I'm begging Sony to release a movie still so we can get over this **** and know what we're going to be seeing from this character.

I think this design needs more reptilian eyes, teeth, 5 fingers, and perhaps a lab coat/clothing.

The more I look at the concept art, the less I like it

I think the whole 5 fingers/claws thing is a bit of a nitpick. Sharper teeth are needed though.

He should have 5 fingers. Both humans and lizards have 5 fingers, so why shouldn't a hybrid? Sharper teeth are definitely necessary, however.

We're only nitpicking about the claws because we're looking at a still photo. If we saw him in action first, this wouldn't even be an issue. It just doesn't matter.

I was talking about the fingers. It bothers me because there's no real reason for the Lizard to have only four fingers.

You're only noticing it because it's a still photo. When he's moving, no one will/would have care/d. That's such a small thing to be bothered over. Not to mention the fact that some reptiles/lizards do have 4 claws instead of 5.

Of course we're noticing it because it's a still photo. It's intended to depict the design. Just like the photos of Spider-Man's costume were.

Anyway, most lizards have 5 fingers and toes, as do humans. What artistic reason is there for there to be only 4 in this design?

lol now it's "most" lizards have 5. If there are lizards that have 4, like I photographically have displayed, then why does it matter anymore? Some lizards have 4, maybe the Lizard is one of those lizards.

So do we know when the trailer is being released yet?

December 7th or is that just a rumor?

Well the studio wanted to spend less on the reboot. So the guy in the suit is what they've done here than fully realize the Lizard in CG.

It's most likely going to be December 7th or 8th. Somewhere around there. There's a film expo going on and since this lizard blow up happened, they're bound to release something. If not then, then on December 21st with Tintin or Dragon Tattoo.

Hi guys, anything new going on in the last couple months since I've been hereWAIT A MINUTE! WHAAT?!!!?

Anyway, I'm holding out hope that we're actually going to get several different looks for the Lizard as he goes through his (hopefully) slow and gradual transformation from human to Lizard form.
The Pez dispenser would seem to indictate that there will be toys made based on this more humanoid, flat-faced Lizard, but that doesn't mean there won't be more transformations (and more toys depicting the various Lizard stages ... more money for the toy companies, right?).

I said "most" because the photo shows a lizard with only four digits.
The Lizard traditionally has 5 fingers, as humans and most lizards do. This Lizard has only four. Is there really any artistic reason for this change?
And the face also is too human for a character whose central theme is his loss of humanity.

It's still a lot of heavy CG work. Rhys was in a green screen suit.

I doubt it. Otherwise, they would have just shown one of those stages instead of this one to show the fans what they wanted.

I'm calling shenanigans on that photo -- the iguana's thumb is just hidden from view behind the folds of cloth. Iguanas have 5 fingers and toes on each foot.

And anyway, why would Curt Connors have less fingers when he transformed into a lizard ? Despite the Marvel Comics tradition of monsters with odd numbers of digits, the Lizard isn't one of them, nor should he be.

Agreed.

They didn't show anything other than what was shown at comic-con and that one had a snout I believe.

I am okay with the look I quess they wanted this version of the Lizard retain his human features in the face. I do wish he had a longer snout and some sharp teeth. O well I will save my final judgement until I see some actual footage of the lizard in action.

You can see the ComicCon video still frame of the snouted Lizard in the comments section of today's io9.com article about this.

If that's the finished Lizard we're going to see on screen then I'm a little disapppointed.

I was expecting way better.
