Not that Hollywood would actually lower prices...just that for very expensive movies they would raise prices, give out a promo poster or free download when that is released etc. It's already happening for a few movies.

Personally, I'm sick of blockbusters to the point where I am waiting for the DVD of movies I would have seen at the midnight premier in previous years. HOWEVER...if there was some mega-event in my town for Avengers 2 where tickets were 40 bucks but I got some cool stuff etc, I'd absolutely pay it.

Yeah, but their fries....

Yup. Stuff like this is impossible to judge. Too many things factor into it. Alot of the highest grossing films are actually quite good. Just cause it makes money doesn't guarantee one will like it, doesn't mean it's bad either. There are high rated films that people don't care for or find of good quality. Nothing matters but the viewers opinion.

This is what I mean haha...

Titanic, Avengers, Skyfall, Jurassic Park, Toy Story 3 and The Dark Knight. If those films are "nothing really great", then I personally have no idea what kind of meter people judge quality on. One even won Best Picture. Those films rightfully deserve the money based on being very high quality entertainment and filmmaking imo. They will be and remain classics in the years to come.

Well, I enjoyed some of those movies, but I wouldn't put any of them in top ten of all time or something. Jurassic Park was mediocre, Good visuals for its time, but not much of a story. Avengers was just another dumb blockbuster not much better than a typical Michael Bay-movie. But then again, I'm kinda tired of the whole superhero-thing. Been there, done that

Man, Jurassic Park to you was mediocre? We should encourage more modern tentpoles to be like it; about the world building and BUILDING UP scenes. Like how we didn't see a dinosaur till the 30ish minute mark. Even then, the T-Rex intro was a slow burn and it was and still is engrossing.
