What was The Crew?

That definitely caught my interest and I can't wait to hear more. I don't know about the online aspect of it, but I like the open-world RPG aspect.

And was it just me, or did it seem like the voices were from the people playing it, and not from the actual characters. I didn't like that since it was like a game that was self aware of it being a game.

I think that was the point. At the end you even hear them say "another group of players" and "get ready for pvp".

Off topic, but is that show pretty good? Iv always thought it looked interesting and i love Michael Emerson, but iv just never watched it.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. Knowing some of the shows you dig, I think you'll like it. There's alot of 'big brother' themes, with espionage tossed in. Alot of the hacking and spying on people, etc. is covered in it. It's why Watch Dogs reminds me alot of it.

It was created by Jonah Nolan. And funny enough, it seems like they had gotten Batman and split him into two different characters. I just finished the first season, waiting for season 2 to hit blu-ray.

Season one, a blu-ray/dvd combo, is actually super cheap usually. Something like $25 last I check, and it comes with like 10 discs.

That's why I was curious....I'm wondering if that's part of the "plot," that the whole thing is some great big game with real-life killing. All meta and stuff.

Which makes me wonder if devs will be able to do things with XB-One that maybe the other consoles cant due to the fact you have to have a constant internet connection? Will they take advantage of that, or is it strictly an anti piracy used game feature?

A big thing that has been touted with the X1 is that a portion of a game can be run from the cloud which allows them to create bigger/more powerful games. Obviously a connection would be required for that to work.

I think I've read that doing that brings it more on par with the sheer horsepower of the PS4, so who knows what kind of difference it will make.

It seems like the story of next gen is going to be combining single player and multiplayer.

Dat Souls influence.

And open world, as well. There seems to be a focus on combing sp and mp, and just giving us an huge open world.

Atleast, it seems to be.

Yeah, Titanfall is apparently using it for some background calculations and stuff. I thought it was going to be used later in the generation when the hardware started getting stretched a bit.

The Division was definitely the best of this show. Its funny because Watch Dogs comes off as a GTA styled game mixed with Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell gameplay, but this looks like the Watch Dog interface and world mixed with a Mass Effect type of combat. Sign me up!

I can't wait to see what the customization is like.

Now we'll see what they bring to the table new, if anything.

Hmm, interesting. Wonder if there will be any more talk on that leading up to Nov? That could be really neat and make me feel a little better about the mandatory online connection. I mean as it stands i dont have an issue with a persistent online connection, my net rarely goes down and if it does its never more than a few hours but i dont like the idea behind a mandatory online connection being just something to stop piracy or used games. If you can prove to me you can use that feature to better games, sure, ill bite.

Online, team-based, open world racing game.
Hmmm, I need to see that. No idea whether it would be my thing or not. Thanks.

Basically you'd be receiving DLC almost seamlessly while you're playing is what it sounds like.

I just hope there is a great Single player mode involved. I won't mind if its something like Borderlands where its meant to be played in a group but can also be played on your own.

Regarding Titanfall:

Representatives from Rewpawn Entertainment mentioned that the Microsoft compute cloud will figure heavily into the game. The compute cloud will most certainly allow much of the physics engine to offload less-critical information about moving objects so that the console itself can pay attention to whatever is up-close-and-personal; and secondarily teammate and enemy AI can keep moving even when it’s out of sight (but not out of mind) which will produce a more dynamic battlefield.

Also, as a New Yorker, I loved how The Division had a real Winter in NY look to it. Maybe that just makes me biased.

This is definitely what Microsoft have claimed as the reason for it (whether true or not). I think it's part of why they were surprised by the huge negative reaction to always online having done the research on current Live customers (who stay online nearly all the time even when they are playing single player games and probably answered questions about always being online without knowing that it might lead to them needing to be online all the time). But what do they expect when they don't go into any depth on the positive side of it and let the negative rumours build up for so long without justifying the reason for it.
