Dragon's Dogma 2 reveal teased?
Dragons-Dogma-Website_12-03-14.jpg

The official Dragon’s Dogma website was updated recently with an interesting message.
On November 26, under the “News” section of the website, the following text was posted: “Devil May Cry? Dragon’s Dogma 2? What could this be? What are you hoping for?”
The news links through to a SegmentNext article sourcing our story last week about Capcom announcing a new PlayStation 4 title soon.
PlayStation Experience is this weekend, where Sony will host a keynote on Saturday with new game reveals and announcements.
Make of that what you will.
Thanks, NeoGAF.

Well, I couldn't get into Dragon's Dogma because of the pawn system, which annoyed me to hell. But the gameplay was fun, and the world was beautiful. So....idk, I'd try it again for a sequel.

And as for a new DMC? You had me at D.

This one better have online co-op or SO HELP ME. :cmad:

well some of you all won't like this .

A new game? Or Deep Down re-branded?
DDO-Trademark_12-05-14.jpg

Capcom has trademarked the name “Dragon’s Dogma Online” in Europe.
The trademark was filed today, December 5.
The filing comes following an update on the official Dragon’s Dogma website earlier this week apparently teasing a sequel to Dragon’s Dogma.
But the question is—if this is a thing—is this a new game? Or is it a re-branding of Capcom’s PlayStation 4 dungeon RPG Deep Down?
Thanks, NeoGAF.

Ok so there are two project happening on an MMO & a normal game

Dragon’s Dogma Director Says Capcom Will Announce A New Game Soon. December 9, 2014 . 4:27am

“We currently have several titles in preparation,” Itsumo told Dengeki.

While we haven’t heard much from Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma director Hideaki Itsuno in a while, he recently had a few words to share in this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation about some of the latest developments at the company. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]

“We currently have several titles in preparation,” Itsuno told Dengeki. “And one of them is at its last stages [of development]. We plan on announcing it soon.”

Minae Matsukawa, producer of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen also shared, “We’d like to work hard so, come 2015, we can have people play and learn about the games we’re currently working on.”

While they didn’t reveal any titles in particular, it sounds like we might hear about a new Dragon’s Dogma game in the near future.

More unannounced teases from Capcom.
DD-DPS_12-09-14.jpg

Dengeki PlayStation this week features a questionnaire with 107 game developers, including the director of Dragon’s Dogma, producer of its Dark Arisen expansion, and the producer of the Sengoku Basara series.
Here’s what they had to say:

  • Dragon’s Dogma director Hideaki Itsuno: “We’ve got several games in the pipeline right now. One of them is even in the last stages right now. We should be able to announce it soon.”
  • Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen producer Minaeu Matsukawa: “We’re working really hard to get ready for people to learn about what we have coming up in 2015 and get them excited to play those games.”
  • Sengoku Basara series producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi: “2015 will mark the 10th anniversary of the Sengoku Basara franchise. You can expect a lot of exciting announcements and developments in light of the occasion.”
It might be worth noting that Dragon’s Dogma Online was trademarked last week, and there was an interesting news post at the game’s official site last week (which was since removed).
Thanks, Hachima Kikou.

Who ever asked for an MMO? This is like what Bethesda did with Elder Scrolls Online. Who ever asked for that? Or more specifically, how many asked more that? I'm pretty sure the majority of people wanted a regular single player experience, just with some added co-op. Not some always online grind.

Hopefully Dragon's Dogma 2 will be the game to add simple co-op.

well if they fully announce & show the normal game which would be 2 or what ever it's titled don't worry about the MMO just play the one you want to play. They're most likly Expanding to get another different audience , that would be interested. I said a similar thign on both Silicon era & Gematsu and the mod's there of each with some other commentators said the same too or to wait for more formation cause it looks like there are two project's in the works .

After hearing about this, I looked up gameplay videos of the original. The combat looks absolutely phenominal. Wish I could play it.

It has the best gameplay of any game of this kind I've played. Better than Skyrim and Dragon Age.

Dragon’s Dogma Online Will Be A Free-to-Play Game For PC, PS4 And PS3. January 27, 2015 . 3:17am

Dragon’s Dogma Online is in development for PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, and will release in Japan sometime this year.

Capcom just announced the latest entry in the Dragon’s Dogma series with Dragon’s Dogma Online. More details from this week’s issue from Famitsu magazine have surfaced. [Thanks, Zaregotoand Otakomu]

Dragon’s Dogma Online is in development for PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, and will release in Japan sometime this year. While it will be a free-to-play title, its world will continuously expand through updates.

