Decided to give in to the urge and buy Skyrim for PS3 this week with some of my Christmas money. Loved playing that game so much via Gamefly I feel like I was crazy NOT to buy it!

Btw, got the 4-disk soundtrack SIGNED by Jeremy Soule for Christmas, as well! You want me to post pics?

I've been hearing a lot about this game and I'm quite into open world environments but as someone who's never been a fan of rpg's would this be a game i would enjoy?

Probably. I'm not a big RPG fan and I got sucked in immediately. There's more action in the game than RPG elements IMO

The improvements to the combat/Gameplay in general should make anyone enjoy the game.

I never thought of any of them to look like a human except for Talos either, which is why the Thalmor wanted to ban Talos. They did it just solely to piss off the Nords because they knew it was start a schism within the empire, especially within Skyrim. They predicted Ulfric's idiocy right.

I believe these are from Oblivion. They could be portrayed differently in different parts of Tamriel.

The Thalmor definitely knew that the elimination of Talos from the faith would cause a schism. The Altmeri Dominion knew that the compromises made by the Empire in the White-Gold Concordant would cause rebellion and anger in the lands still controlled by the Empire, which would make it easier to conquer the different lands one by one instead of taking control of the Empire directly. They lost that chance when they lost the battle. If Ulfric's Rebellion had lasted for years, I don't doubt that the Altmeri would sweep in a defeat both sides easily. I find those b****** everywhere in Skyrim, and they're the only people I allow my character to outright murder.

That's why I love that one quest where you have to save Thorald Grey-Mane from that Thalmor stronghold. In fact, I told his brother to stay home, because I wanted those f**kers all to myself (I'm a Nord, by the way). That slaughter felt so good.

High Elves are such a***oles.

I didn't get the one thing I asked for, WWE'12.
Instead, I was welcomed to the world of Skyrim.
Within the first 20 minutes I hit some elf bastard with my axe by mistake, then
the whole village was out slaughter me. I retaliated and before I know it, the whole village is empty...WTF is going on in this game...

Welcome to Skyrim:woot:

When trying to kill someone for The Dark Brotherhood, I took one of the optional quests for a character I was supposed to get the contracts for. I went to Windhelm, killed the target, and killed several guards.

Long Story short, I can't go back to Windhelm for now due there being a 5,160 bounty on me. They even sent bounty hunters after me (like they can do anything).

Bounty hunters and assassins are a somewhat welcome addition. They come at the most random times though.

Playing that quest as a Khajiit assassin is so much fun. I love being that blade in the shadows.

I fight their warriors for that mission, and take them out 3, 4 at a times easily, and I always ask "how did these guys kick the empire's ass". Then I get struck by lighting or fire by the mages, and then I say "that's why" before preceding to kick their asses.

ok.....I got this for XMAS on the 360.

so far, I'm enjoying it, and it has been pretty smooth sailing.

however, I think I've run into a bug.

I've noticed that some of the houses in the towns are locked, when they shouldn't be. like, it's in the middle of the day, and I see people going in/out of the house. and it's a house that I've been inside previously ( like Alvor's house in Riverwood ). when I approach the door, it says it's locked and I have to use a lockpick to unlock it. which then gets the attention of the guards and makes the residents angry at me.

has anyone else experienced this? and, is there a way to get the houses to "reset" to their unlocked state?

thanks.

I'm soooo close to being able to craft Dragon armour :awesome: Wish you could make Dragon weapons though, that'd be sweet.

It's supposed to be locked. It's a civilian house and the owner isn't in. When they're inside, sometimes they unlocked it.Though if you have no bussines being in their house, they'll tell you to leave, if you don't leave, they'll turn hostile.

Another subject...i find it hard to really 'hate'the Thalmor.it's their land to begin with, and Tamriel being a dog eat dog world, they're appear to be the strongest, so....

Another subject...am i the only one who thinks that the Forsworn are cool:oldrazz:

Got this for Christmas, with Arkham City. I know everyone on reddit and...well, everywhere else thinks this is Game of the Year. But I'm not really diggin' it. I played for a few hours, and spent my time wandering aimlessly around a large map, with some awkward hack 'n slash fights along the way. It feels like a medieval Fallout 3, and I wasn't a fan of that game, either.

I've read the last page, so: No, I'm not trolling. Just a little disappointed. I'm reading about Skyrim hype everywhere, and maybe this gets awesome later, but right now I'm a little underwhelmed.

fair enough, maybe the game just isn't your cup of tea. I found that with Bethesda games, you either love it or you end up hating it.

That 'wandering around aimlessly' is actually one of the big reason why people love it. ...exploring...and the freedom to do whatever you want.

Wandering around aimlessly, then seeing the shadow of a Dragon passing overhead is what makes this game amazing.

Yeah that'd had been sweet, ah well Daedra weapons look awesome. :} Still i wish you could make Dragon bone weapons, imagen a Dragon bone Sword, slash!

One of the good things about Skyrim is that it can be a sandbox game if you want it to be but you can also go straight from quest to quest if that's what you prefer. The beginning is mostly just exploring but it does get more quest-based later on. I'm not usually too big on sandbox games myself but I thought Skyrim offered a lot of leniency for different types of gamers.

Sorry for not getting around to posting the pics of my signed soundtrack last night. Here they are:

Sorry for the bad quality and the glare from the light on the first pic. Took these with my iPod.
