Elder Scrolls V - Part 2

I took a few days off. Played last night for about 2 hours. Felt good to be back :) I was a little adventurous, so I killed a giant for the hell of it. I also had my first (successful) encounter with a dragon on my own (i've only beat them with help from NPCs before). I didn't die once, though I nearly did when a pack of wolves showed up to bite me in the ass.

How do you guys fight your dragons? Here's what I did to beat this guy:

I've got a dwarven bow with a destruction enchantment. As the dragon is flying around, I toss arrows at him. When they hover above the ground before landing, I shoot a few more times, then use the dash shout to get behind them before they land; this way I'm free of their teeth and fire. I swap out the bow to dual wield an enchanted sword and destruction magic, and pelt his ass with steel and spells.* Repeat as needed.

*It was at this point when the wolves attacked me. I turned around from the dragon's butt to find 5 wolves jumping at me. By the time I had frantically taken them out, I forgot all about the dragon, who had turned around during my distraction. That was a total "YIKES!" moment when I finished with the wolves and turned to see a dragon's jaws not a foot from my face, lol. Got caught with a nasty ball of fire and my health dropped to less than 5%. Thank god for health potions.

on the console versions, can you adust the height of your character?

I'd like to make a female Nord, but she just looks so tall compared to the other NPCs ( yeah, I know Nords are supposed to be tall.......but still...... ).

I really haven't been able to put in much time to the game. I was hoping to get some in this weekend, but I've got band practice tonight, a recording session during the day tomorrow, and then a show tomorrow night. I was gonna use sunday as my day to play, but now i've got some family coming by my place (I recently moved). Then there's work and thanksgiving stuff next week. Looks like it'll be another week before I get to play again :(

Just killed two dragons at the same time. That is why I love Skyrim so very very much. I've got an Ebony Warhammer that does 78 damage and it doesn't take long to beat a Dragon to death.

Did you do the final quest yet ?
You are going to **** yourself seeing 3 to 4 Dragons flying in the sky at the same time at one point

No I haven't gotten that far. I'm only on the 5th main quest I think. I just lost a bunch of progress thanks to a goof. I accidentally sold my main weapon which is an Ebony Warhammer fully upgraded. It would have cost 9000 gold to get back. I had to reload a previous save. Such a bummer.

I was pretty psyched when I began a quest that I thought was my opening into the Thieves Guild.

But it wasn't. The whole situation got out of control right after I blew out that tower fire.

Yikes! A dragon landed right behind me without warning. That's the first dragon that didn't hover and roar at me for a few minutes before attacking on the ground.

It was sarcasm.

Iv still yet to see those bugs tho since iv uninstalled the game, with almost 40 hours in. Except for the one where the giant smashes an animal and sends it in to orbit.

Me either. I have yet to see a bug other than the occaisional getting stuck in a spot and not being able to move.

There have been several times where I was taking the quick way down a mountain and I expected to get stuck like that but it didn't.

I killed another dragon and it didn't give me its soul. On the plus side, I have a cute little mage following me around now.

Don't tell my wife. :csad:

After this weekend I am going to take a Skyrim break. It feels like there is no end in sight to this game. Even after beating the main quest

and thats what I love about it. I have barely scratched the surface on the main quest and I've been playing non-stop for days. Thats how games should be. To Hell with this 5-6 hour game nonsense

No need to disparage other games. There's plenty of room for all types of games.

Same but you can only play the same game for so long. So I figure with Thanksgiving this upcoming week & family stuff. I will take off for a while & then get right back to it

Does anyone have the Hevnoraak mask? It seems to be broken or bugged. It says it gives you 100% resistance to poison and disease, but it doesn't work. At least not for me.

I have 5000 gold right now. I think it's high time I got my smithing up to 100 and start wearing that tasty tasty dragon armor. Time to make a billion daggers.

Nah, I think that with games like COD and Battlefield, in which the appeal is more online multiplayer than campaign, can get away with it (even though I rather have them longer).

But other games that have short campaigns and bad or no online multiplayer can't. I'm not gonna pay $60 for those games.

I found this awesome goldmine outside Markath. Got me 40 something gold ores.

Portal was about 4-5 hours and it's considered one of the greatest games made.
Oblivion had lots of content, most of it not very good (barring probably the dark brotherhood) Call Of Duty is not very good regardless. It depends I think.
