The Amazing Spider-Man 2 does peter actually show intelligence?

as much as i really adored the raimi films one of the things that buigged me about maguire's peter was that i never bought that he was actually smart. i mean the rest of the characters in the films were beliavable but peter never actually felt real to me and one of those things like i said before was his intelligence. whenever tobey tries to say something smart it comes off rather cartoonish and just made me laugh. now i meant geeks and nerds before and despite them having being goofey and energetic they have been shown to be rather enthusiastic and somewhat passionate. when maguire does it it just feels very comedic. sure in the second film he talked to doc ock about some science stuff but the other problem i have with maguire is that he never uses his head nor was ever being proactive. the only time where he figured out to do something in battle was when peter uses those pipes to make noise vibrations to weaken venom.

for gafield we haven't gotten enough of it. people say he created the door lock but to be honest i just found out that almost anyone can do that even 12 year olds. just go check them out on youtube. the only time we see him show off his intelligence was when he created the shooters. and sadly in the second film garfield was so dumb that he doesn't know the meaning of magnets nor batteries which i question why were those in there.

so were there ever moments that peter showed off his intelligence in both tasm 1 and 2?

My head canon is that he managed to reverse engineer that formula and changed some parts of it.

I think people get abit overboard with criticism when it comes to Peter and his intelligent, many act like Peter should know everything and be automatically super intelligent but don't you have to learn, practice or study something in order to know and use that intelligence work with, it wouldn't make Peter dumb at all, if he read something and quickly understood it and made it work for him... Then he is hardly dumb

In TASM he shows a lot of intelligence, it does seem like his mind is always ticking away, like during the creating the webshooters for example

that is true but i wish we would've been showed more like the extended making of the web shooters that was shown in one of the pre visualizations. one of the best things about the first iron man film was that whenever tony tries making the suit we felt like we were the ones making it so that what i would want in the movie especially how he makes the costume to show he dilligent he is.

infact i wish he was part of the oscorp field trip instead of stealing that spanish kid's ID. really sony?

even when talking and sloving math equations maguire's delivery is just cartoonish and hilarious. it also reminds me of filbert from rockos modern life when doing this.

Gwen may have come top of her class (almost certainly because Peter was distracted fighting crime) but how many people on the planet could have created a miniaturized web firing unit out of spare parts?

I never got if Peter simply copied his father's equation or completed it.
Was Conner's never able to use the equation because Richard simply ran off with it or because he couldn't complete it? So Peter showed intelligence to understand the equation but if he actually completed the equation than he has more intelligence than two geneticists even though he is still in his teens.

It wouldn't be a very entertaining movie if he immediately knew the answer to anything slightly pertaining to science. Gwen is highly intelligent (which makes her a much better match for Peter than MJ, for me) and Peter was over-thinking the webshooters situation. It's not that hard to believe that someone juggling being Spider-Man, going back and forth with the love of his life, and discovering that his parents may have abandoned him for money... would forget a single lesson from 8-10 years ago.

That is 100% how I saw it. Peter went for the elaberate solution when the basic science 101 solution was under his nose.

so you've seen her reviews then? what are your thoughts on her overall? i despise her for some reason. i mean we have something in common like we're both self aware of things, informatvie, our sense of humor are kinda the same, and she highlights almost everything like i do but yet there's something i don't really like about her. maybe it's the fact that before the reboot came out she was saying a bunch of stupid, unfair, and harsh stuff about the reboot which brought back traumatizing and harmful memories of people's view on the movie before its release. infact, she doesn't seem to like people having the same interest of the reboot as her when she says that and i quote:

"once you go back and see this film you'll realize how mediocre this film is" and the fact that she stated how people she know never once gone back and paid money to see this film even though i've heard and know npeople who have seen this film went back and see it like 3 or 4 times even changing their opinions to a mix and negative one.

infact, even when i try to let go of the pain and memory of the reboot's backlash i still dfon't like her for some reason but i don't know why. maybe it's because i found her annoying.

i mean i never meant to be harsh it's just how i feel and i feel fine. i just don't like her for some reason.

anyway, i haven't gotten enough answers on what's everyone's view on mrrepzion? i haven't watched all of his vids but he seems to be smart and helpful but i feel that he's also pretentious and soon enough will fall onto the same category as other youtubers like dspgaming and lifeinatent. infact, if you see his walkind dead playthroughs they are uncomfortable to watch.

i love nostalgia critic and i seem to nagree that andrew's peter is maturing and being proactive. i don't agree with his view on tobey since tobey's peter just wanted a normal life and to be with the love of his life. i also don't believe mj nor kirsten dunst was as bad as everyone says. i mean i met and heard about a couple of girls like mj dealing with their stressful lives and not having everything planned for her like getting a job at the diner and having to choose betwen peter and harry even falling for peter and even crushed by him. though the problem is is that that would've been gwen instead of MJ since mj is a strong willed person while gwen is just a sweet science girl
