The Avengers Don Cheadle "war machine" in avengers?

he wasn't at comic con and atleast could they do a cameo of the war machine armor or something if he is not in it?

if only marvel had the rights to x men. oh well. let just focus on avengers.

Unlikely. They went out of their way to bring all of the major cast to SDCC. If they were planning on using War Machine as a member of the team he would have been there.

It's a good thing too IMHO. There are more than enough characters to service in this film as it is. In addition, it would be completely redundant to have two power suit characters on the team. Finally, I feel like he takes away from the "specialness" of Tony Stark. Tony needs the generator in his chest to save his life; it also happens to power his suit. If just anyone can throw on a power suit and be a superhero then what makes Tony special?

i actually agree with what you're saying. but i hope that they atleast cameo the war machine armor in some way or tony (in dialogue) atleast mentions where Rhodes is during all the action. because it looks like there will be an alien invasion.

tony could say "rhodey is on assignment in europe testing nuclear weapons" kinda dialogue.

i actually do agree that he would crowd the screen with an already large cast.

but Don (rhodes) and Pepper (Paltrow) need to return in IM 3 or get a mention in Avengers or the war machine armor needs a cameo in some way just for continuity.

it would be a great lead in for IM 3. i mean if rhodes (don cheadle) doesn't come back in some form in IM 3 then having him in IM 2 would've been a waste.

I'm real excited. my only gripe is that they keep changing actors. in all honesty i hope they are able to take the avengers to star wars level epicness. its gonna be a great ride.

if only fox would reboot x-men and do a similar thing. oh well.

But helping out eg with Stark & Thor struggling to contain Hulk in a 2 minute scene & one line of dialogue couldn't hurt

It would be cool if WM was in avengers but seeing how he wasnt presented with the main cast at the comicon it may be unlikely

Not a fan of WM myself. Someone on this board put it into words nicely. Something about WM making IM a little less unique. He gives the whole thing a "just put the suit on anybody and they are a super hero" vibe.

i posted this on the other thread, seems applicable here.
dont need warmachine, for avengers. they could just give him his own movie later if they wanted. the avengers should be just members who are essential and unique. so since they have iron man already that would make warmachine redundant. besides tony stark has more to offer than rhodes. stark is a genius, rhodes is just a soldier and proves that anyone can be in the suit, but only stark can make the suits ever evolving.

well on IMDB he is listed as being in the movie. so we will See. I hope he is in it.

But i agree that having him in it is redundant. but am biased. I am a war machine fan. they just need to say where rhodey is during all the action if he doesn't turn up. if there is a world threat then i would think that war machine would show to help out

If he does appear, it won't be a major part. They've got more than enough heroes in the film, not to mention having to establish Hawkeye as a part of the team and as an individual character AND having to build up a threat & villain.

Plus, it's not like Rhodey brings anything that is very unique. Although War Machine is cool, Stark's armour always has more fun to it than the WM suit and Tony is WAAAAY more of an entertaining character for the audience.

A cameo would be fine with me!,I agree with whoever said him in a quick scene trying to contain the Hulk......I'd have Hulk destroy him and then him telling Tony that he needs to go back to repair his suit&for a rest or something(or Tony can tell him to go back and that he'll take care of it.).

The best way would be if tony stark armor is destroyed by hulk and the only way to make a strong one would be to borrow rhodeys and make an adjustment such that it becomes the new hulk destroyer powered suit.

Also, WM shouldn't appear in this in any way shape or form, they should just get Cheadle sans suit, have him say a few lines and send him on his way.
