Permalink | 1 commentsEven an Inquisitor needs some downtime for relaxing once in a while. If you've indulged in the opportunity at Skyhold's tavern to enjoy a break from the demons and Venatori, chances are you've heard some of the bard's lovely songs. Although bards do perform to entertain travelers, they also serve a greater purpose: to carry the tales of triumph and tragedy across the land.Head to the Dragon Age: Inquisition site to download the music or click the image below to begin the download immediately.
We've received many inquiries from our fans asking where they can get these songs, and we're thrilled that you're enjoying them as much as we do. As our way of saying thank you for being the awesome community that you are, we're excited to announce that for the next two weeks, you can download these songs from a desktop computer free of charge!
As an added bonus for all of you musically inclined folks, we're also releasing the sheet music for each track. Now you can perform your own versions of these haunting tavern tunes—and when you do, you should enter our Fan Celebration Contest!

Considering all the criticism ME3 got, I doubt it.
I wonder if this means Weekes is going to take over.
Permalink | 2 commentsLead Writer of the Dragon Age series, David Gaider, has announced via Twitter that he is leaving the DA team and moving to the as-yet-unnamed Bioware project. Patrick Weekes, author of The Masked Empire and also a DAI team member, will take over the lead on the series from now on.So a bit of news: I have decided leave Dragon Age and move onto a new, upcoming BioWare project (which I can't discuss).
— David Gaider (@davidgaider) March 3, 2015While it's hard to leave Dragon Age behind, 10 years is a long time to work on any one project. I decided it was time for something new.
— David Gaider (@davidgaider) March 3, 2015We'll keep you posted as the story develops and (hopefully) Bioware finally reveals what the new IP project is during this year's convention season.I'm honored to be continuing the Dragon Age story that @davidgaider set in motion, and I look forward to adding a lot of sexy unicorns now.

Ah... you remember the criticism DA2 got?
Mass Effect had more goodwill than Dragon Age with 2 games well received vs 1 with one of them being many people's favourite of the generation. And criticism was high of ME3 on first release but many of those have cooled down since the DLC endings, the perfect Citadel ending and the multiplayer which many of those same critics were still playing a year after. On the other hand DA2 is still as poorly thought of as it was post release and that didn't stop DA:I going crazy early in next gen while ME4 will be a game that can truly take advantage of next gen tech and will be selling to a much bigger install base.
