I think they want him to be able to talk. That thing talking would have come off...awkwardly.

It wouldn't be awkward at all. I'm sure they would've found a way to make it look convincing if they had chosen to go in that direction. The way he looks now isn't very threatening... in fact, it looks kind of silly. I'll hold my final judgments until I see some official footage of him though.

The lizard did have a snout in the leaked comic con pics, why doesn't anyone see that? No, it doesn't just look like it, he clearly has a snout

He has a snout. Not as long as most versions of the lizard, but the snout is still there. Also the Pretty Much It guy (he saw the comic con footage) said that the face looked pretty flat from the front, but from the side you could see the snout. Remember, we have seen the pez lizard only from the front

I'd be very suprised is the concept wasn't for 'stage 1'.

think about it, conners will peform the test and regrow his arm, everything will be peach and then at a later stage his continual metamorphosis will hive him scales and a tail and then the final transformation will give him his size and bulk.

Actually, werewolf movies have accomplished snouts with special effects, as shown in this picture from The Howling.

That's from a movie called Bad Moon not the Howling.

You know maybe this isn't the Lizard at all but one of the suposed SWAT Lizard men that's rumored to be in the film?

If that is the final lizard design then I'm kind of dissapointed I would have prefered a longer snout ala the 90s cartoon design or TSSM Lizard design.

Speaking of him tlaking, I'm really glad they whent that route with the character, Lizard talked in the comics, and i always felt that if he was put on screen, talking should be included.

The only problem I have with the look of him is that he actually resembles Scorpion more in terms of silhouette and shape. But I'd be happy with this look if it turns out to be not the only stage of his evolution.

I'm willing to bet it's the final thing... and that the side view will reveal that he does in fact have a bit of a snout.

It's definitely the final and only stage but he will be bigger and scarier on film. He won't end up having that lean body type and won't end up having that Scorpion-ish look to him. I'm willing to bet his physique well end up looking like this:

Tough to see, but I guarantee he won't look so slender.

Yup, I imagine this is how he will look (similar to this). If you can imagine looking at the Lizard from the front, his face would indeed seem more flat like in the concept art.

After reading many pages about Lizard's snout (or lack there of) and no lab coat, here is what I think -

1. The lizard may be going through many stages of evolution, so in one pic it may look different than the other pic.

2. They cannot give him 100 % snout like that of a crocodile as that shape makes it difficult to talk like humans do, this is speaking from anatomical point of view.

3. Lab Coats are designed to be used by humans to protect them during experiments, but after transformation why would Dr. Conners need a Lab coat ? Does Venom wear any clothes ?

Maybe they wanted Lizard to look like Dinos (Raptors ?) as raptors have some features are like reptiles and some like birds.

He doesn't wear the labcoat because he needs it as the Lizard. It's more of a thing where he transforms while still wearing it and never takes it off.

This Lizard from the comic con footage definitely has a snout and looks very reptilian.