In Dragon’s Dogma Online, you’ll take on the role of an “Awakened” exploring the new lands of Lestania, where you’ll form parties and take on monsters. There are jobs such as Fighter, Hunter, Priest, Shield Sage, and more. Parties consist of up to four players, or you can also play alongside three AI Pawns for a full party. Lobbies will consist of up to 100 players, and there will be a chat feature, and quick-matching for parties as well.

Capcom plan on adding extensive missions that will also allow you to party with a total of eight players. As far as character creation goes, there will an extensive amount of customization.

The game takes place in an open-world, and will continue to grow via future seasonal updates. Capcom also plan to add a “rage” feature for large monsters, which will have a similar effect as in the Monster Hunter series, and will increase their damage output.

There will also be crafting, as Pawns can create consumable items weapons, and armor. Having more pawns in a party can result in faster crafting and better quality as well.

Dragon’s Dogma Online will release sometime this year for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Dragon’s Dogma Online is a free-to-play title for PlayStation 4, PS3, and PC

Published 11 hours ago. 207 comments.

First details on Capcom's newly announced Dragon's Dogma.
First details on Dragon’s Dogma Online have come out of this week’s Famitsu.

The 2015-due game will be a free-to-play action title with item micro-transactions for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. It’s produced by Minae Matsukawa, directed by Kent Kino****a, and executive produced by Hiroyuki Kobayashi.
Players take on the role of an Awakened in the new land of Lestaria. You’ll be able to adventure with four-player parties (if you prefer to play solo, you can take three AI pawns with you), as well as chat, form parties, and spend free time in town lobbies with up to 100 people. There will also be a “Quick Matching” feature.
Dragon’s Dogma Online is similar to previous entries terms of combat. Clinging attacks remain present. Players will battle against big enemies in dramatic battles, and monsters can become enraged, leading to fiercer attacks.
As for jobs, those currently confirmed in the game include the Fighter, Hunter, Priest, and Shield Sage. Players will be able to change their jobs whenever they like, as well as the jobs of their pawns.
Character creation has seen an upgrade. The number of sections and parts you can edit has been considerably increased. Crafting mechanics are also present. Pawns can make things like consumables, weapons, armor. Pawns can also work together to shorten crafting time and increase overall build quality.
The game is open-world, and that open-world will be expanded little-by-little via large-scale updates launched seasonally. Bigger missions where up to eight players can participate are implied to be coming in one of these updates. Time-exclusive quests are also planned.
Famitsu also introduces a group of four NPC characters part of the “White Winged Buddha Corps.” They are: Fighters Vanessa (voiced by Atsuko Tanaka) and Leo (Koichi Yamadera), Hunter Iris (Marina Inoue), and Fabio (Yoshimasa Hosoya).
In an interview with Famitsu, producer Matsukawa and director Kino****a share the following comments:

  • Development started with the basic desire of taking Dragon’s Dogma and making it playable in an online environment.
  • The game couldn’t be made in tandem with Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen and was therefore pushed back.
  • Capcom contemplated a monthly fee, but chose freeo-to-play in the end in an attempt to get more players to try it out.
  • Though paid items are present, the game will still feel like a proper Dragon’s Dogma game.
  • The story is completely new and there are no character connections. (Editor’s note: We take it this means no character connections to the previous game.)
  • The game world will initially be the size of what players have come to expect from previous games, but will expand over time to be three times larger in scope.
  • Parties are formed in the lobby, after which players depart for the field.
  • An effort has been made to emphasize the strengths and traits of individual classes, but it’s not balanced so strictly that players need to be super meticulous about party makeup.
Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono also adds that the game’s development is benefiting from the cooperation of Sony Computer Entertainment.
Thanks, Otakomu, Hachima Kikou, and Sokuho@Hokanko.

Dragon’s Dogma Online Shares More On Its Multiplayer World. January 29, 2015 . 3:13am

The official website shares more details on the game, as well as screenshots.

Dragon’s Dogma Online is an Capcom’s upcoming free-to-play online multiplayer game for the series, where you’ll get to team up with friends to take out monsters and advance through the story. The official website shares more details and screenshots.

Dragon’s Dogma Online focuses on online play between friends, as you communicate to take on monsters together, but it will also have single player features such as raising your own Pawn, or even going out with them to explore the world.

As far as the online play goes, you’ll get to communicate with friends using the game’s chat, while working together to defeat monsters. There’s a lot of emphasis on communication as a strategic element parties will need for the tough fights. Your party of four will require the right roles in order to have proper balance, similar to parties in MMORPG titles, so you’ll basically have tanks, healers, attackers, and so on.

The above is a look at the lobby area of Dragon’s Dogma Online, a massive area that holds up to 100 players.

