Lucid dreams?

I've had maybe one of these in my entire life. I spend too much time daydreaming anyway, a lucid dream would be a waste lol. I like to put the ol' brain on auto-pilot when I sleep

Yeah, I've had a couple. In one, I was coming out of a store when I realized that I was dreaming. As soon as I realized it, a person tried to kill me. I was able to get away for an instant before they shoved a katana through me. It was one of the first times where I died in a dream. After the stab from the blade, I was over a waterfall, then nothing. I woke up later.

Allegedly, we dream every night, but can only recall some. I'm not sure why. I don't take this type of thing as an omen or sign. It was just a strange dream that passed.

Honestly, I've been a little more concerned with people who've told me that I was in their dreams.

I've had a couple. I once started speaking to someone else in the room during a sleepover and realized my mind was playing tricks on me. I more often get night terrors.
I'll be sleeping and the dude in the dream will grab me or hit me and next thing you know i'm halfway across the bedroom all wtf is this shiznit.

I am able to control my dreams about 80% of the time. I usually remember in vivid details the dreams that I do have.

I first realized that I could control my dreams when I was about 10. I had just watched the first Nightmare on Elm Street and had just gotten a waterbed. *cue Johnny Depp scene* I knew that Freddy was fictional. When Freddy appeared in my dream I knew that it could not be real. He came at me with his claws and I made Wolvie claws appear on myself and kicked his ass.

From that day forward there have been very few dreams that I could not control. Most of the time I know that I am dreaming and can manipulate what is happening in the dream. There are the occasional dreams that I know that I am dreaming, but I cannot control them for whatever reason. Those are usually the worst dreams.

Out of my own morbid curiosity, can anyone else die in their dreams? I know that it is said that people will die in real life if they die in their dreams but I do not. I can't count the times/ways that I have died in my dreams. I'll fall off a cliff or be burned alive (not being able to control the dream) and I will wake up. My heart is beating a mile a minute and I'm usually sweating but I'm still alive. The 3 other people that I know that have actually died in their dreams have been a Sagitarius like myself. I don't know how that would have anything to do with it, but it seems odd to me.

Yeah, I've died in a few dreams and I'm still mostly alive.

Here's an interesting site I found about Lucid Dreams. It explains in detail what they are and they have tutorials and how to train lucid dreaming.

For example, while awake in your daily life, you should do reality checks several times a day. Looking at your surroundings, trying to notice anything out of the ordinary, and actually asking yourself "Is this real?" So that when your dreaming, that behaviour carries over and you do a reality checks in your dream. So if you should see a blue dog, you'll ask yourself "Is this real?" and with luck, you'll be aware that you are dreaming.

yeah sometimes I just go with it. kinda cool

...but a few months ago I had a dream, it was weird, then I woke up, things got weird again, then I woke up...it happend a few times (in that one nightmare). I was so freaked out! after the second time I "woke up", I was like, wtf? am I really awake?

it was like the nightmare nap version of Groundhogs Day or something. Way later after thinking about it and talking about it I realized it was like a symbol of how I felt trapped in my life (from situations I was in at that time). Thankfully life has changed alot since then =)

but dam it was wicked scary

I thought this was going to be a thread about the latest Franz Ferdinand single of that name. It's a great song.

i have the exact opposite.

ive had two dreams so far where i have convinced myself that it was not a dream, in said dream.
