Dragon Ball Game Project Age 2011 (working title)

Thought I'd revive this Thread with some Trailer and gameplay vids. Didn't like the gameplay at first, but might actually start to warm up to it.

I think we watch more than we fight. There's WAY too many ''press this and an action occurs''. It happens just every 10 seconds or less. It looks closer to the fights of the anime, but it also looks boring to play.

I'm staying away from the game. Budokai 3 is still the best one to me.

I like Budokai 3 a lot, but it started to introduce the "Press a button and watch what happens." If it comes to DBZ games that are more like traditional fighters, Shin Budokai 2 on the PSP is my favorite. But on consoles, I prefer the Tenkaichi series. Although I share your concern with this game.

What I do like though, is that you seem to be able to fire a beam from a great distance, without worrying that the opponent will simply sidestep it. Not to say that I have a problem hitting people in Raging Blast 2, I simply combo into it, but it's nice to see that it's more close to the anime and that the opponent actually has to engage in a counter attack.

Can someone give me a quick rundown of the differences between the various sub-series of DBZ games?

same old sht.

make a good dbz rpg game and i'll be interested.

So are there any good DBZ games on these consoles? I just tried the demos for both Raging Blast games, and they were... um... what's the word I'm looking for? Garbage. I think that's it.

Strictly on this generation of consoles, there are only 3 games. 4 with the new Ultimate Tenkaichi.

Burst Limit has been developed by Dimps, the same people behind the last generation of Budokai games. So if you prefer games that focus more on traditional melee combat and liked the past Budokai games, this is probably the game for you. For me though, it's probably one of my least favorite games, not because it's bad, but because I viewed it as the first game in a line of a new trilogy. So characters that were in Budokai 3, were nowhere to be seen in Burst Limit. Also, it played slower than the, IMO, much better game on the PSP Shin Budokai 1 and 2.

The other 2, Raging Blast 1 and 2, which you already played, were developed by Spike. The same people behind the last generations Tenkaichi games. If you weren't a fan of those, you won't like Raging Blast any more. And probably neither Ultimate Tenkaichi. If you did like the series though, I'd give them another try. The first time I tried the Raging Blast 2 Demo (skipped Raging Blast 1 because I knew there'd be a sequel), my first impression was that this is garbage too. The main reason being because they changed the controls from the Tenkaichi games and I wasn't used to them at all. After I got used to them though, Raging Blast 2 has quickly become my favorite DBZ game.

So, Burst Limit is the most polished game if you're just looking for a good DBZ fighter and Raging Blast 2 if you just want to have fun and have battles just like the show. On the handheld, I'd recommend Shin Budokai 2: Another Road.

Nice intro. The create a character intrigues me but the gameplay seems flat.

DBZ: Budokai 3, on the PS2. Best ever, imo.
Don't mistake it for Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

Decent review... I will get it, not RIGHT away but after it's first price drop for sure.

I liked Budokai 2 a lot. Hopefully they put Budokai 3 on PSN.

The budokai games were awesome. Shame the whole thing went to pot with Tenkaichi

If Burst Limit ever gets a sequel, they need to take all the gameplay elements from the Shin Budokai games. If they don't do that, I won't even bother getting it.

so can you create female characters in this?

Well, I guess that's because you mix and match your character from already existing models. And as we know, DBZ barely has any playable female characters. So they'd have to start from scratch to make a ton of customizable female options.

ah.....I see.
