I've latley gained an interest in the concept. Has anybody been successful in training themselves to have them?

A better question; if you could only lucid dream or regular dream which would you choose and why?

Yeah, and whenever I have control over my dreams I use them for X-rated purposes. :o

I did for 5 seconds. I was trying to read a book, & I couldn't. That's when I realized I was dreaming. I put myself on an Island, & then I woke up.:csad:

You can never know if you are lucid or not in dreams, cos you might be dreaming you are lucid but you are not.

oh man. I had a lucid dream one time too, that only lasted seconds. I was on a rooftop and I realized I was dreaming, and my first thought was to be spider-man. I leaped onto the edge of the roof about to websling totally excited, but before I could websling I woke up.

I was really pissed about that.

If regular dreams are an attempt by your subconscious to solve problems your conscience mind can't then would a lucid dream interfere this process?

And does the idea of rapid eye movement disturb anyone else?

When I have the perfect opportunity to have one, I always have to be righteous and shun it because normally it's with people I shouldn't be dreaming about. :o

ok how do you train yourself

^^You just think about controling your dreams, its somewhat of a subconscious(sp) thing...like hypnosis.

I love lucid dreams, I use to have them a lot but I dont get them as much. The coolest lucid dream I had was when a whole bunch of people were trying to kill me and I destroyed them all with telekenetic powers and avoided their attacks by flying.

For a dream, it was very entertaining

I heard that tensing yourself up and trying not to fall asleep while laying down helps. Is this true for you?

 Could I get a brief yet informative description of what a "lucid" dream is?

I put myself into a mindframe that I will have a lucid dream... if it doesn't work the next night, keep doing it. If your susceptible to trances and hypnosis, there are files out there that can help your subconscious trigger lucidity more.

You can also take vitamin B6, but always be careful on how much B6 you take, you can overdose on B6.

For me, it took me 2 weeks until my first lucid, and that was with the help of a prescription pain killer. My next lucid was very short and came another week later.

For some, it takes days, others, it takes months... you just got to keep at it.

Okay thanks. And no I haven't had one. Why would you want to control you dreams anyway?

Because dreams oftentimes feel very real, and would be wonderful way to live out fantasies/adventures.

I realize I'm dreaming a lot, but am still powerless to change the events. :csad:

some of my best dreams have been lucid dreams... it gives me a chance to live out my greatest fantasies and experience my most erotic encounters

Would those be D.I.L.Ds?

possibly... so far, the only method that works for me is the FILD, or Finger Induced Lucid Dream

Would chanting about what you want to dream about before you fall asleep help you achieve a lucid dream?
