Lol this is all interesting talk, but we all know there won't be any more DB movies made thanks to Evolution. Give it up, Fanboys lol

I've noticed that the Japanese are getting more genre driven with their films (and it seems like the Koreans are the leading the pack with dramas).

If there was ever another Dragon ball, it'll probably be by the Japanese.

The funny thing was that it was originally supposed to end not only after the cell saga, but also after the Freiza saga with Goku becoming a Super Saiyan, sacrificing himself to save the universe, and stay dead.

perfect ending, and in my mind exactly what happened

ya. ur allowed to pic 1 of the 3 endings. (i say 3 because gt doesn't count because....it's only a figment of some1s imagination???)

this is because twice the story was ended and goku was dead 4evah. then they retconnned it both times. so cell and buu sagas are really the alternate endings of dbz. altho in my mind it goes to the end of the buu saga.

If they end a DBZ trilogy with the Frieza saga is there anything from the later sagas you would miss seeing adapted to live action? If you do, can you see any way of it being placed into the trilogy or would it be impossible?

For me, it's the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and Goku's instant transmission technique.
Maybe they can fit the HTC in the Frieza saga where instead of Goku training in his spaceship, he trains there and then leaves for Namek.
I don't think there's anyway of fitting in the instant transmission technique because Goku has to crash on that alien planet, unless... they change it so Kami or Mr. Popo knows the technique and Goku learns it from one of them.

Trunks, and thats it.

I always found the HTC to be bull**** but I like the idea of it being in his spaceship.

seeing gohan become the first saiyan to go ssj2 and his one handed kamehameha wave that kills cell.

they should wait for fox to lose the rights then let another company take a crack at it :/

the androids cyborg frieza cell and trunks. but maybe if they do 2 trilogies........

wait frieza and namek r the same saga. so movie 1 would be the saiyans movie 2 would be namek/frieza and movie 3 would end it w/ cell.

A DBZ trilogy should just focus on the events that leads Goku to Frieza. Anything more would just screw the time it would take to focus on everything. As cool as it would be for some to see Trunks and Cell, it is just too much information to fit into a trilogy when you already have several sagas leading up to the reveal of the Super Saiyan.

I dont think Trunks or Cell being in the film would be a problem, have a brief fight scene between Trunks and the Androids take place in the future which leads him to go to the past, just before Cell arrives. When he arrives in the past he explains the events of the future. Trunks story is similar to that of the Terminator, so I dont see a real challenge in having him in the film

I actually think that's my favorite moment in the entire series, when Gohan first goes SSJ2. Everyone but Goku can't believe it and he's just smiling knowingly, Cell is stunned and Gohan's just staring solemnly.

only thing i liked post frieza saga was trunks and vegeta being a reluctant hero (altho it seemed way out of character) a good end for vegeta was telling kakurat he was the chosen one and to beat frieza

if treated like a major LotR, Avatar, TDK type movie than yes. if treated w/ an "if we build it they will come" attitude and given half the budget of a normal normal major summer flick or if they hire a director who just doesn't get it than no.

And a director who is actually a long-time fan, so it'll be done as faithfully as possible. But I'm really starting to think this is one anime that should stay an anime.

not really you just need a competent director not final destination director lol

The one thing about DB:E was that everyone wanted Krillin in the movie but him along with other things like Goku and Krillin's eight months of training with Roshi, the tournament and later Tien/Chiaotzu's first appearance only happen after the dragon balls were deactivated for a year.
So, how would one fit that stuff in when Goku and Bulma are in the middle of finding the dragon balls and King Piccolo is roaming around?

just start the dbz movie like the anime. alien space pod lands on earth and raditz searches for kakarrot. we find out goku is an alien and raditz is his brother. then after his defeat he explains 2 more saiyans are coming to earth to enslave humanity. dead goku gets training from king kai, piccolo trains gohan and the z warriors train and so on and so on. follow the saiyan saga trimming the fat where needed. final battle vegeta defeated.

He created a cool story?

No he didn't. The entire series is this

....

Change Goku with Gohan in a few instances, and it's basically the entire series.

You're talkin about plot resolutions , but what i was praising about Toryama's work was related to the universe he created.

Any talented screenwriter should be able to write a good movie based on this show.
