Idiot.A flight attendant for Atlantic Southeast Airlines who was removed from a plane because she was allegedly drunk was arraigned Monday in a Lexington, Ky. court.
Public safety officials at the Lexington airport said the flight attendant threatened the jet's captain, telling him "You're dead" as she was removed from the plane.
Sarah Mills, 26, was taken from the ASA plane and arrested at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington Sunday afternoon, said Kate Modolo, a spokeswoman for Atlanta-based ASA. The regional carrier flies as a Delta Air Lines affiliate.
The Federal Aviation Administration charged Mills with making terrorist threats, intoxication and violating a law against being a crew member of an airplane while drunk.
Court records say a breath test found her blood alcohol level was .032 â lower than Kentucky's legal limit of .08 to operate a motor vehicle. She refused blood and urine tests, the court records said.
The court records also said Mills admitted drinking whiskey on the plane.
It was not immediately clear whether Mills had an attorney.
ASA does not yet have details on the incident, Modolo said Monday evening, but she said Mills' confrontation was not with passengers.
"ASA does not tolerate the alleged behavior. We are conducting an internal investigation and will take appropriate action," she said.
Flight 4865 from Lexington to Atlanta was cancelled after the incident Sunday because of staff shortage.
Passengers were accommodated on later Delta flights and bused to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to continue their travel.
"We haven't encountered this particular situation before," Modolo said. "Fortunately, we have more than 900 flight attendants who perform their duties at an extremely high level every day with the safety and best interest of passengers at the top of their mind."
Mills was released Monday from Fayette County Detention Center in Kentucky on $3,500 bail and will return to court on Aug.14.
