I know it's premature since we haven't seen apocalypse yet so it will be interesting to compare things later on after the movies release but would you like Bryan singer to continue making these movies? Or would you rather a new director take over?

In the end I know it's not up to us its up to FOX so this is just an appinionated thread.

realisticly if fox wants the next X-Men film for 2018 that probally means with 20,000 league sunder the seas begining filming In the fall that he will only produce the next full X-Men film and possibly take over as director in following film.however if mystery july 2018 film is spin-off film and next X-Men film comes 2019 then he may do it.

Yes because of plot he gives to movies, no because of X-Men costumes.
So he better hear what fans want, and step up.

I want him to direct the next followup movie to this one - meaning the new young crew of Cyclops, Marvel Girl (?), Nightcrawler, etc. He turns out good quality movies that I enjoy.

But I say that knowing we have a New Mutants movie coming out, a Wolverine movie, and a Gambit movie. They can bring something new to the table.

Yes. Directed two of my favorite comic book movies.
No. Variety is the spice of life, yet I'll be highly critical on the next X-Men director.
If New Mutants is the next big one, Josh Boone should be fine in that chair.
Even if he's no longer directing them, I'd love for Singer to still supervise this universe.

Yes, X2 is still one of my top 4 comic films.

Someone I'd love to see as much as Singer (if not more) is Matthew Vaughn. First Class is a really close second to X2 in my book and probably would have been my favorite had Vaughn & Co. had more time to work on it. Some really amazing moments in that film.

No. His movies are efficient. But not very interesting. This is 2016: Marvel is now at a point where they introduce a character like The Vision with no explanation of his powers and the general public, the same people that ridiculed comic book geeks in the 90's and before, now accept it. They are the new geeks. My point? I think the time is ripe for us to get the balls to the walls X-men space extravaganza that the best of Claremont provided us in comic book form. I don't think Singer has the vision or interest for that. I want a director with a ballsier touch to take the X-men into the dazzling places I know it can go to.

I'd prefer a change for the main X-Men IP with someone else in the creative chair.

But Apocalypse could change my mind.

except withe xception of phoenix space stories are my least favorate X-Men stories. You take X-Men into outer space and they become just another group of heroes.

I really don't care what marvel studios does.many of their characters i have never cared about like X-Men.why is people want to turn X_Men into something else.

Singer could continue to stay on as a producer and oversee the films, but I'm ready for someone new to direct.

Matthew Vaughn

Suggestions?

Singer only if original cast is coming back one more time.

New director if they're moving on with a new cast or reverting to Marvel.

1-they aren't reverting to marvel

2:next film will likely continue with Mcavoy,Fassbender, and new actors brought In with Apocalypse.

this trilogy is just as much singer's as original was.he wrote the story and produced FC,produced and directed DOFP and wrote the story, produced and directed Apocalypse.

Singer can tell a good narrative but my main issue with him has always been the numerous boring or completely non existent character personalities. Cyclops, Jean, Rogue, Iceman, Colossus, Bishop, Blink, Warpath, Deathstrike, Sabartooth, Storm etc. They are either dull, just for action or just nowhere near their comic counterparts character potential.

The minute he gives someone actual character (Nightcralwer, Quicksilver) the audience loves them. If he can fix that issue then I have no problem with him staying on as Director.

Oh someone brought up the space angle. Yeah, Singer without hesitation.
If he never gets beamed up from minor cameo to director of Star Trek, make that so.

I like Vaughn, but he seems more suited for spinoff features, unless he can channel his Kingsman specialty again.

Suggestions?
Matt Reeves, Alex Garland, Bong Joon-Ho

I would be fine either way. I'm sure there are plenty of talented directors out there for the job. But if I'm answering the question now? Yes. He will direct the next X-Men film. It won't be the 2018 mystery film but it will be summer 2019.

Really like this one

I would like Singer to take a break from X-men films. Do some other stuff, let him grow as a filmmaker.

Let him chill out for awhile. This franchise could use new blood and I'm sure there are talented directors who are also fans that would be frothing at the mouth to work on an X-Men film.

Matt Reeves is a good idea and quite realistic and Alex Garland would be cool, but I don't think Bong Joon-Ho would ever do something like X-Men.

I dont see them waitin to long to make another X-Men movie as they will wanna keep as much momentum from X-Men: Apocalypse as they can, so 2018 or 2019 is most likely, no later then that

Besides his parents, I think of myself as Bryan's biggest fan.

He has yet to make a film that genuinely didn't work with one glaring exception: Jack the Giant Slayer. A film made out of contractual obligation and lacked the energy and drive usually in his work. Even if you didn't like, say, Superman Returns or Valkyrie, you can't say his heart wasn't in it.

That was such a soul-crusher he needed a film that would get his creative juices flowing again, and he did so in Days of Future Past. So much so that I honestly didn't want him to helm Apocalypse. He got what he needed outta revisiting the property he built (Granted he played a very big hand in First Class including the story, casting... and other areas that we won't get into here).

There's nothing to suggest red-flags should be raised at this second X-Men sequel-to-a-prequel-turned-reboot (Everything from the designs, footage, etc. looks perfectly fine) and I'm sure the finished film will work.

But yeah I'd rather he aim his directorial attention elsewhere, at this point. Bring on 20,000 Leagues.

No. Let the franchise go. It needs new blood and we've been dealing with the same themes and stories repeatedly. X-2 is up there with one of the greatest cbms ever. But it's time for him to move on. Variety is good.

I'd be more than fine with Singer doing more obviously but I would love to get some new directors in the chair for a movie or two.

If he can bring his form from Astonishing X-men, I would love to see Whedon in the directors chair. I can imagine him being a kid in a candy store getting to play with all the females in the franchise. I can imagine total overhauls for Jean, Storm, Mystique and especially Kitty Pryde.

Remember that the only critically acclaimed X-Men films have been Singer's films, the dude knows what's best for this franchise.
