Dragonball will be rebooted according to Fox rep! No continuation to DB:E!

After the U.S. producers experienced a major failure with the signing of Dragon Ball: Evolution, we get information from our correspondents in Miami that Dragon Ball will be restarted and not only that, but also confirmed a forthcoming trilogy.

Such confirmation said the spokesman for 20th Century Fox, Abraham Sullivan:

"If we have another movie (Dragon Ball), we are currently discussing the resumption of the trilogy" Sullivan said our correspondent.

"The only problems we have are the scripts are not finished yet and will be reviewed by our executives, as well as walk in the search for a new director to make such delivery" said the spokesman for the Fox

Dragon Ball: Evolution was a big failure in 2009, so we are very slope of the next installment of this famous series.

I'd take this with a grain of salt but if it has any validity its definitely a step in the right direction not to make a direct continuation of DB:E and star anew on a blank slate.

I'm still completely skeptical because this is Fox and even if it does come into fruition who's to say Fox won't hire talent like Wong and Ramsey again repeating the same mistakes they did in the last film.

OK -- this reboot thing has gone way too far now.

Next thing you know, they're gonna start rebooting franchises in the middle of the first movie shooting !

I didn't expect to see a reboot this quickly, or at all to be honest.

This is such good news. New directer, new actors, new script, new everything. PLEASE do it right this time.

Especially new writer. I mean the guy wrote "a good day to be black and sexy" how could they think he would write a good db movie?

Hopefully they learned their lesson and will do a purist version.

Is Zach Snyder available?

Fox will need to hire capable writers, director, and producer if it hopes of even reviving something that was killed so miserably quickly.

They also will need time to develop this movie throughly and more careful than last time if they want to have a movie thats at least half more coherent as the last.

I'm honestly not surprised. I firmly believe that DB:E was only made so they wouldn't lose the rights.

I seriously hope they keep James Martsters. He was the only true fan in the cast and Crew and I liked Piccolo.

honestly i'm not surprised either. i've mentioned before that Fox is a money hungry company that is willing to exploit the properties that is has so i'm not surprised that they're willing to do it again so soon after they've failed. planning a reboot this soon is a mistake, but Fox is going to do whatever they want regardless of logic.

hopefully any director even CONSIDERING doing this reboot will realize what a mess DBE was and will want to stay away from this franchise for a while...but i doubt that also. there are a bunch of hack directors out there that are as willing to exploit DB as Fox and James Wong were.

yep james wong has been dismissed...... just like jc if there's any justice for db fans in the movie world

Yeah, who the hell is saying this?

Who is Abraham Sullivan and when did he say this? The source link is in Spanish.

And it says DISCUSSING in the English thing up top.

I dont even know what to think about this:wow::woot::huh::csad:.
I hope it will happen to bad fox is still doing it.

There might be a reboot?

It still might be under the control of FOX?

lol... is FOX still trying to reboot Daredevil and Fantastic Four? Are those even under FOX? hmm.. my memory is failing me again...

well at least FOX knows that they NEED TO DO SOMETHING QUICK!

Yes Fantastic Four and Daredevil's filming rights are still over at Fox and they've said they are working on rebooting both of them after driving them in to the ground.

I still doubt this Dragonball reboot will even happen. If DB:E failure along with the other miserable excuses for movies Fox has been releasing as of late have taught us anything is the fact that Fox could care less about making a good movie and more about the cash.

I really don't know what to say to this...except  and :facepalm

I'm not going to buy too much into this for now. I'll wait until we get some more info. I'm honestly surprised to hear about a reboot though. I was totally not expecting that.

well, fox didn't realize how popular dragonball was popular worldwide,

they also realize they they left a lot of money on the table

dbe has tainted the dragonball from the comic and anime,

if they are smart they'll start this reboot in space with Goku's father Bardock,
young King Vegeta, Frieza, King Cold, Guru, Nail, and the Saiyans

they could develope a story that the creator of dragonball only touched on...

ok first of all, DBE didnt taint anything, it was just a bad movie, it doesnt effect anything but itself. If your a fan of dragonball, ur still a fan of dragonball. I saw the movie and yes im still a fan of dragonball, so drop the "oh this movie ruined my childhood crap."

I have the feeling FOX pushed this movie into production so fast was possibly due to their rights to the property expiring so they had to make a movie in order to retain the rights. I heard something similar about Fox and the xmen property, that they have to make a xmen movie ever few years in order to retain the rights otherwise they revert back to Marvel. This is just a theory that i have, but ya i dont expect another DB movie for a long time
