Which of the big three companies do you think had the strongest press conference?

Sony had the best. But none of them where particularly amazing, including Sony's.

Yep, Sony owned this year. I found Microsoft's the worst. Sony made up for last year, big time. Well, except for the PSP redesign. What a dissapointment.

IA. Sony made quite a comeback compared to what tehy had last year

Yeah out of the 3 Sony had the best.

Sony, by far.
Xbox had some interesting games, but Sony has more that I'm looking forward to.

They all sucked. The only cool thing I heard this year is that Sony's dropping the 20 gig PS3 and switching it with the 60 gig. Other than that...yawn. :o

I haven't even checked their presentations so I just picked "They all sucked".

To be fair, we really can't blame Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo for E3's suckage. It was the way the event was designed and well, now it's a borefest. Hell, even Hideo Kojima said so during Konami's event.

Overall I have to say Sony.

Microsoft did a good job showing the games, but it was everything we knew about, they relied far too much on multiplatform games, Peter Moore just came off as a *****e, and the only "announcement" was a fugly ass Halo 3 Edition of the Xbox 360. It's nice to see that Games for Windows is being taken very seriously, but does every Xbox 360 game have to appear on the platform, why not try and keeps some games only on the Xbox 360 and make some games just for the PC? Also, Viva Pinata: Party Animals looks ******ed.

Nintendo made some cool announcements with the Wii Wheel, Wii Zapper, Mario Kart, Wii Fit, and release dates, but they've should have shown more and I was expecting a LOT more with Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Sony gets big bonus points for having a superior E3 showing than last years. They showed some games, a good amount were exclusives. They nabbed Haze and Unreal Tournament 3 as timed exclusives. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was confirmed as a Playstation 3 exclusive....YET AGAIN. And I guess the Playstation Portable redesign counts as a better announcement than the Halo 3 Xbox 360 (though not as cool as the Wii Wheel and Wii Zapper).

Where can we even watch the conferences? I've only been able to find the Microsoft one.

personally i think microsoft owned....
assassins creed etc. were all solid

metalgear yet again showed nothing of gameplay... killzone2 is crap...
the only highlight for sony was the underdog "LittleBigPlanet",lol

one word: MASSEFFECT <<<<<two words lol

I think Sony, the most dissapointing thing was MS offering them a head start with a meh conference, but they didn't really take the oppertunity.

They all sucked.

Microsoft - No new game announcements.
Sony - Phil Harrison playing with Home too much.
Nintendo - Wii fitness and DS coverage... terrible.

None of them were particularly good. I want Sega to make a comeback. Dreamcast owns 360 and PS3. If Wii weren't so damn addictive Dreamcast would own it too.

Yeah everyone was saying that Microsoft held back and Sony capitalized but Sony was very conservative if not almost equally conservative as Microsoft was.

Sony: I didn't like the format of their conference which was essentially trailer trailer montage 10 second clips of games. I would have preferred they show some sequences of games being played. They seemed more real the the presenters at the Microsoft conference. But they ultimately held back so much it was really surprising.

Everyone said the PSP had a good showing but it had virtually no presence. The refined model of the PS3 seemed much too similar to the old one for me to rebuy it (the thing that would have changed my mind is internal storage). Yes they had a good bundle pack and announced some colors but they have a wealth of first and third party PSP games that they could have presented at the conference.

The most we saw was Star Wars Battle Front (whatever) Echrone (Spelling) and a 10 second clip of a locoroco/lemming game that shows promise. But they didn't show any PSP heavy hitters.

What about God of War? Why didn't we see a full trailer with an epic gameplay sequence? Why didn't we see Final Fantasy Crisis Core? Why didn't we see Jeanne D'Arc or Final Fantasy Tactics or Monster Hunter 2 announcement? They gave the PSP virtually no presence it was really suprising.

They really nailed it in terms of presenting PSN games though:

Socom Confrontation
Warhawk
Echrome
Wipeout HD (omg)
Pain

The problem with the conference was the format and lack of new announcements really. They didn't touch on 2008 at all except for Killzone 2 and Infamous, and they have a ton more games in development that are ready to be shown off right now that are slatted for 2008 and arly 2008.

What about:

White Knight Story
Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy Verus XIII
Afrika
Wipeout PS3
SantaMonicas unrevealed game
Heavy Rain (2007?)
Digiguys game
NCsofts games
+ the many unannounced projects in development right now

They're holding back most of their content and new announcements for TGS, in fact they have more content and announcements to make then Microsoft does for the 2008 timeline.

The home features were welcome and the news of Haze and Unreal Tournament III were great news for PS3 owners and fills a hole in the PS3 Christmas lineup (shooters). The news the Unreal Engine 3.0 will finally be optimized properly for the PS3 is almost even better news since like every dev is using Unreal Engine 3.0.

They did show their commitment to a board base though and the features implemented in home will be great, I just hope they've provided the hooks to developers.
