It seems like only me and Humpty Dumpty think that this script (Written by Ben Ramsey) is complete garbage. I'll try finishing this pitiful excuse for a script by tonight but I don't even have to read the entire script to recognize how bad the writing and the story that Ben Ramsey had in mind is a total and utter mess. (This is my opinion) I trust that both James Wong and Stephen Chow changed enough things in this script to make it worthy of a theatrical release.

P.S: I can't believe 20th Century Fox payed Ben Ramsey 500,000 dollars to write this script.

Never been a fan of the "It would look stupid" arguments. I followed 3 X-Men movies having to hear people say such and such "would look stupid".

Anything is possible when the right amount of time and energy is put into it. Writting something off because of the belief that it wouldn't translate well is just lazy until you actually take the time to see if it works.

I agree with JP. For a script that can only get better with rewrites, it's pretty decent.

James Wong did re-write the script, that was reported a while back . When I put Stephen Chow's name in there I meant about the minor input he had put in the script by just giving James Wong ideas and such. Also I said "Hopefully" didn't say I knew for a fact that this was going to be a smart and completely faithful film.

You do realize that re-write does not mean writing everything again. It could mean making some changes here and there but for the most remaining same.

It is like reshooting. Remember Iron Man had some reshoots?! They didn't shoot the movie again but shot some extra scenes or changed some scenes by shooting new ones.

Changes can be make when shooting too, in many cases improvising has better results than the script, and also in post production, re shooting scenes.

Wow this got a lot of replys, the card thing just has to go it makes the film seem dumb.

Goku has gotta be more like Goku, from the script he didnt seem to be happy much, laugh often be that stupid and didnt have the a huge love for food.

I assume Piccolo will have a bigger role aswell.

Well i dont mean to make it comical and silly, just people liked Goku because of his happy nature and naivity (spelling).

In the script he seems sad and angry at times, never seems like the happy go lucky Goku.

That just reminds me too much of Neo in Matrix so thats gotta go.

Everyone seems already to be giving the movie the middle finger from its having turned Goku into an even more depressed version of Peter Parker. This script is one of the worst pieces of "literature" I've ever read in my life. All of the dialogue is reminiscent of many a generic teen movie, and the descriptions in the prose passages, though they are not intended to be heard in the final product, only further assert Mr. Ramsey’s lack of writing ability with a level of linguistic absurdity that even the most stylistically impoverished simile in a Mickey Spillane novel can’t match. I’ve seen better writing in fan-fiction scripts. How one can procure for themselves $500,000 after having churned out a piece of barely functional work which obviously had very little forethought committed to it makes me a little bit angry.

Besides the nods to the magna and anime this script falls short on so many levels. The language is a bit much and feels out of place most of the time. The ending was a disappointment besides the whole Oozaru thing. The whole video game/card game is complete bull it should be completely taken out with no mercy this is not Yugioh! Krillin little cameo he could have at least been training.

Goku- Where is hunger? His goofiness? all there is ia an awkward teen boo.

i dont remember peole around the world wanting a DB movie where goku is completely different.

if you make DB then at least make a good goku. if this is not what people want ,then make a new fresh story about an alien that looks like a human is strong and can fly. ohhh whait a minute. this is superman.

I can't really judge the script because I skimmed through it because I hate reading long documents online. Though most of it and it seemed alright. I'll wait till the official previews to have hope, for this movie or not. But the cast seems talented enough to pull this off.

Alright, I just finished the last page and feel like I'm going to throw up. It's even more horrible than I said it was in my last few posts. What was all that crap at the end trying to tie up all of that nonsensical talk about the flow of time throughout the movie? Here's my impression of Ramsey writing the last scene:

GOKU has a flashback that hits him like some totally badass flashbulbs from Kodak cameras. He's gonna see it now. The flashback is so awesome!

BULMA (flasback): Don't go with time. Let it go with you.

YAMCHA (flashback): If you know how to read a watch, then you can say, "Time Is on My Side."

This line is totally badass because it's from the Rolling Stones.

ROSHI (flashback): When you put two strands of time together, you get one strand of time made up of two strands of time together.

GOHAN (flashback): Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives.

GOKU remembers that soap operas are totally badass and worth saving the Earth for.

GOKU (v.o.): Earth is such a badass place cuz it has soap operas, and there are girls in it too and they're hot. I have to watch these soap operas and make out with these girls cuz they're hot and so are good for having babies. I'd better save it.

GOKU becomes totally badass and fixes his stone, which was badass because it was rocking, but now it's not because GOKU made it stop rocking cuz he's badass. Piccolo looks really badass with his red energy that's as awesome as the glowing eye of The Terminator that is Schwarzenegger, who is badass, but it shouldn't look too much like The Terminator because that movie was rated R, and this movie is PG-13.

PICCOLO and GOKU do some fighting moves that are more awesome and badass than the TAE BO exercise videos by BILLY BLANKS. They're moving faster than the biggest badass ever moving fast. I'm gonna get my popcorn. KACHEE!! SPLEE!! RECTOCLICKASOINKT!! KLIKATOO KLAKKATOO!! NANU NANU!!

Wow, yo!! PICCOLO is dead. I can't believe it sorta like people not believing in the LUCKY CHARMS LEPRECHAUN.

YAMCHA goes over to BULMA.

YAMCHA: You're so hot it's badass.

BULMA: I know.

YAMCHA and BULMA go off to rent a room at a seedy motel in SHIPPINGPORT.

Also i just noticed there was nothing to do with Mr Popo or Kami in the script, so they must be new add ins.

Piccolo had no connection to the balls at all except that he needed them to take over the universe.

This is not a great script by any means. But for a first draft, this already would make a better film then fantastic four. This script is surprisingly decent for a rejected script. Knowing fox, thats out of the norm. if anyone read the original transformers script, would agree that it was just as awful. I'm ignoring the whole dragonball legend/games aspect because i know that it wont be a factor in the new script. Ramsey was obviously a poor choice for this film, and it showed. Luckily wong was brought in to re-write it. He obviously kept the eclipse storyline, but piccolo is the main villain, and the final act will consist of the World martial arts tournament, and would hope took away gokus modern slang. If thats the case i definitely see a promising film. We get a decent script + Great FX. Thats already ahead of transformers, great Fx -Script.
