Dragonball Script Thread (Contains Spoilers Duh)

He does use the "coolest________you've ever seen" line too much.

This is an example of how James Wong writes.

A 90-minute documentary that explains in exhaustive detail the making of Final Destination 3. Stars James Wong (director), Ariel Shaw (visual fx director of Dragonball), and the cinematographer and other miscellaneous crew of Dragonball.

Part 1 of 10: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMdC6saj_3s

I'll inform you when all 10 parts are uploaded, plus I'm going to upload the extras from the movie "The One." to the dbthemovie YouTube channel.

If Wong had the opportunity to write a whole new script but still felt it was a good idea to make a Goku a high school student...then I don't have the highest hopes for his draft either.

I was surprised Tien didnt make a Cameo in the leaked script

The bamf is regulating lol wats your thoughts on the script bamf?

hey ...from what i read..they play a game called Dragonball.

so perhaps that rendering found a few days ago is possibly a rendering for the game they play within the movie
=D

I doubt goku was playing himself in the game.

Just finished it. Reads badly, feels a bit rushed, and I'm not to keen on Goku turning Piccolo's attack into a Kamehameha rather than creating his own.

Thank goodness!! Though my expectations for Wong being able to translate Dragonball well have been generally low throughout this period of anticipation running up to the release of the movie, it can clearly be seen from this sample of his scriptwriting that Wong has a far better sense of language than Ramsey. How that first-draft script ever got commissioned by a major studio will forever be a mystery to me, and for those of you who think Ramsey is a good writer but is getting a bum rap because his script was written for a project that has a lot of overly particular and critical fans of Dragonball appraising it, I would like to bring up a quote from a review written by Rob Gonsalves of efilmcritic.com for another Ramsey project called The Big Hit:
The script, by rookie writer Ben Ramsey, is among the most disgraceful screenplays ever to be produced by a major studio (Tri-Star). It plays as if written by Tarantino's cretinous evil twin -- it has no connection whatsoever to life outside video stores, and almost everyone on the screen is annoying and shallow.

Just started to read the leaked script. With every additional page I read, I die a little more and more inside. Goku wanting a break from training? Romantic haze? Trading card and video game playing geek? As I understand this is just a rough draft. So I hope most of the stuff got thrown out after the re-writes.

That is exactly how I felt when I read the script of DB. A lot of the dialogues are comedic and annoying.

Yeah Goku wanting to take a break was a shock to me. The card thing will probably be taken out.

what??!!

Goku would always take break. He would start eating a lot in between training and stuff.
