Superman Returns Don't act like an idiot, Lois, you already know who Superman is!

no because he makes sense..you don't..

have you seen the first movie?

the title of that artical was the name of her interview.

Is this even a real thread or am I sleeping?

If I stop making hate threads, do you promise to stop insulting me?

Seriously, I won't rant against movies anymore.

If you STILL choose to insult me, I'm gonna report you to the mods.

Simmer down my friend. The title of your thread included don't act like an "idiot". If you can throw the word around why are you so sensitive about somebody calling you one. Robo was just playing off the fact that you used it. This thread will be closed anyway.

It's funny/odd that you can feel free to insult an entire movie production, but when someone insults you, you threaten to report them to the mods.
If you had simply used a modicum of restraint, and titled your thread something along the lines of "How can Lois not know her child is Supes'?", then you would have been treated with respect in here. Instead, you chose to come on like a tornado, assuming you had omniscient information that the 6 billion other people on this planet did not have. Now that you have been proven to be an idiot, you want to get other people in trouble for making a fool out of you.

**Sigh**... How I long for school to start back in the fall, so that little trolling kiddies spend less time on the boards...

There aren't plot holes, there are plot maws.

1)The effects of Kryptonite are sporadic. Sometimes it renders him impotent, allowing Lex to beat the crap outta him, and others it makes him struggle to lift an island, whilst not only having a chunk of Kryptonite jammed into his ribs, but also surrounded by an entire island made of the stuff.

2)1)The effects of the Kryptonian kiss are sporadic. Lois' recolection is so spotty that one must assume that Clark has Professor X powers.

3) In Superman The Movie, he flew around the Earth backwards to reverse time. If we are to allow the movie to work and suspend our disbelief of this ridiculous feat, then every subsequent Superman movie is pointless. “Oh, no. Zod escaped from the Phantom Zone. That’s O.K. I’ll just spin around the world a couple of times and everything will be righty tighty.” “Oh, gee wiz. I spent 5 years going all the way to Krypton, when the only other Kryptonian in the universe, well excluding the ones I threw my cellophane “S” at, is back on Earth with the only woman I ever loved. I’ll just spin around the Earth and party like it’s 1999.”

Oh my god. I just got what he was thinking. He thought that the article "My night with Superman" was written after Superman 2 and was about him flying her to his Fortress of Solitude getting super-freaky and super-banging the super-hell outta her.

Lois writes for the Daily Planet, not Hustler Forums.;)

1. No. What was shown is that while Supes is affected by Kryptonite, he used his FORCE OF WILL to get the island into outer space. The effort almost killed him. It's kinda like when you hear/see that someone has done somthing like lift a car off a person trapped underneath it. Supes was hurting, but he did not let that stop him.
2. Don't know about this one. The movies gave him several powers never demonstrated in the comics.
3. Good point, howver, he only reversed time to save the one person he allowed himself to actually love. The decision to turn back time was a rash, irrespsonsible one, and he later realized it. Also, he turned back time just enough to save Lois, not make it never happen.

1. Bullshoot. FORCE OF WILL alone has NEVER enabled him to just ignore his Achilles' heel. Kryptonite doesn't only "hurt" Superman, it weakens him. It strips him of his powers. If could ignore it's effects by sheer willpower, FORCE OF WILL should have enabled him to keep Lex from beating the crap outta him. It's a disreguard for the established rules of the movie and a retcon that is in the same league as spinning around the Earth to turn back time. Now anytime that he is faced with Kryptonite and doesn't fight back, his will wasn't great enough. Bullsh't.

.

fine i get that point, and i accept that his force of will is amazing. but the only thing that can hurt supes is krypto, this movie basicly now dismisses that. so supes is never any danger at all. fundementally superheroes are always suppose to win but not be infallible or indestructible. just look at the other superhero movie that came out, several main characters died, again its the fact that they can be defeated they are fallible.

Exactally. It's a retcon that screws up the mythos.

Why can't that moment be looked at as a dramatic scene in the film, as opposed to a re-arranging of Superman's stats?

Perhaps jason didn't know about his powers until he got angry..they were trying to hurt his mom at the time...
Bryan thought he was making another X-Men movie..powers are triggered by stress, and apparently they can manifest in both childhood and puberty as evidenced by young Clark running (why the glasses?) :D

I didn't say it was a particarly good idea.

:D

Seems like a lot of people now even ignore the few (lame) excuses from Brian Singer. :D

1. Regarding Clark's glasses and Jason's inhaler: They both need those things until they become their powers. That minute they realise they don't need them anymore.
That's used as a (weird) connection between Superman and Jason. Funny that no one gets that. But no wonder with all the other plot holes to overlook the obvious.

2. Regarding Lois/Superman: Singer said it billion times that he uses a vague history from Superman 1+2. That pretty much means that anything or just one fact from both parts can be the background to that movie. A cheap way to prevent an origin though.
The whole pregnancy doesn't make sense anyway. Don't waste your time with it, it'll only give you headaches.

the kid probably doesn't know how he did it..and he seemed quite ashamed of what he had done.

So the kid is a murderer??!! lol he killed before his dad even ever did.

I think any way you look at it, the kid is still problematic. Lois knows the child is Superman's yet the amnesia kiss should have erased that. If she just found out at that moment the kid was Superman's, I'd be VERY PISSED OFF and demanding some answers from Superman, but she didn't, so I'm assuming she already knew. I'm sorry but I think the "changed her memory" thing is BS. I wanna know how her memory would be changed, so that she remembers only screwing Superman, but nothing else. Its pretty silly.

and it must be the same kiss he gives lex and everyone else in smallville who blatantly knows whoe he is.

Look his powers are simply, an advanced human being. his abilities are just super versions of what people do daily. the xray is just the fact of accessing certain light wavs that we can't due to the fact we only use 10% of our brains and the heat vision is just him being able to bounce light of his eyes and elevate the amount of light and heat given off that sector. every part of us gives off heat, so he just can enhance that. if he really wanted to he could probably flame on like johnny storm. He could most likely do anything most these heroes do. He just doesn't know how. Like the whole matrix thing. he only uses powers that activated, but has he ever tried to use more?...

the point though is that it is scientifically impossible or unexplainable even for him to use suliva or whatever he used to create amnesia. That was just not thought out. they really wrote that???? almost as bad as Singer going along with it.

instead of being a confused moron. Singer shoulda just remade 2 with donner as the consultant. Zod and all that. and kill the stupid kiss idea.

Well, Donner's real movie isn't that stupid. Lois at the end remembers that Clark is Superman, but that would mean it wouldn't fit with SR.

I only read handful of Superman comics but I don't ever remember Supe having the power of amnesia kiss. Even if its Donner conjuring up such a silly power for plot purposes it still doesn't explain why Lois wasn't surprised/upset that she's pregnant when she's supposedly forgot everything about her relationship with Superman. It's not like she'll get hitched with another guy within a month of sleeping with Superman and mistaken the child to be his. Lois isn't that ****ty is she?
