Elder Scrolls V - Part 4

God damn it. I should have never bought this game. I have played around 50 hours already, and it's just too amazing to stop.

The framerate issue is pretty bad when it does hit, dropping to like 0-1 frames a second. It just isn't the constant problem that it is being reported as. During like a 3 hour session, I'd say it happens maybe 3 times and only for like 1-2 minutes.

It's unplayable when it happens and definitely warrants some dev attention, but the majority of my time with the PS3 version is perfectly fine.

The Golden Touch Achievement is pretty easy if you don't mind killing, selling and waiting 48 hours to repeat.

If you want a merchant to have his/her money and items restored: Save, kill the merchant (and the witnesses if there's any) and load the save. Worked about a week ago, so i don't think it's patched.

I kinda "cheated" the golden touch achievement, i just kept killing and waking up Cicero while taking his clothes (he gets them back everytime you enter a new area) and sold the clothes to Riverwood trader. :woot:

I just hated worrying about money, now i have over 100k and i can focus on other things.

i got a free mammoth tusk today, I quick traveled to its camp and it fell out of the sky and died.

That reminds me of the time a Dragon was circling up above me, until he promptly keeled over and fell to the ground dead.

Thought it might be fun to post pic of our character.

This is mine. I play as that breton girl you see on the game sliders.Called her Ylva, in the ancient Nord language, it means she-wolf.

I was planning on holding out on Skyrim until I built a new PC, but I caved in and got it for PS3 so I had something to do this week while on vacation from work. Loving it so far. The farther I get, the more I get into it. Most seems like a HUGE improvement over Oblivion, and some seems like a step back. Such as I'm not feeling quite as immersed yet, but I'm getting there. Also, while the voice acting has improved with NPC's...I miss other races being featured more, too much Nord IMO.

ATM I just finished the "A night to remember" quest (which was a lot of fun), and am tracking down the Thieves guild, and doing Companion quests. I want to track down the Dark Brotherhood next. Have also beat four Dragons, two ambushed me in a row at the witches cabin, and another at some farm (plus the initial Dragon fight).

As for my character, he's a Redguard with lighter skin (looks a bit like Jason Momoa as Conan...kinda). I liked Redguard's in Oblivion so thought I'd start as one. I lean towards the human looking races, Bretons are too magic orientated for this char, and Imperials too bland. He's a dual wielding, archery thief who knows a bit of magic (gotta love how you're not shoe horned into one specific role like in Oblivion). I'll save full on magic for my second character.

just curious........is it possible to change you character's appearance during the game ( on the 360 )? like, is there a "barber" shop that lets you change your hairstyle?

also, for leveled items ( like the Dawnbreaker sword ), at what level would I need to be at in order to get the most "powerful" version of that item?

thanks.

I agree, though Skyrim is a place most races tend to avoid, due to a lot of thme being pretty racist against other races, especially elves.

Cyrodill was the center of Tamriel, so it made sense to have a lot of diversity, and while Morrowind was a melting pot of races because it felt more like the wild west (and the Dark Elves weren't as harsh among outlanders than Nords).

Skyrim Teams Up With Spider-Man, Thanks To This PC Mod

There’s no credit given for the creator of this mod — which takes the giant spiders found in Bethesda’s mega-hit action role-playing game and turns them in creepy multiples of Marvel Comics’ flagship character — but I’m thinking the guy’s last name has to be Osborn. More »

Futurama’s Dr. Zoidberg Versus Spider Spider-Man In A Skyrim Battle Royale

Perhaps these Dr. Zoidberg modded Skyrim mudcrabs aren’t as freaky as the contorted spider Spider-Men, but their screams of agony when you kill them are pretty spot on. More »

enjoy and discussions in session.

Your character is a lesbian? Nice :word:

I most recently re-started my Nord Beserker, Eddard Stark (:awesome:) I use a Silver Greatsword since it looks the most like Valyrian Steel. I really hate how the Steel Greatsword has that second hilt in with the leather in between that and the handle hilt.

I'm forcing myself to use Dwarven armor since I used Steel up until I could get Steel Plate. I really didn't like the color so installed a steel texture mod. I was going to use the Iron Helmet but I think the Ancient Nord version goes better with it and looks like a more sophisticated version of the Iron Helmet. I would like to use the Helm of Yngol but the Front Resistance enchantment is redundant on a Nord.

Is that modded armor you are using Hoss?

Yup! it's the Triss merigold from the witcher 2 armor. The mod was briefly on the Nexus before it was taken down.

Lydia looks badass in that.

Thanks!..and yeah she is a badass!

hahaha yeah..since most of the males marriage candidates are filthy or werewolves scum.

Niiiiice! it looks much better in silver too...and nice combo with that ancient Nord helmet. And for some reason, the Dwarven armor reminds me of the Hellfire armor from FO3...only in gold color.
