The Amazing Spider-Man Does a Lizard with no snout bother you? If so, why?

Does the lack of snout bother you?

I am okay with the look I quess they wanted this version of the Lizard retain his human features in the face. I do wish he had a longer snout and some sharp teeth. O well I will save my final judgement until I see some actual footage of the lizard in action.

Agreed. He looks too human, detracting from the character's central theme of his loss of his humanity, making him less tragic.

Yeah, I'm still reserving judgment on his look overall. I'm glad he resembles Ditko's Lizard, but I think his teeth should be sharper and thing like that. We'll just have to wait and see.

Anyone else think this Lizard's face resembles Freddy Krueger's face in the recent A Nightmare On Elm Street remake?

I like the concept art a little less now. It's good, but it could be better. However, from what we've heard, it's going to look better on film.

Am I the only one here who really LOVES the design of the Lizard? It seems like it :csad:

I do too. I'm glad that apparently it's going to look better, but I wouldn't ***** about it if it looked exactly the same onscreen.

I think it will look exactly like this on screen. Regardless of what RIM said.

What people seem to be missing is the fact that he DOES have a snout in this picture. It's incredibly obvious if you compare it to the pictures from SDCC. His mouth doesn't end where his lips are in this new photo, it ends way back on his face (you can see the lines where his mouth ends on his cheeks).

And he still looks like he has pretty big shoulders and muscles. Maybe not as big as in the final version, but he's still pretty muscular.

I mentioned that before too. :funny:

Even the people who run Superherohype mentioned on the front page (regarding this piece of art) that he looks similar to the SDCC footage, only in there he's much more massive.

http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/168937-the-lizard-concept-art-from-the-amazing-spider-man

"In the concept art, The Lizard looks similar as to how he did in the Comic-Con clip, though he was more massive in the clip, so this may be an early version."

And in the news thread, someone who's seen the footage said that the Lizard looks pretty much exactly how he did in the footage.

I'm willing to bet that we're not going to see any drastic differences outside of a size change in the movie.

What SHH said was that he sort of looks like the concept art...

The quote's up there.

It says "similar".

And besides, we've got someone in the news thread who said he looks exactly how he did in the SDCC footage.

Anyone's who's expecting a drastic change is going to be disappointed, because this... is basically how he's going to look in the movie.

Take it or leave it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but was there not a leaked picture somewhere that shows the Lizard with his snout on a side shot? That was a rhetorical question... there is. It's a side profile of the Lizard and his face looks like a raptor off Jurassic Park, he's licking two girls in a bathroom. This is mid-transformation, 100%.

Troy, I don't think anyone's arguing that it's going to be drastically different, but I still think there will be large improvement, just because we'll get to see him living and breathing which can oddly make things look a lot better. For instance, I think a lot of the Spidey costume haters on here will like it a lot better in action. Similarly, I think the Lizard will look leaps and bounds better when he's ****ing **** up. I also think he'll be a little bit bigger in terms of musculature.

If I were to scale the overall look between 1-10 (10 being FANTASTIC) I'd honestly give it a 5 or a 6. It's interesting no doubt, and I admire the mindset of it attempting to look like the original Lizard; that much I really do, and appreciate what Webb is aiming for.

I guess I'm not so thrilled about it because I'm a hardcore Batman nerd and this kind of reminds me of Killer Croc. LOL Or I should take that back, it looks like anyone or anything, it looks like Reptile from Mortal Kombat.

Everything that I have seen for myself so far from Amazing Spiderman, I honestly believe it looks only okay for the moment; at the same time, the reasoning behind this is because I think Webb is holding out on all of the good stuff and the next trailer, photos, and promotional stuff that we'll see by the time it releases should be getting better. I wasn't a fan of Spiderman's costume at first, but it grew on me after we got a little more of idea of what it's capable of and such. So I'm not going to abandon on hope yet. :word:

I have faith in Webb, no doubt. I won't keep my hopes up too high after SM3, but this already has so much potential, and to me, an A List Director and A+ Cast so far.
