Okay, I just the idea to start this thread because I was talking to my friend Amber and we were going to watch Superman Returns, she had never seen a Superman movie but I still thought that people knew his basics.. Well, anyways I was talking about Kryptonite when Lex was stealing it, and she asked me what it was and I said "Its the one thing that hurt superman." and then she went off on me telling me I gave away the ending and she didn't want to watch it..

My sister on Batman Begins.
What's going on in the movie: Batman is standing on a rooftop whil the sun rises
What she asks: "Why is Batman copying Spiderman?"
I'm a year younger than her and this happened in the theatre.

You need to slap your friend in the back of the head. why?

1: kryptonite has been the pop culture reference for any kind of weakness ever since the 1st Superman movie back in the 70's.

2: Any person that asks a question, then throws a fit when you answer and won't leave you a chance to explain, deserves to be slapped.

Oh, yes... the classic ''Batman is a copy of Spider-Man'' thing. You gotta love it.

My friend : ''Why is Batman still Batman while he's in the bat-cave, even though nobody sees him down there?"

**slap**

My Friend
Spider-man 2 - "So where is Catwoman?"
Superman Returns - "I think this kid is Superman's brother"
My Brother
Batman Begins - "Why did Ducard come back?"
My Ex-girldfriend
Spider-man 2 - "Wow, MJ is higher than Spider-man!"
Batman Begins - "Is Batman going to team-up with Ninja-Turtles?" (during scene in temple)

Wow some of those are so dumb they dont even sound real.

"The Thing is just a ripoff of the Hulk."

I wanted to kill my friend, Gibby.

:thing: :thing: :thing:

How is that dumb? If she doesn't know the details of Superman, it's not dumb.

What is dumb, and embarassing, is geeks scoffing at other people for not knowing the intricate details of their beloved sci-fi/fantasy franchises. That's exactly what Comicbook Guy in The Simpsons does, and that's why we laugh at him.

I would agree with you, but...come on, Kryptonite is a pop-culture item. I could go to a five year-old and they could tell me what Kryptonite is.

Dude, Kryptonite is a ****ing pop culture reference.. Everyone knows it!

I was just thinking about something similar to this. When none-comic readers (or strict marvel zombies) trash superman as being one dimensional. I just wish everyone would just read Kingdom Come and see what makes him so awesome.

Kingdom Come is great! I'm not a Marvel Zombie or a DCAddict, I'm in the middle a Dark Horsian.

My dad while watching the Hulk (The scene while they're taking him to the desert base. This happened late 2003/early 2004 btw).

"Why the f**k are they taking Hulk to Irak? Is he gonna kill Saddam or something?"

" X-men movies suck. Where the f' is gambit! he was an original!"

  :(

Batman Begins

"The Joker killed Bruce Waynes parents"

:ninja:

My Friend
Spider-man 2 - "So where is Catwoman?"
Well, she could be mixed up with Black Cat in some people's mind
Superman Returns - "I think this kid is Superman's brother"
My Brother
suddenly I think of supes and Lois' romance as gross for some reason ;).
Batman Begins - "Why did Ducard come back?"
My Ex-girldfriend
I've got nothing
Spider-man 2 - "Wow, MJ is higher than Spider-man!"
I'm not sure I understand what the quote means
Batman Begins - "Is Batman going to team-up with Ninja-Turtles?" (during scene in temple) Now that's just dumb

I remember having a hell of a time trying to explain to my (then) girlfriend exactly why M.J. had that look on her face at the end of Spider-Man 2(when she's watching Peter swing away).

Batman Begins

"The Joker killed Bruce Waynes parents"

:ninja:

Well, the Joker DID kill his parents. I don't think he was the first person to do this though. By that....if I remember correctly, in the comics it was some bum or somebody...but in the 89 flick...it was Joker. Correct me if I am wrong.

But I am sure most non-comic batman fans will say Joker killed them. Batman Begins was going back to the original person.

"The Joker killed Bruce Waynes parents"

That reminds me of what my sister said when we were watching the movie. Her exact quote when Joe Chill came on screen:
"So.....that's Joker?"

LMfao not about comic movies but once my girlfriend asked me where Captain America was from .:D

Well...it doesn't concern a movie... but I knew someone that had been watching Smallville for two seasons....and when I told her the show was about Superman as a teen....she didn't believe me.

Actually, that's a good question.

Actually, that's a good question.

Not really since he never does that in the movies.

Here's a list of scenes in the cave involving Bruce/Batman:

Batman 89

-Bruce leaves his party to check the security tapes before going to Axis Chemicals.
-Batman brings Vicky Vale back to the batcave for protection and the film of her camera. Obviously he's dressed as Batman since he's got company.
-Bruce reads the file about his parents. Still Dressed as Bruce when Vicky walks in the cave he suits up since he's going out.

Batman Returns

-Bruce slides in the batcave to go suit up. he's on his way out for action.
-After the 1st fight with Catwoman, Bruce is in the process of removing his costume in the batcave.
-Bruce plays D.J. to mess with Penguin's speech. Dressed as bruce.
-Bruce is fixing the batmobile when alfred comes in with an invitation. Again, Bruce is dressed as Bruce.

Batman Forever

-Batman is lecturing Dick about revenge in the batcave while undressing out of frame. comes out as Bruce.
-Bruce is getting patched up by Alfred. Naked Bruce Wayne from the waist up.
-Bruce shuts down the batcave. dressed as bruce since he's quitting being Batman.
-Bruce suits up before going out to fight Two-Face and Riddler in a final showdown.

Do I really have to try remembering Batman & Robin? :(

Fine! There's 2 scenes where Batman is suiting up in the cave before going out to fight.

Batman Begins

-Bruce discovers the cave
-Bruce crawls in the cave after coming back in Gotham. He stands in a tornado of bats.
-Bruce sets up the cave with lights and checks out the waterfall.
-Bruce makes his weapons.
-Batman brings Rachel back to the cave. He takes off his mask as soon as she's passed out.
-Bruce suits up for the final showdown.

So... When does Bruce Wayne stay Batman while in the cave, in the movies ?
