Does anyone remember the show Early Edition?

For those that don't, it was a show starring Kyle Chandler, he played a guy who got tomorrows newspaper delivered today, he didn't know where it came from but there was always a ginger cat around when the paper appeared. As he was armed with knowledge that had yet to occur, he set about preventing bad things that happened to people which he read about in the paper.

Would love a remake of this show, its got great potential.

Does anyone want to see a new version?

I remember that show... they were filming it here in Chicago... I remember during the filming of the Christmas episode, I came out of the building where I was working and onto a scene that was being filmed and ruined the shot... jeez, Kyle Chandler had a look on him and at me that could kill... LOL...

now that I think back on the show after almost 20 years now, it WAS not too bad of a show, what with Gary trying to prevent crises of all sorts... it just got weird when they were starting to go in the direction that Gary was the current person getting the paper in a line of people getting the paper early from the cat thruout the years... plus, I liked it cause it highlighted my city with on-location stuff..

I honestly haven't seen it since I was much younger, probably late 90's very early 2000's, I loved it then but my tastes have changed I'm guessing over the years.
I just remember really liking the concept of the show when I was younger and I still think its a great idea for a tv show today, I would watch a remake anyway.

Used to watch it on Fox Family and I liked it. I don't remember how it ended (if it ended).

the show never had any sort of resolution, but they WERE building on the mythology that Gary was just the current one in a short line of people who got the paper one day early from the cat thruout the years...

Oh, ok. I just remember him, his blind friend, and the cat. Not much else.

that was during the last season of the show... he also had a cop friend who owned a bar and a pain-in-the-ass buddy named Chuck, that showed up every so often...

Hmm... can't say I remember him. Maybe Fox Family didn't get that far with it.

I remember it playing on daytime television on the weekends here in Australia.

It was easy to watch and quite interesting. Good for passing a bit of time.

The show was decent and I remember that I watched it every week, though towards the end quality of the writing had dipped imo.

I think the show is obscure enough that they could just make something completely new with the concept, no need to use anything other than the early newspaper.

Yeah exactly, I think its a really nice idea for a show, all you need is the newspaper concept

remember it. loved it. the newspaper was always accompanied by an orange cat. i forget why that was or if the show had a proper ending.

I think the concept would have to be updated to reflect that printed paper is dwindling

or the main character is the only person who get's an actual paper while everyone uses an app.
