I'm a writer and artist for comics [not professionally], and I'm working on my own series with some friends. We've got our own little group going that we're trying to build up so hopefully we can get something published...

My family knows of this, yet whenever I say anything about the immaturity of my 15-year old sister or my 13-year old brother, I hear, "You're the one who still likes Batman."

For one, my brother still watches Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents.

My sister is in a military-wannabe group, and thinks she's cool because of it.

Yet I take a simple interest in comics [more like graphic novels] and get slammed for a lack of immaturity. You guys ever hear this from peers or family members?

Stan Lee likes comics, look at him.

Also i get no pressure from my parents. if i want to do something i think they would be all for it. My life after all

no, i just get called a nerd.

then i remind them that quirks are sexy.

then i get laid.

i don;t get that...but i do find it odd how people who can tell you ever football player in the history of a club and what years they played are cool and i'm a geek for knowing that spider-man was cloned:huh:

Next time she saids that, show her Infinite crisis #7 where Batman holds a gun to Alexander Luthors head or where the Joker blows said persons brains out.

^^I find it hilarious that people all say, "Football players can fight!"

Yet I get slammed for supposedly being gay [as I'm a cheerleader- I can assure you I'm straight]. Whenever my mother mentions me being a cheerleader to customers at her work, they immediately ask her if I'm gay.

And she says, "Would you have asked me that if I told you he was a black belt?"

Male cheerleaders do get to stare up female cheerleader's skirts all day.

I KNOW! That's my point.

The football players go and grab up all over each other all the time.

Yet I get accused of being gay after coming home from a practice filled with ass-grabbing, short skirts, and damn fine-lookin' women.

Your brother is going to spend his life having his butt kicked and your sister is a lesbian. :(

LMFAO.

Those are the EXACT words we say about the two of them.

My brother is also a black belt, but he feels the need to pick fights all the time, and he's getting to the stage where he has to try to prove he's something over me.

Only difference is, he doesn't train hard at all, and never got a lot of the lessons I got from my old instructor.

He can get bigger than me all he wants, but he's awfully slow, and doesn't put any effort into training.

Most kids with black belts went to 'belt factories' and are pretty useless in real fighting. But I'd worry about your sister if I were you.

Oh we worry about our sister.

But as for the "belt factory"... These black belts are legit. He used to train well around the time he got it, but now he's slacking off and looking for any excuse not to.

I know what you're talking about though, those are usually called "McDojos".

There's a lot of un-credible people with black belts out there. Too many people with huge mouths and not enough to back it up. One kid came to me asking me to teach him how to spar better, then threatened to whip my ass and [yes he actually did it] kill me.

See the irony?

I watch both of those shows time to time and no one dare ever start with me.

And how old are you?

If you'd like, I'll take a road trip :-).

You're a male cheerleader and are surprised people call you gay?

And your bro is 13 and you're surprised he still watches Spongebob? Dude, I'm 18 and I still watch Spongebob.

All I'm reading here is emo.

It is for that reason, I never have and never will accuse male cheerleaders of being gay.

Sloth: your net-thugging is hilarious.

Harlekin: I brought up stereotyping, which is what we're discussing.

Get over it and add to a legit conversation, or just leave. I'm not whining, I actually find it ironic and funny.
