd recieve aid from the national guard, airforce, airliners, and every cruise-liner service available. Each transport would be packed with people. Yatchs and other boats would be used too. And they'd make round-trips back and fourth between the Us/canada and whatever part of South America is left, transporting people from the us/canada to somewhere else (yes, it'd be like katrina, but less chaotic since the flooding would be slower.)
I don't know if there's precedent for this sort of scenario though. Have we ever had to evacuate an entire country in the past? Is it even possible?
thank you for your time.
