In more recent years after it was popularized by Todd McFarlane, if I recall correctly.
The snout faced Lizard is his most popular / iconic look. Plus, artists were drawing him with a snout before McFarlane famous run. Lastly, McFarlane's Lizard wasn't that recent...that was the early 90's - which makes that awesome version of Lizard nearly 22 years old.

Ditko's version has always been the Lizard for me. Personally, I'm glad they're paying him some homage. Every time I see a comment about how this "doesn't look like the Lizard" I![]()
