the more I think about it, the more I believe having the same protagonist throughout the series would have been better.

If The Hero Of Ferelden was the main, I would approve it, but not with Hawke. Though, this isn't Mass Effect, having a new PC is actually a good thing, gives them more liberty to come up with new stuff IMO.

I really like my new character right now, so I'm actually glad that we get to play as someone new in each installment. It's actually gonna be really badass, when we get to the point in the series, where all heroes are fighting side by side. The Hero of Ferelden, The Hero of Kirkwall, and the Inquisitor. That better be what they are planning.

Dragon Age: Inquisition : Tavern Music Available for Free Download

Posted Jan 26, 2015

Bioware has announced that all ten of the Dragon Age: Inquisition tavern songs are now available for a free download. Fans can download both the music and the sheet music from the DAI site. Developers are also encouraging fans to record their own versions of the songs for a special Fan Celebration Contest.
Even an Inquisitor needs some downtime for relaxing once in a while. If you've indulged in the opportunity at Skyhold's tavern to enjoy a break from the demons and Venatori, chances are you've heard some of the bard's lovely songs. Although bards do perform to entertain travelers, they also serve a greater purpose: to carry the tales of triumph and tragedy across the land.
We've received many inquiries from our fans asking where they can get these songs, and we're thrilled that you're enjoying them as much as we do. As our way of saying thank you for being the awesome community that you are, we're excited to announce that for the next two weeks, you can download these songs from a desktop computer free of charge!
As an added bonus for all of you musically inclined folks, we're also releasing the sheet music for each track. Now you can perform your own versions of these haunting tavern tunes—and when you do, you should enter our Fan Celebration Contest!
Head to the Dragon Age: Inquisition site to download the music or click the image below to begin the download immediately.

Dragon Age: Inquisition gets special recognition from GLAAD

GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) has given a special recognition award to Dragon Age: Inquisition. The 26th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, which has a laundry list of award categories, including comics, singled out the BioWare RPG from the video game pack.

David Gaider, lead writer for the Dragon Age series at BioWare has spoken in the past about the "hump of assumptions" involved in creating and including lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender characters in video games. Inquisition featured the first "fully gay" characters in the series. Straight and bisexual characters have been a BioWare standard for over a decade.

Bioware parent company, Electronic Arts, has also repeated received a 100 percent rating from the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index. The publisher earned the achievement again in 2015.

for $35?? sure, why not. If you've never played a DA game before, you'd at least experience this fresh and won't have any frame of reference to compare it to the previous games.

so, if you're interested in the game, I don't think you can go wrong at $35. certainly better than paying full price.

I know what you mean. The Corypheus fight in the "DA2 Legacy" DLC was a lot harder.

Apparently according to the EA financial report it was Biowares biggest launch in terms of units sold.

It also mentioned DLC is on the way

Since my xbox updated it has a habit of randomlly booting me from, this game now and then. Anyone have that trouble ?

The Black Emporium is back? Think they'll give us a mabari to summon again, too?

I hope all that new stuff makes its way to the consoles.

I doubt there will be a beta for consoles but the the final releases definitely will. It's faster to get patches to PC since they don't have to go through a vetting process with Microsoft or Sony.

Will Mass Effect 4 include Freddie Prinze, Jr. as a hyperviolent, pansexual minotaur?

Considering all the criticism ME3 got, I doubt it.

Ah... you remember the criticism DA2 got?

Mass Effect had more goodwill than Dragon Age with 2 games well received vs 1 with one of them being many people's favourite of the generation. And criticism was high of ME3 on first release but many of those have cooled down since the DLC endings, the perfect Citadel ending and the multiplayer which many of those same critics were still playing a year after. On the other hand DA2 is still as poorly thought of as it was post release and that didn't stop DA:I going crazy early in next gen while ME4 will be a game that can truly take advantage of next gen tech and will be selling to a much bigger install base.

I wonder if this means Weekes is going to take over.

Dragon Age: Inquisition : David Gaider Moves on to Unnamed Bioware Project

Posted Mar 03, 2015

Lead Writer of the Dragon Age series, David Gaider, has announced via Twitter that he is leaving the DA team and moving to the as-yet-unnamed Bioware project. Patrick Weekes, author of The Masked Empire and also a DAI team member, will take over the lead on the series from now on.
So a bit of news: I have decided leave Dragon Age and move onto a new, upcoming BioWare project (which I can't discuss).
— David Gaider (@davidgaider) March 3, 2015
While it's hard to leave Dragon Age behind, 10 years is a long time to work on any one project. I decided it was time for something new.
— David Gaider (@davidgaider) March 3, 2015
I'm honored to be continuing the Dragon Age story that @davidgaider set in motion, and I look forward to adding a lot of sexy unicorns now.
— Patrick Weekes (@PatrickWeekes) March 3, 2015
We'll keep you posted as the story develops and (hopefully) Bioware finally reveals what the new IP project is during this year's convention season.

DA2 had the excuse that it was rushed. ME3 didn't. I don't see it coming out any time soon. I get the impression that Bioware/EA are putting more eggs in the DA basket compared to ME.
