The Amazing Spider-Man Does a Lizard with no snout bother you? If so, why?

Does the lack of snout bother you?

  • It bothers me alot

  • It bothers me a little

  • It doesn't bother me at all

  • I actually like him without the snout

He really does! And more evil eyes and grin. I find it weird that all of his body has become so reptilian that he even has great claws and a long tail, but his face hasn't transformed much at all (and I'm not saying that he should have a long snout but at least he should look more scaly and reptilian in his face, as his body does)

Agreed.

The only nitpicks I have:

1. I think the teeth should be sharper... or at the very least, less human looking.

2. The eyes should be more reptilian looking, the whole part human and part lizard thing works for the face, but you don't want it looking too human.

Agreed. I would add the Lizard should have 5 fingers and 5 toes, and maybe change the color of the claws to black (like those of a real lizard).

He should have a snout/tattered clothes for the same reason spidey should wear red and blue.

That's his iconic look. That's Lizard.

This image just looks like something from x-files or babylon 5.

At least he's not going to be a talking Velociraptor. Yay!

The snout isn't really that iconic. To my knowledge, he really only started to look like this:

spider-man-reboot-lizard.jpg

The-Lizard-Comic-Book-Character.jpg

In more recent years after it was popularized by Todd McFarlane, if I recall correctly.

i will be sadface if that is the actual lizard design we see in the movie. He looks like something you would see on star trek sans the tail. i hope we get a huge, awesome, hulking, scary lizard.

rim:

lizard looks way better, bigger and scarier, than the one on the promo art.

dude, it's not even close to what was shown in that sdcc footage. That thing (yes, it's damn scary) was huge, deadly and sinister.

This is a prime example of why the labcoat should still be there. In this picture, he's freaking massive, yet his labcoat is still there, and ripped.

And it looks ridiculous in that picture. Furthermore, he looks more like a dinosaur than a human-lizard hybrid in that picture.

You can pull that off in the comics, but if his clothes doesn't stretch, it'll look damn stupid with him almost three times the size of a human, and his clothes staying perfectly in place. Except for a single rip. Look at his clothes, the artist actually drew his clothes a hell of a lot bigger than Curt Connors is.

In live action, that wouldn't look as good. Even ripped clothes would simple fall off of him, his arms are thicker than Spidey's entire body. And this looks to be the size of The Lizard standing in front of those two girls.

Agreed. I'm not saying that the labcoat should be removed, just that I don't want a huge Lizard like in that picture if it's going to be kept.

I'm not disappointed by the lack of snout, but there is something cheapo SyFy movie about this design overall. He doesn't look all that menacing.

That would look ridiculous onscreen in a live action movie.

Look at how HUGE he is in that picture, yet the sleeves are still rolled up, the coat is only a little tattered and slightly torn at the shoulder seams.

l0lwut?

EDIT: Oh, and he still has his t-shirt on in that picture too. :hehe:

I'm hoping there'll be a scene when (after he transforms) he shrugs/claws off the remains of his labcoat or something. Would be a cool little wink to his comics look.

I think we should discount the PEZ dispenser and promo art for now. RIM has stated more than once that both are a pretty poor representation of how menacing the Lizard really is on film.

I think the PEZ actually looks quite menacing. The concept art however doesn't

He didn't for the Pez dispenser. Which is what confused me... but nevermind.

lol

Yes. RIM has confirmed that this promo art is a horrible representation of the final product.

Don't worry my children, everything will be okay.

I should hope so, as that thing looks awful.

it bothers me a little, i really can see the reasoning as it allows the actor to bring more to the character, but and i stress but he looks too human if thats possible with green skin and a tail

i'm not looking for mcfarlanes full own alligator mouth but i do feel the mouth/ nose area should be extended out more than it is, but its a front face shot so it still could be

I guess we'll have to wait for an official release from Sony. Hopefully soon
