WWE must not like Regal on commentary because he actually enhances things by explaining strategy and getting characters over. I usually agree with Trips when it comes to NXT, but he's flat out wrong on this.

I don't watch NXT, but it doesn't shock me that Regal got booted if he was focusing on the wrestling. God forbid someone do anything other than spew canned lines and nicknames.

"Did you know Dean Ambrose is the lunatic fringe, Cole?"
"That's right, JBL! And also, the Lunatic Fringe's opponent tonight is THe Great White, Sheamus, who is the Great White!"
"Wow! The Great White versus the Lunatic Fringe! I bet The Game is going to enjoy this with his employee, the Cenation Leader!"

Nicknames are great--until they are not.

Willie Mack gave us an emotional speech on the final night of BOLA. Never did get the push he deserved there in PWG. Oh well, at least he's Vince/Orlando bound.

- As noted, William Regal was recently named the new General Manager of WWE’s NXT brand. There’s talk at NXT that officials were not happy with Regal’s work doing NXT commentary so they gave him the new role. There was a feeling that Regal’s commentary came across as “too bland” according to the report.
This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard. Regal was probably the best commentator on WWE TV. Regal gave insight, sold the talent in the ring, sold the storylines/rivalrys and provided humour without being insulting or juvenile like JR and King often are.

This goes back to the lack of roster depth on both the babyface and heel side, especially when it comes to main event stars. One WWE source said it was a huge issue with Vince McMahon right now as he feels the company is not building main event stars fast enough.
Is it any surprise with the stop start pushes and short term booking view they take that they don't have more credible main event stars.

Cesaro could of been a main event heel if the WWE booked him better

I'll give more general thoughts on the super fun live experience of the 2014 PWG Battle of Los Angeles a little later, but I will say this:
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO [BLACKOUT]RICOCHET[/BLACKOUT] ON WINNING THE BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES.

Though I have to say this: what the heck is PWG trying to do with Roderick Strong?

Sinn Bodhi posted the following update on Jake "The Snake" Roberts late Sunday night:

"UPDATE on Jake the Snake Roberts: Today Jake underwent a Bronchoscopy... An evasive surgery to remove flem etc trapped in his lungs... He is breathing better but still on ventilator. In the moments of Jake being awake from sedation today he was telling jokes & messing with nurses! That is a good sign!!! That's Jake being Jake! Tomorrow or next day docs will give Jake oxygen tests to see how well he can breath without ventilator and proceed from there... GetBetterJake"

We're pulling for you, Jake

JR was juvenile or insulting?

I think he may have meant JBL. Anyway, JR and Regal was my favorite announce team of recent history.

From last night. I don't even...

That is awesome!

Wish I could have watched BoLA live. Reading results is never the same. :csad:

They went from being rebels to being walking catch-phrases.

They had their moments though. I loved their "War on WCW" when they tried to trespass at Nitro and CNN Headquarters. That was a giant f**k you to WCW from the WWE and I couldn't wait to see how they responded.

We lived in great times back then....:)

Honestly, AJ Styles and Ricochet are neck-in-neck for Wrestler of the Year. It's very close honestly. WWE must feel REALLY stupid right now for passing up on the latter.

So, there's a new independent promotion called RONIN starting here on the 27th. I might go. There will be a meet and greet beforehand with the talent and RVD

95 Mainstream pro wrestling in general isn't worth your time.
