Dragon Ball FighterZ will add Android 17 as a playable character via paid downloadable content in late September for $4.99 / 500 yen, the latest issue of V-Jump reveals.

Android 17’s special moves include:

  • “Barrier Explosion” – Surrounds his body in a barrier before charging forward. This can also be used in the air.
  • “End Game” – Goes around behind the enemy and continuously attacks.
  • Meteor Attack: “Super Electric Strike” – Swirls around energy that builds up in his hands, then fires it off. This can also be used in the air.
A free update for Dragon Ball FighterZ will be released alongside the Android 17 add-on in late September. It will include the new stage “Space Arena” on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (and presumably PC—V-Jump does not cover PC titles). The Switch version of the stage will be released at a later date.

Additionally, seasonal Z Capsules featuring Halloween outfit-themed lobby characters and stamps will be distributed until late November.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and will launch for Switch on September 27 in Japan, and September 28 in the Americas and Europe.

Dragon Ball FighterZ downloadable content characters Android 17 and Cooler will launch on September 28 for $4.99 / 500 yen each or as part of the FighterZ Pass, Bandai Namco announced.

The cool-headed Android 17 uses multiple barrier techniques and long-range ki blast attacks to deal with almost all situations. Nothing less to expect from the winner the Tournament of Power!

His strongest move is the Super Electric Strike, a large-scale swirl of energy that can be executed both on the ground and mid-air.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and will launch for Switch on September 27 in Japan, and September 28 in the Americas and Europe.

So, it seems like Toei are being dicks and trying to kill this game as a competitive game. Preventing them from even being held as tournaments, namely in Evo Japan, and sounds like the main Evo.

Dragon Ball FighterZ was released in January of the year, but the hype for the game started pretty much when the game was announced during the 2017 E3 presentation.

Bandai Namco and Ark System Works really delivered something very special with Dragon Ball FighterZ, which became a fan favourite almost instantly thanks to the popularity of the characters and the brilliant game design that Ark System Works put into the game; making it one of, if not, the best Dragon Ball fighting games ever made.

All of this popularity made Dragon Ball FighterZ become the most-viewed event during this year's EVO—the biggest esports event that focuses exclusively on fighting games—even managing to take the place from Marvel vs Capcom Infinite.

Things aren't looking up for the game, though, as last week it was reported that Dragon Ball FighterZwas being dropped from Anime Ascension. The news came from the Aksys Games verified Twitter account, where people offered their support and also blamed Toei Animation for preventing Dragon Ball FighterZ to be part of the event.

Today, Toei Animation replied to a tweet on one of their One Piece 20th Anniversary post. The tweet in question blamed Toei for not allowing Dragon Ball FighterZ to run at Anime Ascension, to what Toei Animation gave out their apologies and stated that they have no knowledge about preventing the game from any tournaments.

It is still too soon to jump to conclusions, as it was too soon to assume that Toei Animation were the ones not allowing Dragon Ball FighterZ to be part of the Anime Ascension event; although everything is pointing to Shueisha, the ones who hold the Dragon Ball series' rights, being the ones responsible for the whole debacle.

Bandai Namco of America will host a “Dragon Ball Games Super Showcase” on January 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT where it teases “big reveals, big news, and big interviews with the producers of Dragon Ball FighterZ and Xenoverse 2.” you will be able to watch it live on Twitch.

One of those reveals might be the western announcement of Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission, which was rated in Australia back in November.

Dragon Ball FighterZ producer Tomoko Hiroki teased the reveal of a “FighterZ Pass Season 2” for the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals 2018-19, which runs from January 26 to 27, during the Dragon Ball Games Super Showcase.

“Yes,” Hiroki said when asked about a FighterZ Pass Season 2. “I really want to say it, but please wait until the FighterZ Finals.”

The first FighterZ Pass added eight additional character to the game: Bardock, Broly, Cooler, Vegito (SSGSS), Fused Zamasu, Base Goku, and Base Vegeta.

Additionally, Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2producer Masayuki Hirano teased the announcement of something entirely different during the same event.

“We said that new information on FighterZ would be coming during the Finals,” Hirano said. “But we’re also planning to release other big news. Of course we’ll continue to support Super Dragon Ball Heroes while also doing the same for Xenoverse 2 and FighterZ, but this new information is something different.”

Masayuku continued, “We’re hoping to bring information that would please Dragon Ball as a whole. We hope you will look forward to that. We mentioned many things here today, but we already have the next steps in mind so we hope everyone looks forward to that. The V-Jump published by Shueisha in Japan has some hints on the information coming during the World Tour Final, so it may be difficult for our audience to get their hands on that, but we will gradually release new information. For the month of January, we hope to keep things exciting, so I hope you’ll look out for it.”

Goku from Dragon Ball GT will join Dragon Ball FighterZ as a playable character via paid downloadable content, the latest isuse of Monthly V-Jump reveals.

GT Goku’s special move is “Super Kamehameha,” which transforms him into Super Saiyan 3 when there are two or fewer overall team members remaining. His Meteor special attacks include “Super Spirit Bomb” and a second, hidden attack.

His other attacks include “Power Pole” and “Reverse Kamehameha.”

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Really disappointing. I am seriously sick of Goku. If it's something like Xenoverse or the old Tenkaichi games, then I do not mind having multiple versions of the same character. But with a limited roster, I want to see different characters.

Bandai Namco has released the first screenshots of newly announced Dragon Ball FighterZ downloadable content character Kid Goku (GT).

After an errant wish by Emperor Pilaf, Goku has been transformed into a child during the Dragon Ball GT series. This younger Goku packs a big punch with special attacks like the Super Kamehameha attack, transforming him into Super Saiyan 3. Goku is also able to use his Super Spirit Bomb, Power Pole, and Reverse Kamehameha to flatten the competition.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Kid Goku (GT) will launch as a downloadable content character for Dragon Ball FighterZ in May, the latest issue of V-Jump reveals.

The fighter has a hidden Meteor super special move called “Dragon Fist Explosion.” While ordinarily his rush attack, if used after a teammate has been killed, Goku will transform into Super Saiyan 4 and a golden dragon will pierce through his opponent.

Additionally, the magazine reveals the release of three additional “Commentator Voice Pack” add-ons: “Android 17 / Trunks / Zamasu” for 200 yen, “Beerus / Wis” for 150 yen, and “Android 21” for 150 yen.
