Hello, I was wondering if anyone on the Hype has ever had a lucid dream? If so share your stories.
Lately I've been trying to have them. I'm not exactly sure if I have been, as I usually cannot remember my dreams once I wake up..

Try LSD.

I've had them a couple of times, sort of. They've been nightmares, and I've realised that I'm dreaming and have been able to will myself to wake up.

I haven't had a fully lucid dream, where I do whatever I please. I would like to though.

I've had plenty of dreams where I realize it's a dream. Usually something bad has happened in the dream, but when I realize it's a dream, I'm OK. It's like, "Oh no, I wrecked the car!!! Oh, wait, I'm dreaming. Nevermind, it's cool."

The weird ones are when I realize that, not only am I dreaming, but that I've dreamt it before.

I had a Lost dream ... sort of. I was walking with Kate in the rain and we ran up a flight of stairs to the porch. Before we came inside her place, I kissed her and after I pulled back, we stared into each other's eyes until my gaze drifted towards this incoming car. It was Sawyer. I could see his eyes locked on me, giving me this "Im gonna kill you" kinda of look. *gulps*

So anywho, weeks went by. This part is a little weird though. Jack and Sawyer were in the living room doing I dunno what. Kate was in a different room with a bunch of other ppl. I had to talk to her and when she noticed something was wrong, I blurted out that we shouldn't be together because of Jack and Sawyer still fighting over her, despite how much I still feel about her.

I told her to let me go but she pleaded me not to leave. I said I was sorry and left the house...

then I woke up, thinking...wtf was that!?!

I've had, what I guess are 'semi-dreams' where I'm falling asleep, yet I'm dreaming. I know I'm not fully asleep (i think), I can feel stuff, and I know whats going on and what I'm going to say and I can control some stuff. Its usually when I fall asleep on my couch and I'm leaning on my head a certain way. Really weird stuff.

I have had lucid dreams, and they're actually quite fun

I have them quite frequently. I'm not sure how I realized I'm dreaming within my dream. Usually I just use the opportunity to fly (corny I know).

Damn you. :csad:

I've tried to use lightning and crush objects telekinetically a few times but I had to really concentrate and woke up. When I lucid dream, if I try too hard to make something happen it usually wakes me up.

Does anyone else hate the word "Lucid"? It just sounds weird...

When I was a kid I had kid-type nightmares.... you know, the usual.... monsters chasing me and trying to eat me. So the dreams used to scare me a lot. Eventually, I got to the point that I became a lucid dreamer. When I found myself in a dream with scary monsters trying to hurt me, I would recognize it was a dream and I would just "ignore" the monsters. Then I would be able to fly around and do whatever I wanted, and turn the nightmare into a happy dream about whatever I wanted....

...when I hit puberty I would have dreams about school work and homework assignments being overdue.... I would recognize I was in a dream with these too. Since my hormones were raging, I would change the dream from being about freaking out about homework assignments to a dream about whatever hot girl I was crushing at the time. Then the dream would turn into a wet dream as me and the girl would....

well, use your imagination ;)

As I got older, I stopped remembering my dreams. I hardly remember my dreams or dream at all anymore.

Greg

I have definitely had a lucid dream but like most dreams they fade fast and i couldnt possibly remember one.

Funny, I just watched Waking Life last night.

Ive had a few really freaky lucid dreams before, but with my lucid dreams comes a state of sleep paralysis, its somewhat normal with insomniacs. who get irregular sleep.

Anyway with sleep paralysis one part of the brain is asleep possessing some of the dream while your right brain is awake, so happens the side thats asleep is the side that affects motor skills or physical movement and it impairs speech, it feels as if someones sitting on you holding you down and covering your mouth, it lasts for 5 minuets until the other side of the brain wakes up the sleeping side.

anyway i had a really bad lucid dream, that vampires were attacking my town, and there were few survivors, i went to my grandparents house, and looked into the sky, and its as if there were some apocalypses **** going down, the sky's were red there was smoke everywhere, i found my grandma mutilated and vampires were coming after me, thats when sleep paralysis took in for me...

i realized i was somewhat awake and i realized i was dreaming but it was still a freaky dream and i was trying to call out to my parents who were on the couch 4 feet away, and they said they heard me gasp for air and say something... but they didn't wake me up... i woke myself up a few minuets later. it was possibly the freakiest dream ever.

i get SP rarely now, any one else experience sleep paralysis?

i liek the world lucid too, sounds like acid, acid makes me think hallucinations, and hallucinations makes me think of cool psychedelic music, neon lights, weed, cartoon like
shrooms black light posters and such things =]

well, in one instance, when you use the WILD method (Wake Induced Lucid Dream) you do see and hear hallucinations at one point

You mean you see things/people walking around like in an episode of Ally McBeal. Heh, that would be actually kinda fun. Would make the day less boring.

Anyway, I did have a couple lucid dreams before. The first time I had a lucid dream I was impressed by how realistic everything looked. I kept walking around, inspecting my surroundings. At one point I tried to change the location by just opening a door. Of course nothing happened and I just stood in a normal hallway.

Then I ended up in a theater watching a movie, and talked with Christopher Walken I think.

Some of the others I can't remember too well. The only other lucid dream that I can slightly remember had 3-4 big Gorillaz trying to dogpile me. >_> I froze them in time though and they just stood still in mid-jump. Avoided heavy damage there. ^_^

Now I'm actually reading up on lucid dreaming on the internet and try to condition myself into being aware that I'm dreaming. Once that's accomplished I'm going to practice dream control. Already managed to freeze Gorillaz, next step, flying and shooting energy beams Dragon Ball style. :D

Is this lucid enough for you?

I did once and it involved me controlling lightning.
