Just watched True Life: I'm a Pro Wrestler. The Tony Atlas parts were very depressing.

Did you guys hear that Prince Devitt is on the verge on getting a WWE contract?

Devitt and Kenta would be awesome but I wonder if Kenny Omega ever has a chance

Put it this way, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him back in the E somewhere down the line.

While most of the happenings surrounding this situation from his side seem (and most likely are) legit (i.e. injuries, burnout, loss of passion for a company with direction such as this one), Punk is a very clever guy. You need only to look how he was basically out the door in 2011 with seemingly no care or worry either way from the E, and within 5 minutes had them bent over a barrell almost begging him to stay and willing to meet the demands he had. It could all be part of the plan.

They met some of his demands, not all of them. Otherwise, this wouldn't have happened. It could be part of a plan. Maybe he timed this correctly with the reaction to the Royal Rumble and the media's attention to Daniel Bryan's plight. Maybe he just got tired of everything and walked out.

Or maybe this is a work. At least I hope.

Maybe this will lift some spirits after today:

Yeah, I was more referring to his personal demands (i.e. monetary, etc) rather than company direction, lol. I'm in no doubt that he is at the end of the tether with everything, but I think it could be a culmination of all that mentioned. This may be one last chance to make a final protest towards things. If something comes of it, however unlikely given the way things are, then cool, if not, then Punk is pretty much set for life, and doesn't need them as much as they probably could do with him on board.

Wow, just heard about Punk. :csad: He is my favorite. Such a shame. I really hope this is a work. I doubt it though.

Also just in case, someone in WWE or otherwise, tries to use ratings as an excuse to screw Bryan over:

That's just a frickin sample of the viewership that HIS SEGMENTS have brought in. 1 MILLION with THE SHIELD and 900,000 with F__CKING WADE BARRETT. Part-time or Full time, when was the last time someone was over enough to bring in THAT many viewers with a faction of new comers on the roster or someone like Wade Barrett?

People tend to use revisionism to throw the "didnt Draw" tag on Bryan but the proof is there. Bryan's segments themselves have produced gains in viewership REGARDLESS of who WWE feels they should blame.(99.9% of the time they should be blaming themselves)

Here's my thoughts on the ratings: If everytime someone tunes in, Bryan is getting his butt kicked, why would they stick around? Who sticks around to watch their hero get beat up all of the time? Had they put the machine behind him, protected him and really pushed him, he could be a stronger draw. I'm sure Cena wasn't drawing serious numbers in his few months and it had to build up with him looking strong. And PPVs weren't built up well and ended up being weak. Let's not even get started on Battleground.

Damn, that dude got banned real quick. I was about to reply to his post and everything.

Funny thing is DESPITE that Bryan's segments still bring in viewers most of the time whether it's 200,000 or 1 million viewers is simply left up to chance. I've got some numbers posted above in bold

I can't wait for Monday. I hope there's like post-Wrestlemania Raw nuclear heat.

I just hope this Punk issue doesn't overshadow Daniel Bryan and kill his support.

and the other thing is......there's only so long you can drag a storyline out before people get bored/fed up with it.

how long as the Bryan vs Authority storyline been going on?

since SS ( which was, what, July/August? ).

and most of the storyline has been Bryan getting screwed over by the authority.

so........
