Joker card at the end of BB, and Arkham immates on the loose.
Batman as a fugitive, with Gordon and him lying to everyone at the end of TDK.
Thor and Jane separated with the BiFrost destroyed. And Loki didn't die.
Captain America waking up 70 years later.
Well, all the post-credit scenes of Marvel movies are unfinished plots left for sequels.

What we are talking about is plot points directly related to the hero's origin that are mentioned at the beginning of the film and then dropped.

I wasn't aware Frodo destroying the ring was part of Frodo's origin. Maybe I got it wrong.

Perhaps I did not explain myself then. Yes, I was talking about things integral to the origin, like Peter finding the man who killed Uncle Ben.

Either way, all those issues raised (apart from the Superman one) happened in the final act of those movies and were directly related to the plot of the sequel.

Regardless, I don't think either of us will be changing our opinion so we may as well drop this.

Personally I am of the opinion that the original franchise still had so many places it could go (Sandman still alive, Symbiote still alive in Connors Lab, Lizard unexplored) and it seems a waste to reboot it. Green Goblin and Doc Ock will be hard to tackle from here on out because of the fantastic performances of the 2 actors who played them in the Raimiverse.

There's nothing wrong with leaving a plot point to be resolved in a future installment. It only becomes an issue if a movie doesn't get a sequel. Imagine if there was no TDK. The Joker card at the end of BB would've just bothered people if nothing came of it, but since that obviously didn't happen it wasn't a problem. So I don't see why the unresolved plot points in TASM are such an issue for some people because they could easily be tied up down the line.

"everything doesn't have to be rebooted, this was unnecessary" who gives a crap, honestly. When can you really say that a movie is necessary? it's a form of entertainment, and one could argue that even good movies in a sense weren't really necessary to make

I would even be ok if Marvel rebooted Spider-Man in like 10-20 years, because I really like Spider-Man, so I feel no need to complain about it. Remakes too, why do people hate them so much?

I was very excited for Spider Man 4. I could not wait to see where they would take the character and was pumped at the thought of seeing the Curt Connors character we had come to know becoming the villain.

To set up a whole mythos like that (not to mention the financial gain) and then abandon it seems wrong.

People who say the franchise was dead because of Spider-Man 3 are kidding themselves. If that was the case, TASM would have bombed but it clearly has not (though it hasn't made as much as the Raimiverse, film by film).

I wouldn't be surprised if the conversation went something like this:
"It is taking too long to make this movie. Raimi isn't playing nice with us this time and we are going to lose the rights if we don't get this done soon"
"Screw it, reboot it"

Kraven, Electro, Lizard, Carnage, all waiting in the wings and a cast people had grown to accept in the roles over 3 movies. What a waste.

I'll be fine with that if they'll tie that right into the dc cinematic universe. The next version obviously needs to be very "modern comic book batman"

People hate remakes because you are essentially asking them to pay for something they have already seen. The can remake Spidey till the comes come home and I will watch it but if they remade Blade (for example) I would be like 'do we need a remake, you Sony top Snipes, this is way too early' pretty much what people were saying about Spidey. But with that said, if they DID remake Blade if the trailers looked good I would watch it, even though I love Snipes' take on the character I would give it a chance.

If there's a tv-series you don't care about you just don't watch it, but suddenly when remakes are made people are like "ooh they are making me pay for something that I've already seen!" if you don't care, don't see it. Nobody is making you pay for it

No, but if no one watches the remake then the movie will be in trouble so people not liking the idea of remakes is a problem for studios. If enough people said they will not watch ASM and the movie tanked then you wouldn't get a sequel and for me at least that would be a crying shame.

I'll admit that I was initially discomforted with the announcement of a Spider-Man reboot, but there are a lot of things that came to fruition that got me to look past the fact that Raimi and Maguire were out. I couldn't care less that it happened so soon.

Let's be honest here, if MoS opens on Krypton and we see the destruction and the space ship landing on earth and then Clark getting used to his powers, I can't talk for anyone else but I'm going to be thinking, 'I've seen this, when are we going to get to something new and fresh?'. This is exactly what I was thinking when I was watching Superman Returns.

it is a very good movie but when i really look at it

- peter still the cause of uncle ben dying
- uncle ben is still the reason for him to become a hero
- costume idea is still pro wrestling influenced
- still hunts down the killer of ben
- still has a villain he has a personal connection with who just happened to have a split personality like norman as goblin did
- still gets bullied by flash

and much much more i feel they should'nt done an origin since all of these elements in this film were so similair to SM1

There are certain RT scores I don't agree with (Hurt Locker too high, Predator 2 too low) but by and large their scores fall in line with my opinion on a movie.
