Does anyone know whats going on with Squadron Supreme?

Well, I was alluding to Thor. I know it's a hotly debated subject whenever it comes up among Superman and Thor fans, but I thought Busiek's portrayal of Thor in JLA/Avengers was utterly awful. He goes down after a couple of punches and a blast of heat vision. That's par for the course with Busiek, though; he always writes Thor as little more than a ham-fisted bruiser, and not even a particularly powerful one at that. It's no wonder Thor loses in that context, since Busiek apparently doesn't even know about 9/10ths of Thor's powers.

Didn't superman say Thor was the toughest person he ever fought. That counts for something.

That fight certainly didn't seem like the toughest fight Superman's ever fought. That line really just came off as a "sorry Thor fans, here's something to kinda-sorta-almost-okay-not-really-at-all appease you" sort of thing.

I remember thinking Iron Man was the Avengers MVP in that story...He seemed to get the most lumps in, even knocking out Wonder Woman at one point.

Yeah, I don't know what kind of Avengers power hierarchy Busiek has in his head. :(

Thank you Corp! I'm glad I wasn't the only one upset about the Thor/Supes fight! Biggest bunch of BS in comic writing! Supes shouldn't have been able to stop Mjolnir! His biggest weakness in DC is magic but all of a sudden he fights a Marvel character and it no longer applies.

On a side note, I..................kind of forgot you was a big Thor fan, is that right Corp? :O

I have an interesting question. Wouldn't Thor hitting Superman be the equivalent of Thor hitting a normal man anyway? One of his weaknesses is magic, and Thor's hammer is certainly magical.

For that matter, wouldn't Captain Marvel DESTROY him on the same logic?

It differs from writer to writer. Some writers portray Superman as simply being susceptible to magical spells and attacks specifically geared to take him down, others show him being hurt more than usual even if he's just hit by something magical in nature. So, depending on the writer, yes or no.

Yeah, he got choked by the snake's apparently super-powerful constricting action.

In the recent Defenders mini by Giffen, Uma pretty much ****s the Hulk senseless.

It was hilarious. That's the sort of out of continuity superhero comic I'd gladly spend money on.