The lobby is a good place for regular conversations, or for making potential friends that may help you advance through the story of the game.

As previously reported, Dragon’s Dogma Online will continue to grow through updates and expansions, and Capcom plan on having it eventually be three times larger than the original Dragon’s Dogma.

Dragon’s Dogma Online will release in Japan sometime this year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Dragon’s Dogma Online Players Will Face A Colossus And Lindwurms. February 5, 2015 . 12:44am

Capcom is turning Dragon’s Dogma into free to play online game with a massive world that’s three times bigger than the console games. Dragon’s Dogma Online lets players create a character and join a party to fight monsters.

Capcom is turning Dragon’s Dogma into free to play online game with a massive world that’s three times bigger than the console games. Dragon’s Dogma Online lets players create a character and join a party to fight monsters.

Orcs are one of the enemies in Dragon’s Dogma Online and they usually attack players in groups armed with swords and axes. Fighting orcs one on one might be tough so bring a friend or a pawn with you.

Colossus is a powerful giant that you’ll have to use the grab technique on to defeat. The Colossus wears spiked armor that protects players climbing on it.

No, this isn’t a crossover from Monster Hunter, but the Lindwurm looks like it could have come from Capcom’s hunting series. This water dragon rushes players using its fangs and claws. Lindwurm can also attack using water and lightning. Its electric attacks are particularly dangerous when you’re soaked in water.

Here Are The First Four Jobs You Can Play As In Dragon’s Dogma Online. February 12, 2015 . 2:31pm

The official website shares a look at the four starting jobs of Dragon’s Dogma Online.

While Dragon’s Dogma Online will eventually be three times larger than Dragon’s Dogma and will likely add several new jobs, the official website shares a look at the four starting jobs, along with details on what they’re all about.

Fighter:

Fighters are well-balanced in both attack and defense. Using their sword and shield, they excel in counter moves in close quarters. They’re characterized by their sense of stability and balance.

Using speed to get closer to their enemies, the Fighters can pull off powerful attacks. They can also easily knock away smaller targets.

Hunter:

Hunters are the snipers of Dragon’s Dogma Online, as they specialize in attacking from a distance with precise shooting. They can support using special arrows, and also help taking down strong enemies by hitting their weak spots.

In addition to being able to take out flying enemies with little trouble, Hunters are also agile, and can use this to their advantage while closing in on enemies.

Last edited:
Priest:

Priests are all about healing and supporting the party. They can use magic to hold back enemies from mid to long-ranges, while enhancing themselves and party members. Most of their action will take place away from enemies.

In addition to heals and support, Priests can also use magic shots against enemies, as a way to fend for themselves as well.
Shield Sage:

The Shield Sages are characterized by their huge shields, which they use to protect themselves from just about any attack out there. They also use it as a way to knock back enemies, along with a rod to use some magic attacks.

For the most part, Shield Sages will use their shield to block enemies and attack when there’s an opening. Their absolute defense with the shield will provide party members with more opportunities to get attacks in.

Dragon’s Dogma Online will release in Japan sometime in 2015 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Dragon’s Dogma Online alpha test begins April 20, third trailer

Published 2 days ago. 30 comments.

New Seeker and Sorcerer jobs detailed.

DDO_04-04-15.jpg

Sign-ups for the Dragon’s Dogma Online alpha test will begin on Tuesday, April 7, Capcom announced.
The alpha, which will test the server load and allow for tweaks to the game balance, will run on PlayStation 3 between April 20 and 28. Sign-ups will be accepted from mid-day on April 7. Successful participants will be announced on April 15. The client can be downloaded the same day.
During the test, players will be able to choose between four job types (the Fighter, Hunter, Priest, and Shield Sage), as well as acquire a Pawn follower. Up to four players can adventure together, and Grand Missions support up to eight. Four different fields—“White Dragon Temple Reeze,” “Haidel Plain,” “Bria Coast,” and “Mythril Forest”—will be accessible.
On May 8, Capcom will release a report detailing the feedback it received from players during the alpha test.
Following the alpha, a closed beta is planned across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC this summer, with a second closed beta to test simultaneous connections across a large-scale server also planned at a later date.
In addition to this news, Capcom released details about two new jobs, the “Seeker” and the “Sorcerer.” Here’s a quick outline of the pair:

  • Seeker - An acrobat that specializes in hit-and-away melee attacks. The Seeker warps around to the enemy’s blind spot with its ropework, takes on giant creatures from above, and continuously attack enemies like a hurricane on the battlefield.
  • Sorcerer - A magician with tremendous magick attack power. For the magick that requires longer casting time, it’s important that the Sorcerer has support from its allies.
