Finally i finished the main Dragon questline and the Civil War, i liked both alot. Sadly i was stupid enough to do these after i hit level 30 above, and i really feel the game for me took a downhill when my character (now 42) just got too darn powerful man. I'm just 1 shotting nearly everything and not taking any damage.

Thats basically why I ceased playing it. Only at something like level 37 (max is 100)? With a rogue build and don't even really need to try hiding. Just crouching pretty much automatically makes you invisible even when standing directly in front of them. I'm sure someone will release a re-balancing mod along the lines of oscuro's overhaul and wanderers edition.

I'm thinking of making my next character an Orc Warrior who dual wields, my 1st char was a Nord (Stormcloak member) with magic on left hand, weapon on right hand. Oh yeah i think i'll make ze Orc an Empire Legionnaire.

It feels weird playing as anything but a Nord as the Dragonborn, at least for me. Talos was a Nord, so it just makes sense that the Dragonborn would be too. It would be interesting if there was a questline for Nord players where Talos and the Dragonborn are proved to be related to one another.

I've started a Wood Elf Mage, and it just feels weird playing as him.

It feels weird playing as anything but a Nord as the Dragonborn, at least for me. Talos was a Nord, so it just makes sense that the Dragonborn would be too. It would be interesting if there was a questline for Nord players where Talos and the Dragonborn are proved to be related to one another.

Yeah...the problem is, Dragonborn is so rooted in the Nord tradition,it just feels awkard imagining that the legendary dragonborn from their folklore is actually an Orc...or a Khajit for example. It doesn't feels weird to play a Breton or an Imperial as the dragonborn though-at least to me. But other races...it just doesn't feels right.

In Oblivion, the place was such a melting pot, it just doesn't feel strange that the hero that saves the world could be from any race, as opposed to Skyrim where almost everybody is a Nord.


As for Spock...yeah. It's getting annoying. he only posts complaints about the game, and we've heard it all the first 100 times. Hell, he was ragging on the game even BEFORE it came out

But it's hard to find that connection to the Dragonborn, especially when you use the Elder Scroll, and all the Dragonborn in the past were Nord or at least a human character. They needed an explanation of why this character was Dragonborn, not just that they are.

But it's hard to find that connection to the Dragonborn, especially when you use the Elder Scroll, and all the Dragonborn in the past were Nord or at least a human character. True. but like you say, it's hard to established a connection from the dragonborn in the past from the Nord folklore to the current one...if the current one is one of the beast race...or a redguard ( for me at least)

I know it shouldn't have bothered me, and the fact that it does kinda robbed me from experiencing playing the game as other races-as they all looks cool!- but it kinda does.

I disagree on the whole Nord thing. I don't think it's that odd for the Divines to change it up and pick another race to be the new Dragonborn.

Given thats about the fourth time today repeated, with practically all of them not specifically addressing you in any manner, actions would suggest otherwise. It seems more along the lines of an objection to an opinion as opposed to apathy. It would seem obvious that it's probably specifically due to certain criticisms Skyrim has received. Thats fine, I totally respect your right man. It's probably best to try keep it constructive. For the most part, it's completely off topic and to be honest, it comes across as abit on the juvenile side.

The examples above, the rather huge 40% speed increase due to optimization. The game only using 2gb of ram, as oppossed to a more fuller potential, when you thiink about it, it's basically an outright demonstration. The UI patch, as well as the 4gb patch, would also suggest acknowledgment of the criticisms. I mean, what else would it be? A developer not listening to feedback would be downright silly.

No, my problem is that your problems with the game, is useless nitpicking and shooting fish in a barrell. The funny thing is that with all of your complaints, none of them actually have to do with actual gameplay, except for actually being rewarded with being strong when you get to a high level. A game gets easier when you reach higher levels? What? That's a surprising revelation. The funny thing is that people were complaining about Oblivion for still being hard in later levels, and now with you it's the opposite. It's always "UI" or "texture" problems for you. I find no problems with that personally, and it should not be enough to say that this game is tragically bad like you say it is. I don't know what people encounter, but I have found few bugs with the game other than the usual getting stuck in a place for 5 seconds, and there are no bugs that actually kill the experience. There's a difference between wanting some things to be better, and having those few problems kill that experience for you, which I must say you're being very uptight and sensitive about the game.

Your elistist attitude I also find to be very grating. You act as if people can't like games the way they are, and that they have a problem with it. Unlike you, and other gamers who feel entitled like you, most gamers actually like having fun with games. And no, it doesn't make you better that you have ridiculously (and dare I say, impossibly) high standards. It just means you have a snobby attitude. And you call everyone else hipsters for liking game. That's like pot calling tea kettle black.

You have a strong resentment for anything console gaming (I remember you saying you'd rather not play a game at all than play on a console), and your jabs against console gaming is getting old. I don't care about PC gamers, and why PC gaming is better. I know PC specs will always be better than console specs, but I still prefer a controller, a system, and tv than having to spend $2000 on the same specs (including tv, and don't tell me its cheap. I'm not dumb).

All of that would still be fine, it really would, if you actually wasn't so unpleasant in every thread. All of you talk about in everything thread is what you don't like, and what you hate about a game in that you rarely actually say what you actually like about games (other than shogun 2), or what you look for most when you play a game. It's as if if a game isn't perfect to you, it's crap. You're like Kyle in South park when he was emo, and all he kept hearing and seeing in movies, games, and pictures is s**t.

I don't act like I'm a wannabe game developer with the mentality that I can make a game better than most game developers like you do. I like the game, for the most part, the way it is, and no I'm not settling for subpar because Skyrim is the one of (and personally, the best) games of the year.

Maybe he's hoping that one day people in this thread will go; 'you know what...that Spock dude was right! the other day i just noticed that the leaves in skyrim isn't green enough! i hate this game now! it's broken!

My advice to him is to just stop playing Skyrim since it's giving him nothing but troubles....and just goes back to rubbing Shogun 2 cd all over his body...i heard it cures diseases

I never noticed it either, maybe I'll go back an check it out when I get back to my good TV.

The Nine Divines are usually portrayed as humans, but that could be the homeocentrism of the Empire. The humans rule Tamriel, so the gods will look like them too. The only one that is actually human is Talos, who was the first emperor Tiber Septim.
OH! and Akatosh is sometimes portrayed as a Dragon, like in the end of Oblivion.

And it's funny that his last post in this thread is actually not actually one complaining about the game. And if Spock is still checking in, it's been done before in a terrible game called Dark Sector. It's sad how that game went from an awesome looking space stealth game to the crap that it was.

Here's the screenshot of it. Made it a little brighter since my monitor is pretty dark. I don't remember which shrine this was but I'm sure it's in more than one.

Yeah, the Nords seem to hate all elves. They drove the Falmer into the mountains, never played Morrowind but I assume their relationship with Dark Elves was tense. They probably dislike the Wood Elves the least since they both hate High Elves.

To be honest, in Morrowind, it felt as though the Dark Elves hated everyone. I found them to be pretty hostile, and I'm pretty sure most races find them hostile. There's got to be a reason that the Dumners are the only elves that aren't part of the Altimeri Dominion.
