Do you ever have dreams that are memories?

The ones who dreams about stuff that will happen in the future.

it would be cool if i was. if i could dream the future, i hope i have a dream of me winning the lottery soon.

i dont really get all into dream interpretations and stuff, cuz most of the stuff i dream about is stuff i experienced or thought of throughout the day.

i probably had that dream cuz she's my best friend and we talk a lot and had talked earlier that day.

Agreed. A lot of times you just dream about nonsense!

yeah my dreams all always usually random and they seem to jump from one thing to the next

Funny, I also had a few cases of "Déjà Vu" myself. They usually happen a long time in advance though.

For instance, I've spent a decade having a recurring dream happening in the subway, going up the stairs and meeting someone at the top. Spent years wondering who that person was, until the dream finally came true a few years back and I met the person face to face in the same circumstances.

And just now I met a girl at work and we had a conversation that I dreamed of over a year ago (same location, same person, same convo subject, exact sentence), way before I even knew the area where I work now.

I also had a dream once where I was in bus that was crossing a bridge and it got attacked by terrorists in another bus (that was years before 9.11) and I hopped on a glider and pumpkin bombed their asses :D !

I wish that dream would come true :( ...

i keep having recurring dreams with tidal waves, but fortunately i haven't had one in a while. knock on wood.

the majority of them, i'm at the beach with friends and the waves just start crashing on the beach, growing bigger and bigger. everyone's trying to get away, but i always seem to have trouble. the waves grow to gigantic sizes and just keep coming.

until i wake up. i pretty much hate those dreams.

Did you dream up the person's face as well? I always wondered this.

water
Universal symbol for emotions. How water behaves in a dream always is significant. Rising water indicates rising emotions. Turbulent, choppy waters, in which a dreamer fears being swamped or drowning, symbolizes being overwhelmed emotionally. Tidal waves may symbolize specific threats that “loom in the distance.” Being caught in a swift moving current suggests being “swept up” in one’s emotions. Cloudy water suggests lack of emotional clarity, and fears of emotional contamination. Swimming or bathing peacefully in water symbolizes a comfortable immersion in one’s emotions. The ability to breathe underwater indicates accessibility to unconscious feelings and awarenesses.

tidal waves

Due to their association with water, tidal waves are common dreams representing disturbing feelings and awarenesses that threaten to “overwhelm” the dreamer. These fears usually are specific, rather than global. Can you identify what area of your life is emotionally challenging, that you fear may “swamp” you? If we run from a tidal wave, we are wondering if we will “survive” the emotional upheaval. Diving under recurring tidal waves indicates a willingness to “meet one’s challenges.”

well thats just great

I never dream. And when i do, they are nightmares. Zombie nightmares to be exact. I'm always getting chased by them and sometimes i get bit by one and it hurts...

At the time, I probably do. When I dream of people I don't know I've got a clear picture in mind and I go through my "memory banks" to see if I can find a match. But since my dreams come true so long after the fact, I tend to forget the specifics and all I remember are general informations (general location, height, weight, clothing style, long/short hair, spoken words, etc...).

in the latest "Déjà Vu" case, it was easier to remember because the location had such a distinct look that I've never seen anywhere else and it wasn't that long ago that I dreamed this (around 1 year) that I still remembered more specific stuff about it (such as my exact words).

a lot of my dreams are me fighting against other people. i usually chalk that up to my reading comics.

it seems the weapon of choice in my dreams is mostly knives.

though one time, i had a dream i was shot, and it felt like i really was shot physically, the pain seemed like it was tangible

Back in 1995 I had a dream that I was having a threesome with Xena: Warrior Princess and her lesbian partner, Gabrielle. Then, suddenly Kimberly (The Pink Ranger) joined us.

What does dream doctor have to say about that?!

That dream sounds like something I'd dream... in America!

When you're in your 20s...you consider something 45 to be old.

Funny, I never have. But then I guess I always guage it by expiration age.

Sometimes in my dreams, things I see, other places, the future, the past, old friends long gone.

most of my dreams are about my ex or about my teeth falling out.
:cmad: <---angry about teeth dreams.

I had a concussion once and was knocked out....a few months later I had a fever dream about what happened while I was out

For me, dreams are just further proof that we all have a spiritual 'soul'. And that it is not bound by time or space.
