Sci-Fi Dune

Don't see it at all. Just seems really miscast as Leto. But whatever. Good actor.

I would have preferred someone older, Oscar would have made a great Duncan. I'm pretty darn excited anyhow.

I think it's one of more interesting casting choices so far.

Oscar Isaac as a popular and elegant leader doesn’t seem like a huge stretch.

I'm glad to see Oscar is involved, the announcement i'm most excited for that is left has gotta be the soundtrack/score composer. It's a shame Johannsson is gone, cause now I really couldn't guess who Denis would pick.

Whoever he picks, I hope he/she writes MUCH better music for the film, than what was written for his previous works.

Yes bring me those grounded giant sandworms.

You’re alone on this again (though not as much as you are on your opinions on Deakins.)

The score for Sicario feels like an already great and immersive primer for what Jóhannsson could have done with Dune.

Pff... If it's going to be yet another echoing noise or percussion...

I don't care if I alone on Deakins. I don't like his dull and self-indulgent cinematography. Glad he's gone.

What's the deal with this Zendaya... I saw her a number of times and I can't say anything about her acting or looks. She's kinda "there".

She was fine in Greatest Showman, and seems to have picked up some more serious roles recently. I was hoping for a bit different ethnicity, but it isn't a deal breaker.

Yeah, she was fine in Greatest Showman and I even liked how she was in Spiderman
If she is casted I wonder how she will look with red hair/dark orange.

If she's in the film, I'm more interested how she will look with the eyes of Ibad.

And looks like saga of Zendaya playing redheads continues. MJ, Ariel, Chani... Conspiracy.

Her tough girl shtick in Spiderman was awful to me, which is what I'm afraid she'd do with this role.

Meh, I'm not worried about her pulling off the look actually, she's a bit of a chameleon there.

Since when is Chani a red head?

Children of Dune when it is mentioned that Ghanima ( her daughter ) has the red hair of her mother.

Edit : best books quote about her appearance ( copied from a reddit thread
)

Chani Kynes - skinny redhead

“…and a girl there—very skinny with big eyes. Her eyes are all blue, no whites in them.” Paul describing his dreams of Chani, from chapter 1 of Dune.

“...he saw an elfin face, black pits of eyes.” Paul seeing Chani for the first time. From chapter 2 of Dune.

“There was Chani’s red hair...” Description of Ghanima, from Children of Dune.

“She had a full head of tawny red hair.” Paul describing newborn Ghanima, from Dune Messiah.
