Elder Scrolls V - Part 3

I recommend doing the Greybeard bit just so you can pick up some free dragon shouts.

Just installed a bunch of mods tonight. One that allows you to get locked NPC items via the command console, another is awesome in that it allows you to smelt your items into raw materials and make a ton of other stuff, even Nightingale Armor. The other improved the female faces since a lot are pretty uggo. More useful if you're playing as a female though.

Don't look at the spoiler tags if you've not started the Dark Brotherhood quests.

Just found the most awesome mod that makes the Shrouded Armor even cooler looking. Here's a screencap of [blackout]Astrid[/blackout] so you can see how females look better and the new Shrouded Armor and the whole outfit on my character.

I've played Fallout 3 and NV for hundreds of hours, picked this up because I heard good things about it and have no idea what the hell is going on half the time. Enjoying it anyway, I think it's mostly because of the fact I tend to wander off into the forest as soon as I get distracted. I have 50+ missions/sidequests to do and may never get around to them. I only have the first shout you get, cant seem to unlock the others even though I killed 5-6 dragons already. I'm just going to stumble around until I actually do the main story or just start a new game.

Also, why are bears harder to kill than dragons? I can take down a dragon no problem in 2-3 minutes, bears kill me 5-6 times before I can down them.

Yeah, looks to "clean". I like how people look haggard and dirty in Skyrim.

Unmodded actually looks a little better to me. Modded looks like she has had to much plastic surgery.

Some of it is the lighting there. But I have found this particular one is better at your creating character than improving NPCs. There's a set of cosmetic mods from another user, had them installed but got random crashes so I got rid of them. Have to try them again. The one I used in that screenshot is from a more recent and popular mod.

Though you must admit the modded Shrouded Armor looks much better. It looks like a real assassin's armor, not a Daredevil action figure.

EDIT: Yeah, this newer mod for better females (center) is suited more for your own character. The older mod (right) which just make faces more detailed and less blocky works better for NPCs.

I've never had a problem with fighting bears. They take like two to three hits for me.

Even a level 26 can kill a bear in 6 hits...

Maybe he's using a really weak weapon.

17-18, something like that. I've just been smithing away iron daggers to get my skills up.

I'm sure. I just havent had much time to play. This is the first 2 days off I've had in a row in over a month. Usually I get to work 10-13 hours a day from Sunday-Friday, get Sat off then do it again. 60+ hours/week isn't condutive to gaming when you get to be on your feet all day :(

Been playing Skyrim for a couple hours now and got to the Bleak Falls Temple in search of the Golden Claw. I have Thaendall as a follower to help me. I'm at the point now where I am quite a way through the temple, far enough not to have to want to turn back and have Thaendalls' as well as my own inventory full up of stuff I either want to keep or want to sell off for gold. It also looks like I still have at least one corridor left in the temple before the end (unless it goes down stairs a 2nd time) so there may still be more stuff I want to pick up.

I have tried to search but can't seem to find a difinitive answer so my question is..

If I fast travel will my follower fast travel with me or will he either already be waiting where I originally found him or does he just make his own way back down the mountain? And if he either does fast travel or just comes back on his own will he still have all the items I gave him?

I suspect I may have to do it the hard way and either back track back to Riverwood with Thaendall in tow or get him to wait while I go and fast travel on my own.... But if I do that will he still wait for me even if I fast travel somewhere and come back?

speedy response much appreciated as I want to go back and carry on playing haha :woot:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they fast travel with you.

I think the only way they may not is if you use the PC command console to make a non-follower NPC into a follower.

Don't overdo it. You're going to end up a higher level guy with low-level combat and armor skills who gets killed a lot, despite your shiny new armor.

I waited until I was like level 30 to start the Smithing/Enchanting grind to get the best weapons/armor.

If bears are causing you a problem, you may need to put some points into the weapon skills to do more damage.

I'm only level 10. I joined the college at Winter Fell is it? Did the first mission. Being a Mage is pretty awesome.

And i've only come across that one Dragon at White Run. Do the rest appear at random or can I go hunting for them? SHOULD i go hunting for them if i'm only level 10?

The seem to appear more frequently as you progress the main quest line.
