Does anyone feel as if they've spoiled the movie for themselves?

You guys are sony's dreams come true. Piece by piece they could give you a whole spidey movie, spoiling everything from the fabric of the costumes to a piece of pixilated debris falling to the ground in the last CG shot and like sheep, they know you'll flock in unspeakbale droves, throwing away your money at footage that you all would have ultimately already seen.

*Claps*

Does being condescending ever get tiring? Some people are just entertained differently by movies.

I myself feel that I spoiled myself too much. Normally I don't mind spoilers at all (except if it's Sixth Sense format), but with the previous two Spider-Man movies I didn't know the main story, which was always a pleasant surprise in theatres. Now that I have already read the Spider-Man 3 novelzation because I couldn't wait any longer for Venom, I feel I have spoiler myself a bit too much.

I love getting hyped for a movie but I know my limits, which is something that cant be said for most of the people here. I avoided the spidey forums for the most part up until about late november and since then have allowed myself to know about certain things surrounding this movie. Granted, some are huge spoilers but aren't big enough to spoil or ruin this movie for me......but I've never complained about it and never will.

I understand what you mean. If I complained about the movie being spoiled because of someone else-- that would just be hypocritical. But, do you agree that there is a distinction between reading plot points and seeing large amounts of footage before the movie comes out? I know the major elements of the story, and I suppose you can say twists, but I don't think it will take away from the experience of the movie (at least, for me.) If I were to watch every single clip released for this movie, however, I probably wouldn't be able to say the same.

Makes sense.

However, for those who free willingly choose to expose themselves to major spoilers, watch every clip and behind the scenes blog, read every article, the novel and what not and then complain about it all, is just plain ******ed.

pshh i wanted to know everything i possibly could haha

If people here feels that already know half of the movie, is because they wanted to, by reading the novel, the script summary, and every kind of spoiler that appeared.

Speaking for myself, I haven't read any of that, so the trailers doesn't show everything for me. Knowing parts of the movie (most Sandman fights, Gwen Stacy's story, etc, etc etc), I know I haven't spoiled the movie for myself.

And something I don't get. 3 months ago everyone was complaining about 'not enough Venom', now that he appeared in the latest trailers, everyone is "oh they've spoiled the Venom surprise"...

Seems like nobody gets satisfied with anything.

D!

PS: Sounds angry but is actually a friendly post :O

for me its more of the visual aspect i could be spoiled but 2 it happen brings me joy

I haven't been spoiled. I am still going to be amazed when I see the film. I have read the novilezation but I haven't seen what happen's so technically reading it is a little bit different than seeing it. and beside's, there is still scene's we have not seen befor, so we shouldn't get nervous that now we already know what's going to happen. either way I'm still excited and very happy that May 4th is here. there is over 2 hour's of this movie and we have seen hardly 10 minute's of it. it's not like we have seen half of the film.
anyway, I'm glad that for the past 3 year's I have been reading and watching spoiler's which have gotten me very excited to see this film.

well, ive avoided all spoilers, so i basically know what happens at the beginning, and what happens to harry at the end, the journey in between, involving brock/venom, sandman, gwen, and m.j is still a mystery for me.

First time ive been unspoiled in 5 years, and im loving it.

I feel like I've seen too much. When I go to the theater to watch the movie, I am already going to know what happens. It's going to be like "Oh this is the part when... and now this is when... oh Peter should be doing this now... oh yeah and now this is happening..."

Perhaps I just feel that the trailers have shown too much, and I've spoiled a lot of the surprise for myself, especially now that I know what Venom looks like. I'm a little pissed at myself.

well, i read the whole book....actualy i skipped to the end first...but anyway, hows that for spoiling? i wish i could wipe my mind with one of those things from 'Men in Black' on the last day of everything ive seen about sm3 in the past 2 years....lol

23 days WHOOO

The fact that I seen tons of photos and footage and read the novelization won't ruin my movie experience.

Oh don't worry , in the next couple of weeks Sony will be bombarding your TV set with a 1,001 different commercials that by the time it actually hits the theatres you will have seen the whole movie in one and a half minute segments

I've soiled my self.....um spoiled myself.

I shall avoid this place after the world premiere.
Mayb I'll leave the net until the damn movie comes out.
I hope I can do it. :csad:

Nope, I can't get enough of the spoilers. The more I know, the better. Just makes me anticipate the movie even more.

For me, knowing what to expect just makes me anticipate seeing it done on the big screen. I hear about something, or read a description of something, or see a teaser of it, and I think "Wow, can't wait to see that, or can't wait to see the whole thing done on screen".

The Spider-Man movie's need to be SEEN... you can't really ruin it by READING... even IF you know huge spoilers.. This is what I've learned way back when seeing "2"!

I worry about it from time-to-time...so I avoid spoilers like the plague now that the movie is so close.

Then why are you in the Spider-Man 3 spoilers section? Like to live dangerously, eh? :hyper:

Anyway, I avoided the novelization thread so I'm as happy as a clam.

Suprisingly, there isn't much more spoiling "news" in here anymore...
